Wilfred Ndidi (signed for Besiktas 9m)
Claudio Fannieri replied to FrankieADZ's topic in Transfer Talk
Main thing is we get £9m and his full wage off the books. -
Was on loan at Swansea last season.

There is if you have to raise enough money to correct the piss poor recruitment of players, managers and coaching staff in the summer and during the season, and still people will defend Top and Rudkin to the hilt. Can only hope its agent guff to get a new contract, if he does go can only hope for a cracking fee and a potential 2 year loan back to us.

Brilliant article by Percy and sums up the incompetence that runs our club, 4 weeks since Ruud presented his plan and the club haven’t even discussed it with him, whatever any of us think about Ruud and his credentials it just goes to show how unprofessional and the lack of proactive engagement it’s embarrassing and disrespectful.
-
But if you continuously always want a manager who has premier league experience or of managing a club of a similar size or stature then you are seriously reducing the size and potential of available managers. If we seriously want to get back to anything like a forward thinking progressive club then we need to be more proactive and innovative in our recruitment. The season we appointed Enzo was exactly the direction of travel, a bright young appointment with fresh ideas and energy, we then went back to the ‘safe’ option of Cooper and it lo and behold we went backwards not only in our preparation but also our recruitment. We were very successful in the recruitment of young hungry managers in the past, Little, McGhee, O’Neill, Pearson and Enzo were all largely untried at our level but yet all came in and had a very positive impact, that is a model we should be replicating as that as a far higher ceiling than appointing ‘safe’ options that have hit their peak and are now on a downward trajectory.
-
I have named my shortlist many times, so my list of progressive young managers who are on the rise in terms of the managerial career would be (in no particular order) Miron Muslic - Plymouth Danny Rohl - Sheffield Wednesday Ritchie Wellens - Leyton Orient Tom Cleverly - Watford (now available) Liam Manning - Bristol City I would also add Craig Bellamy who is doing a good job at Wales and was Kompanys assistant at Burnley and another outsider would be Reuben Selles did a very good job at Reading and Hull who are both basket case clubs, and is now available.
-
I think there is a fair few lists of potential managers, doing the rounds on here, who are young progressive and have the potential to come in and take us forward.
-
Dyche and Pearson are only similar in the fact both have a persona that takes no shit, too be honest from a football perspective I would actually say Ritchie Wellens is more in the Pearson mould than Dyche. Dyche is more Gary Megson than Nigel Pearson.
-
The fear is though without making a significant step change in strategy and culture we are just as likely to replace the high earners with more high earners of a lower quality, as we desperately try and hang onto the coat tails of the premier league and the past. We really need to accept as a club, that era has gone and we need to go away, rip it up and start afresh and build a new Leicester City, but whilst Top and Rudkin fumble around trying to find quick fixes we will continue to throw money down the pan on expensive established players on a downward curve rather than young hungry players on a upward trend. Our summer recruitment will show if we have learnt any lessons from the mistakes of the last 3/4 years.

I would say that his him saving face, I think he knows it’s not happening so distancing himself. Happens a fair bit.

That was exactly my thoughts.

Another brilliant episode, very measured and articulate debate around the manager’s position and what should happen next season 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 -
Absolutely agree I would love to see Wellens come in as I think he has a lot of similarities with Pearson. I think the club could do a lot worse than appoint him but given Tops and Rudkin’s obsession with Premier league experience and/or being a big name sadly I don’t think he will even be on their radar, like so many of the other progressive options suggested on here.
-
My shortlist would be as follows Miron Muslic Danny Rohl Richie Wellens Liam Manning Tom Cleverley Jon Dahl Tomasson Kasper Hjulmand
-
Realistically I would say this role is pretty junior within the LCFC heirarchy where as the role he is taking at Plymouth ( a former club of his as well) is a lot more senior, not sure there is much to read into except timing is pretty off but clearly opportunity to good to turn down. also given the appointments of a head of football operation and head of recruitment probably means Muslic stays at Plymouth as he has worked very closely at Cercle with the incoming recruitment lead.
-
Oh and another thing if people hate how inflexible and one dimensional the football was/is under Puel, Brendan, Enzo, Ruud and what it would be like under Brussel, well Dyche ball is even worse, people comparing him to Pearson couldn’t be further from the truth, Pearson trusted young players and his teams played some pretty decent football. The only similarity between Dyche and Pearson is they are straight talking and no nonsense but they are worlds apart in their philosophy’s. Dyche is ideal for a club in a battle or a smaller club wanting to punch above their weight, but for a supposedly forward thinking club with world class training facilities and an exceptional crop of academy players breaking through then Dyche is not the answer, it’s like replacing Enzo with Steve fecking Cooper, I mean which hair brained duo would ever make that masterstroke of a decision 😂

Sorry have to disagree there I live in the North West, it’s a great catchment area for academy talent and the likes of Preston, Blackburn and Burnley tend to have the opportunity to hoover up the academy releases from the big Merseyside and Manchester clubs, so sorry the whole he had nothing to work with argument is flawed. The reality is he has a preferrred profile of player and young academy players don’t necessarily fill that requirement, it’s not a criticism, however it’s a massive red flag given where we are and we in entering a golden era in regards to the quality of player we are producing. Appointing Dyche at this juncture would be a massive own goal and set the club and most likely our whole academy programme back years. Would I be shocked and surprised if our board went down this route, no because I don’t think they have much of a strategy or continuity, but going down this route would be such a foolish move.
-
All things being equal the team should end up wearing the new kit on Sunday as it’s usually worn at the lady home game of the season, although not sure it happened last season against Blackburn
-
If they were the only options then I would rather keep Ruud

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I wonder if his contract/ severance package is linked to our end of season final position, the higher we finish the bigger his pay off, however if he is sacked before the end of season he is entitled to his full pay off. So it may be that by waiting to end of season his pay off will reduce. Also given we would only have a temporary management team in place, it may therefore make more financial sense to let him finish the season. -

Interesting that Chris Powell was on co-comms/pundit duty for Radio Leicester. Given he is Danny Rohl’s assistant at Sheffield Wednesday. -
Burst on to the scene at a very young age, however our decline was always going to have a pretty negative effect on his development, plus the culture at the club was not the best, as a result his form took a massive downturn. Luke deserves a massive amount of credit for the way he has turned his career around, and I think he will be an important player for us next season, although I would not be shocked if he ends up with a move in the summer would be a decent option for a lot of premier league clubs as back up or for one of the promoted clubs as a possible starter. Also I think the club would see £10m+ of pure profit from PSR point of view too good to turn down.

First 65 was pretty poor but last 25 or so was something else and should be the blue print of how we play moving forward, loved it -
This has aged like milk 😂😂

Picks Faes, Ayew and Ndidi who all look to be on the way out the door and then brings on a loanee who is gone soon and Soumare who pretty much checked out the day he signed for us. Fecking pitiful
