  1. This result changes nothing for me, only reason Monga, Evans and Golding are anywhere near the first team is because of the injuries, nothing else. If Ruud was serious about our young talent and the ‘future’ he would have jettisoned shite like Faes, Soumare, VK, Ayew, BDCR, Daka etc from the squad a few weeks back, he would have also given genuine opportunities and significant game time to the likes of Monga, Evans, Golding, Aluko, Braybrooke, Cartwright, Page etc. Look at today perfect opportunity to start one of Monga or Evans and he starts Ayew …what do we learn from that, he could have filled the bench with youth instead we have a bench half full of complete willy pullers. Just get him gone, bite the bullet pay him off and start the rebuild. Let him leave on a bit of a high with a win. But please if he was serious about blooding players for next season, today was the perfect opportunity and he couldn’t be arsed.
  2. Vardy scored which is all that matters at this stage of the season unless Ruud is going to be really brave and give our young talented academy prospects decent game time. 5/10 minutes here and there doesn’t really cut it for me, a couple should be starting and another 3 should be getting 30 minutes, why we persist with giving players like Faes, Soumare, VK and even Ndidi game time or places on the bench when it is clear they off in the summer at the expense of players like Okoli, Aluko, Braybrooke and Cartwright is criminal.
  3. Why bring on Soumare and why not bring on Golding
  4. Yeah that was my thoughts too
  5. You have to question what damage is being done by allowing this to continue, negative team selections, poor performances and horrific results, what is the point every minute he is here is just adding to the disconnect between the club and disgruntled fanbase. Moving on RVN should be one of a number of significant changes the club makes and the sooner the better.
  6. Disgusting team selection, yet again the opportunity to be positive and select some young talent and really freshen it up and prepare for next season and instead he reverts to tried and tested dog muck. I think this is a stand off between club and Ruud, he wants his pay off and I think the club want him to walk , the ones suffering in between are the supporters. How can that selection be a nod to the future. Hate what this club has become.
  7. Given his wages are pretty sensible there is a good chance he could go abroad to one of the top teams, I think we will get somewhere between £25m & £30m + add ons and given his book value will be circa £3m we will be able to book a very tidy PSR profit.
  8. From what you have seen, who do you think is capable and ready to step up next season as genuine match day squad players
  9. Would rather see Cartwright or Braybrooke alongside Skipp than watch another second of Soumare trundling about with barely a care in the world as his man glides past him unopposed.
  10. If he continues to pick players like Faes, Soumare etc etc that offer nothing for the future then I hope we lose, however if we have a team built around next season and a fair sprinkling of our academy players then absolutely want to see a positive performance and result.
  11. Absolutely agree, all I am interested in is Vardy getting to 200 goals and hopefully the introduction of a few academy prospects getting decent game time, doing well and preparing for next season.
  12. It depends on how you set the team up and what you expect Braybrooke to do, yes it is important to have physicality and athletes in your team but it’s also important to have players who read the game well and can dictate play. Braybrooke will never be destroyer but nor should he be, use him as the deep lying playmaker alongside someone who is more of an Ndidi type of player and he could be an exceptional player. Let’s be honest Youri was never that robust out of possession but was an absolute Rolls Royce when we had the ball.
  13. I also think they have the get out of handing Man City a hefty points deduction of say 35 points, safe in the knowledge none of the bottom 3 are getting close to 30 points, and none of them can complain because Ipswich, us and saints have all been so poor and failed to muster any meaningful challenge to stay in the league.
  14. I think he was a solid and unspectacular signing in an area where we were relatively well stacked unless we were moving someone on, which at the time we didn’t. The biggest issue is the financial aspect of the deal, which others have rightly said is far from his fault, given what we spent, I am left scratching my head somewhat as to why he has been left out in the cold so often, especially when you see Soumare lumbering around, it does make you wonder if there has been something underlying this season. As a few have alluded to in this thread we have looked very under prepared this season, our pre season was appalling and looks like it set the tone for what has been a truly horrifying season. personally I would be happy to see Wilf, Winks and Soumare move on and Skipp potentially be the one to offer experience alongside a lot more youthful and energetic midfield, he has always seemed to be a good professional, so again makes you wonder what the hell has been going on this season.
  15. Just done a bit of research and Sheffield Wednesday is a cat 2 academy and play in Professional Development League 2 North Division so may not be producing the level of talent that Rohl can promote.
  16. We are blessed with an unbelieveable crop of academy talent coming through so we have to bring in a manager who is completely aligned and committed to playing these young players. In the case of Danny Rohl it could be that the academy at Wednesday just isn’t producing the players with enough quality or mentality to stand up to the rigours of Championship football. if the quality isn’t there you can’t promote young players for the sake of it. But our situation is very different and we have to set a mandate with our next managerial appointment that this reset includes harnessing the academy talent at our disposal.
  17. More of a reason for me to go for Muslić I feel he is the diamond in the rough for us, I think he would be a great fit for us as a club.
  18. Ahhhhh well replace him with Golding
  19. Come on Rudders and Top get in there get him and start the redemption.
  20. My team for Saturday with one eye on next season - Stolrcyrk Coulibaly Okoli Coady Aluko Skipp Cartwright Monga Bilal Evans Vardy Subs Bausor Joseph Thomas Amartey Braybrooke Page McAteer Briggs Opoku
  21. Cracking player but think we should have done this deal last summer.
  22. My list for what its worth of potentially realistic and attainable players to supplement the talent in our academy and to move forward with players who will be signings that won’t bust the bank but also offer potential sell on opportunity. GK - Freddie Woodman (PNE), Sam Tickle (Wigan), Harry Tyrer (Blackpool), Sanne Lammens (Antwerp) Full Back - Kaine Kesler Hayden (PNE - Villa loan), Caleb Wiley (Watford loan), Flavio Nazinho (Cercle), Ethan Galbraith (Leyton Orient) CB - Maksym (Plymouth), Callum Doyle (Man City), Tyler Bindon (Reading) Nathan Ngoy (Standard Liege) CM - Ben Sheaf (Cov), Yacine Titraouri (Charleroi), Noah Nartey (Brondby) Victor Froholdt (Copenhagen) AM - Kwame Poku (Peterborough), Niko Jankovic (Reijka), Striker - Adam Buksa (Midtjylland), Hamza Igamane (Rangers), Adriano Bertaccini (St Truiden)
  23. Relaxing on the sofa watching Soccer Saturday with zero expectation of Leicester doing anything other than lose and score zero.
  24. Reckon he will do on the next episode of the price of football podcast, really great and interesting show.
  25. It would seem the people who run our club missed the course on how to set and manage a budget, it’s ridiculous that we have breached as we have got away on technicalities but then have the summer transfer window we have had where we have literally burned money on some right old dross. We have not learnt one single lesson. Shameful but remember be careful what you wish for and we were in league one once 😡
