  1. Ok, so crap Southampton side and we’re already relegated but…. A WIN!!! Great to see the youngsters.
  2. FFS take Skipp off before he’s sent off!
  3. Brilliant goal!!! Well done Vards! Now get another.
  4. So hard to retain interest in this match. No youngsters involved, most of our best players injured or otherwise unavailable.
  5. Really good to see a gracious concession speech from Dutton and credit to him for that. This must be one of the best, strongest democracies in the world with a strong, well respected electoral commission and transferable vote system. The only dangers are external interference and the local billionaires, but both seem to have soundly rejected.
  6. I think the transition to renewables here in Australia should be much easier than over there with such an abundance of sunshine, wind and land. Renewables are falling in price so quickly that most people can potentially save money using solar, batteries, EVs, air-sourced heat pumps, etc. I doubt it will be possible to stop process now with this much momentum.
  7. I’d have preferred a stronger Green vote personally, but well satisfied with what has happened. Hopefully this will finally put paid to the Climate Wars that the conservatives have waged for over decade.
  8. Hopefully just a reaction to a somewhat poorly managed start (AFAICT) by Labour. Perhaps they’ll turn things around by the time of the next election.
  9. Thankfully Aussies have firmly kicked Peter Dutton and his conservative coalition to the kerb. Divisive culture warrior and climate change denier (he does pay lip service to it, but through gritted teeth), he would have done everything in his power to sabotage the Australian transition to renewables. He’s projected to lose his seat 😂
  10. She’s like a Trump mini-me spewing a firehose of bullshit that it’s impossible to keep up with
  11. Yes, I was referring to Australia, and for the foreseeable future. Perhaps when technologies have matured elsewhere to the point of becoming economic and something more than vapourware they could be used here. But there is so much sunshine here I just don’t think it’s required yet.
  12. I’m starting to believe that even in suburbia here in Perth it might soon be possible to go off grid without the need for a generator. With a suitably sized solar array and battery a household can be arbitrarily self sufficient. In the rare event that there is insufficient sunshine, an electric vehicle and Vehicle to Home (V2H) could be used to import KWhrs from a nearby EV charger if required. I’ll certainly be looking into the economics of this in a few years time when the tech is a little more settled. Totally convinced now that Australia really doesn’t need nuclear for the foreseeable future to transition away from fossil fuels. All that is required is the political will, and a rejection of the fossil lobby lies and propaganda.
  13. Anyone seen any of Trump’s sycophantic cabinet meeting where each of them take turns telling him how wonderful his first 100 days have been? It really is excruciating cringeworthy. Kim Jong Un would blush.
  14. Don’t forget a total lack of empathy, integrity and veracity. Edit: Oops, forgot greed.
  15. 👍I think I’ve filled in practically every other match, but at this stage it’s just more of the same. Roll on next season.
  16. Best of luck to Jamie Vardy for the future. A shame he’s leaving at the end of such a shite season but not his fault and anyway I think I’m right in saying that he’s still our highest scorer.
  17. Can’t even be arsed to fill this in
  18. He’s saying that through gritted teeth. In practice he’ll undermine the transition to renewables as much as he can. His “nuclear strategy” is aimed at precisely that.
  19. The alternative, if the US heads further in its current trajectory is to become a vassal state.
  20. Just break with the US any tell Trump to fùck off!
  21. I seem to remember that there was no short of comments in these pages prior to the US election poking fun at those of us who feared that America was flirting with fascism and making accusations of overreaction.
  22. Never ceases to amaze me that these gestapo types seem to spring out of the woodwork fully formed as soon as an authoritarian regime arises.
  23. A really malignant actor on the world stage, zero empathy, zero integrity, and surrounded by a collection of yes-men/women, morons, lunies, and equally malignant types.
  24. Where has this tenacity, effort and positive play been all season? Good effort from a team all but relegated.
