He's a bit like a weeble... It would be beautiful to see him come back as a champion, after all the disappointment of this season. I would even venture to say it tells you a lot about the character of the man.

I always wonder about the maths on this kind of thing, it's not the easiest thing to determine. The biggest element of footballs environmental impact is probably matchday related, but you have to compare it with the environmental impact of alternative activities that folks would be doing instead. For example, is 100,000 people onsite and say 500 million people watching an F1 race on TV greener than par? 18 cars emissions, plus the emissions associated with broadcasts and reception for all those people, it probably is going to be better than the overall average of other alternatives. I could go and Google this, of course, but enjoy my half-baked opinion anyway.

The stories around the cars are what make them special. Cars used to be the difference between a tolerable existence and an enviable one, especially for men, but their role in liberating women was huge. Men were allowed motorbikes, of course, but girls not so much. I don't think we had the Bubble car long, it wasn't a long range car, but it made a big impression on us kids. I always remember the air of incredulity when we got in and the door was shut. It didn't seem right. No reverse gear! The Messerschmitt's are my favourite because they obviously didn't do a great deal of retooling in the immediate post war period! Just used what they had, I guess. You don't really see bubble cars in the UK much, the rot and the salt got them, but I think they were assembled here for a while.

And to be fair plastic recycling is no great solution either, even BS Boris knows that. I'd bang a carbon tax and dividend system in and let the market forces go to work, but not everyone is on board with that yet.

Google Rimac (who have just taken on an economy brand called Bugatti), this Nevera pushes out 2000hp. Lamborghini and Ferrari are currently getting embarrased for acceleration by electric saloon cars, so have no option but to go hybrid at the very minimum. Indeed the the next Lambo Urus has just been announced (although they are saying 2028, tbf), and it will be full electric. The plug-in hybrid Urus is expected very soon, because they are short on power as I explained, and the PHEV is expected to be 820bhp. For non-specialists like yourself and by way of explanation, Vardy and Madders have this car, but I think they drive blue ones. 28% of new vehicles sold last year in the UK had a plug socket on them, Porsche sells more electric Taycan's than 911's. A Porsche was recently hypermiled across the US, 2800 miles coast to coast on under 3 hours charging. Times have changed. So what can I say... Are you perhaps an Ostritch?

Pleased for him, he has done well to be in the kind of shape he is. When he wins AFCON, could the miserablists just have a day off for once.

My family had one during the fuel crisis in the early 70's, BMW-Isetta I think. I would hate to crash one, but then you could say the same about most cars up until quite recently.

Well done Papy, he looked delighted at the end.

I think his passing has been better this season, or it maybe it is the position change helps him a bit. I'm not saying he is brilliant but he was a midfielder for a long time, playing some good games in this league for us. These days I twitch every time Cags goes near the ball, so Big Dan is like an oasis of calm in comparison.

We need a leader on the pitch who's a nasty b*****d

There are quite a lot of posters on here who love nothing better than sticking the boot in, how about one of them. -
Toxic toddlers in full flow I see.

The Benkovic conspiracy eh? BR is such a wicked man, disgracing the club every time he breathes.
-
Patson does enjoy a goal, and he has done Vardy and Kel's celebrations now. You'd need a heart of stone not to like him.
-
He always takes a game or two to get going. At least he apologised to the fans immediately afterwards, which I think is important.

Don't mind Brendan myself, he does have to tell porkies at points, but then so do Jurgen and Pep. I do like the way he has been pointing out he likes pace in his backline every 5 minutes recently, I think we know what that is about.
-
Linear progress would be a surprise, it's almost bound to be in fits and starts.
-
Gutted for him, relieved for us
-
Well, says it all really. Brendan out!

We're on one aren't we?

Bet the Arsenal medical team are loving that. Let's hope it isn't to serious for him. I wonder if he was vaccinated.

Burnley (A) next Saturday - POSTPONED

Would love a win from our patched up side. The number of defensive permutations this season have been truly extraordinary, as bad as I can remember. -
Praise the lord and pass the ammunition, he's back.

This is a thing I sometimes consider in relation to Kel. He is slightly pigeon-toed with a sort of arse out hip alignment and awkward running style don't help his mobility, but interestingly he does generate tremendous power with little backlift, and those 2 things are partly a function of his frame and physique, imho. Youri is another one who has a wide frame that helps create his strolling style of football. Beckham was another like that I remember, and also there was something funny about Dalgliesh and his ability to hold players of with his butt. I think there is a great book to be written about how great players maximise their physical traits, maybe it has already been done by someone. I searched Dalgliesh and big arse, this is the first result, featuring Kel. https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/the-secret-science-of-having-a-massive-arse-in-football-82826 One thing I know about modern sport is that these footballers have top draw computerised gait analysis and the very finest custom orthotics, finely tuned to minimise the risks associated with their physique.

Don't tell anyone but there's more than 4 at AFCON.
