If we went down and lost Vardy to retirement, Buonanotte back to Brighton, sold El Khanouss and Hermansen, Soumare leaves on a free, I'd expect our team to at least finish comfortably top six in the championship and be pushing for automatics, depending on who went down with us and whether or not we have a points deduction. We could field a team like Jakub Justin, Faes, Jannick, Kristiansen Winks, Ndidi Fatawu, BDR/Ayew, Mavididi Daka That team is comfortably better than at least 20/21 sides currently in the championship, possibly more, and that's without signing anyone.

Goes to show the gulf between the two leagues. This Southampton team is being spoken about as being potentially the worst team in Premier League history, yet if that team were in the championship this season, I'm convinced they'd win it.
-
If they finish with fewer points than Derby, I think it's more a reflection of how much stronger the league as a whole is now (the top sides were arguably better back then in relation to the overall stadard of football). I don't believe that they're actually a worse side.
-
Proper loser mentality, I know, but that win today guarantees that the absolute worst we can be is the joint fifth worst side in Premier League history (from a 38 game season). Derby County 2007-08: 11 points Sunderland 2005-06: 15 points Sheffield United 2023-24: 16 points Huddersfield Town 2018-19: 16 points Aston Villa 2015-16: 17 points

You are correct, but they were truly dreadful today. I said at half time that any team with anything about them would be beating them. -

Tottenham have enough of a buffer to make me think that they're not in this. If they were on 21 points rather than 24, I'd consider them to be in the relegation scrap. They were that bad. -
The worst thing about this is any team with anything about them would be beating Spurs right now. They really are there for the taking. So poor.

Come on, he's miles better than Choudhury.

I used to travel from Huddersfield. The train links were terrible. It was only two trains but the train from Huddersfield to Sheffield would take an hour and a half because it would stop at everyone's front door. I'd always drive.
-
Arnold, north Nottingham.
-
Aye. I believe the East Midlands is the second lowest paid region in England with the north-east being the lowest paid.
-
How do you travel? Train, car or flight? It's a hefty drive. I've done it a few times over the past year and a half for work. Takes me around 6 hours from Nottingham.
-
Enzo Maresca at Chelsea following an eerily similar pattern to us last season.
-
The one thing I will give them is that their worst players that start for them are probably better than the worst players that started for us regularly when we won the league. For instance, I don't think they have footballers as limited as Simpson or Okazaki starting for them. However, their best players are nowhere as good as ours were. They don't have anyone anywhere near as good as Vardy, Mahrez or Kanté. Murillo is probably the only one I can see going to a top club and winning silverware regularly.

Offensive that this Forest team has been compared to our title-winning side. Genuinely don't even think they're as good as we were in the first two years under Rodgers.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

Cardiff vs Derby tomorrow is a huge game. -
The only things I will give the club in terms of the matchday experience are playing when you're smiling before kickoff and the panels that they've put up showing showing trophies we've won, as well as moments in our history. That has made the ground at least look a bit less souless and more like our home.
-
For what it's worth, the only money the club have had from me in the past 3/4 years or so has been for my season ticket and match tickets for cup games. I'm not spending £6 for a pint of Chang out of a plastic cup when I am perfectly capable of going more than two hours without alcohol and I can have a pint in a pub that will actually enjoy before or after the game. Nor am I willing to spend £60 on a replica shirt, which would effectively make me a walking billboard for dodgy crypto.
-
Easy, 3. Ruud isn't showing himself to be a particularly good manager, but the club is a complete mess and we've not given him the platform to have a chance of being successful. I hope we've not destroyed any chance he had in football management.
-
I hate that our greatest ever player is associated with this. Last summer was after promotion was the perfect time to go our.
-
I know it's easy to catastrophise, but I really think we could be looking at something that resembles 2004-2008.
-
This isn't me trying to dig you out for this, but I see this a lot. How do we know that is true? He has the power to overule everyone. It feels like people just don't want to turn on him because of the past.
-
Sean Dyche is available and has a record of keeping teams up at least somewhat regularly. However, in what way do we have anything that even slightly resembles a Sean Dyche team? There is a serious lack of physicality in this team (among many things).

LCFC 0-2 Fulham, post match thread
BenTheFox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Even then we were more competetive at the level of football we were playing at. We drew loads of games and had the third best defensive record in the league. We just couldn't score. -
The flag and the fact that his trousers were falling down topped it off for me. Exceptional.
