Going on loan during covid must have been tough for any players needing to do that. Staying in temp accomodation and no socialising sounds like a recipe for mental health problems to me, especially if you never get a game. I can't imagine that aspect is unusual for any recent loans, whatever else has gone on with Benchovic.

Hopefully he will prosper closer to home.

Foxes96 is on the money.

That Aribo looks a bit tasty.

That's his best finger as well, so disappointing.

Kel scores some amazing goals, and that was an absolute peach of a finish. Delighted for him. I want our players to do well and come back happy, although it will be tough for the club in the short term.

Some nice distribution from Wilf, taking responsibility in a way you don't always see for Leicester.

Pleased for Papy, I'd love to see him have more than 1 game to play in.

I've not been as harsh but I did think that Perez would been more effective than what Madders delivered, over their respective stays at the club, if he had been first choice AMC. They have many similar traits (no strength, no pace) with one working harder and the other more creative. In a team that likes to press, Madders is a weak link without the ball. That might be true looking back, but Maddison is prolific when in the zone. Now he has repeated his last purple patch we can see it was no fluke, and I take my hat off to him. Sorry Madders, I have seen the light and changed my view, you are an outstanding creative talent. I'll put up with the average workrate for these world class numbers.

Cameroon start with a win. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/jan/09/relief-and-atmosphere-as-cameroon-open-africa-cup-of-nations-in-style

Actually, can't really argue with that. Top bantz, must have been working on that for a while. Much better than banging on about Hillsboro, etc. If other fans start sing about helicopters we can't really complain if we have set a standard.

Wasn't a disaster today, but it is going to take more than that level to change the narrative.

Why isn’t there a song or chant for Maddison?

Has the actual tournament not even started yet?

I think you are right, we should have got everyone together and cut a deal with the companies who hold the patents and let anyone make them, anywhere. The US has been asking for this since Biden got in, but ultimately it was Trump who set the tone.

It was a great watch, I enjoyed it immensely. How can you not enjoy what Brunt just did, I had no idea who he was yesterday. The kids can only benefit from being involved, and I think it will be easier to play some of them again this season, as we will probably have to. -

So many positives, and just a general good vibe around the match. Hat tip to Hamza particularly (his covering for Vestegaard was class), Albrighton, Lookman and many others. Even Vesty made a positive contribution on the peno. The next game won't be so easy. -
BR did say he has been overplayed around Xmas. I also think Turkey in the summer was a disaster for the whole nation, I'd imagine there was a lot of toxicity around. I've always thought he is a bit more suited to European football, because he is a bit short aerially, for me. Excellent player on his day, but not this year. Cynics will say he has lowered his potential fee significantly.

So much unsubstantiated garbage on this thread, it is quite illuminating to see who have lost their heads. We're all f****n experts us Brits. I blame Micheal Gove.

Strange discussion really, Castagne has only had a couple of good games on the left and Thomas is unlikely to appear on the right, so when are they going to be fighting over a starting spot?

When life gives you straws... start clutching. For both of them to stink the place out is an awful hit rate. They were supposed to be (relatively) easy drop in solutions, PL experience and all that. Maybe one day they will get up in the morning and be decent PL squad players again. -
Inverted wingers are quite boring really, although I suppose the full backs can still cross a ball properly. Guppy would have got more caps at a fashionable club.

Brilliant stuff, thank you.

It is his big chance to show that he does have something to offer us beyond this season. Let's just hope he can find a performance or two, and hold the fort until Big Dan gets back.
