Gonna be a bad fire season here in Perth by the looks of it. Only November and fires already. Forecast 39c tomorrow and similar for about a week.

I think a lot of people of your generation aren't as in love with cars as previous gens. Good thing too from an environmental perspective. Also probably much cheaper (particularly these days with Uber and other services) than running a car and encourages walking as you say.

Nice to see Harry doing well. I’d love to see him make a go of it with us. The problem is that we have a surfeit of relatively slow CBs, so what we really need is someone with a bit of pace.

I had a similar experience. Eldest learnt to drive and eventually passed his test but had absolutely no interest in driving. The only time he actually drove since passing his test he had minor accident in a traffic jam and hasn’t driven since. Fortunately for him the world seems to have accommodated his preferences and he just Ubers, trains or buses, and is happy doing so. Now lives an urban life near pubs and restaurants so doesn’t seem to need a car. The other son couldn’t wait to drive, passed his test at the earliest opportunity. I think sometimes parents (particularly in modern times) beat themselves up for not parenting properly and blame themselves for everything’s their kids do wrong, but when you do the same things with two different children and get chalk and cheese results, you realise it really isn’t all about you.

What? If you really must know, my sister had some cold like symptoms. As we look after my aging father between us she tested to see if she had Covid and it was positive. As I had been in contact with her I tested and was also positive. I didn’t want to pass it on to my wife as she has been waiting for some time for a hospital procedure and having Covid could mean that she might lose her slot (we don’t really know). Anyway, I have been isolating from her to avoid passing it on and this has been successful. I’m not symptomatic after 14 days, but still testing positive and still don’t want to risk giving it to her if I can. So I was enquiring if anyone might have any information. Is that Ok with you?

Amazing how some people seem to get so worked up about other people testing themselves trying not to unnecessarily spread a virus to potentially vulnerable people. If you don’t want to test then don’t. I’m doing so for specific reasons that I outlined above. The only thing I’m interested in is whether I’m infectious and likely to pass it on to others. If I am infectious I would prefer not to pass it on. I don’t see why that’s so controversial. I’m not symptomatic, so testing is the only way to determine my status. My original question above was simply to see if anyone had thoughts on whether being positive after 14 days meant I was still infectious. It amuses me that it seems to offend the libertarians. From the point of view of society at large, it’s true that it isn’t necessary unless hospitals are threatened with being swamped, which doesn’t seem to be likely now.

Foxes Hub – The Place To Watch Leicester City Live!

Yep, a million porno sites can get this sorted (so I’m told ), but not the club or EFL or whoever’s running this thing. -
I’m in Australia so perhaps it’s different here. I’m significantly overweight, approaching 70 and am suspected of having rheumatoid arthritis. It’s still putting some people in hospital and I’d rather suffer a little inconvenience than put others at risk if I can. In my particular case I am helping look after my 95 year old father (he got it anyway from my sister, but shrugged it off ). My wife is waiting on a hospital procedure tomorrow so we’ve tried to avoid her getting it in case it causes her to miss her slot, so I’ve been isolating in a separate section of the house. Seems to be successful as she’s been clear all along. I doubt whether many people are testing now, especially as RATs are not being handed out free. There’s been quite an outbreak here in Perth and a couple of hundred in hospital I think. Not sure how that compares with colds and flu at this time of year (spring).

Finally got Covid, and had just a very sore throat for a couple of days after taking the antivirals. After 7 days I tested negative and assumed it was done, but the next day tested positive again, and I’m now 2 weeks in and still positive with no symptoms. Am I still actually infectious? I don’t want to spread to others as I realise that though I’ve had a mild reaction, some people might not. I was wondering if the antivirals perhaps clear most of the infection without the body learning how to do so, so residual virus then reinfects until the body has gained more immunity, thus prolonging the positive period.

It would be helpful in this thread if those making declarative statements on the Middle East could give an idea of where their expertise comes from. Do they have roots there? Do they know people from the region? Have they studied the region or have some role?

1 match ban due to accumulation of yellows

Wiggo? I like it 😂

Lacked urgency apart from the 10 mins preceding their goal. Our goals have dried up. Need to have a plan b.

Nacho doesn’t seem interested. McAteer very rusty and a liability when defending. Choudhury offers nothing going forward.

Another nondescript half. We’ve lost something recently. Perhaps Ndidi?

Hope he’s got the balls for the fight

Pretty much yes. Can’t stand them and they are getting worse and worse. Can’t go back to ads.

A third of the season gone - your thoughts?
WigstonWanderer replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Absolutely can’t grumble at the points tally. As for performances I thought we started poorly but got away with it. Had a brilliant middle patch when it looked like Enzo’s new style would sweep all before it, then went back to playing pretty averagely but getting away with it. Hopefully we’ll start to dominate again once Ndidi and the others get back. Still not convinced any of this will work in the PL, but that’s for another epoch.- 85 replies
