  1. It does depend on what things you need or want on the holiday but I can recommend Northumberland.
  2. That's pretty much what we've gone for, but with 500mb broadband, phone and multi room and it's £50.
  3. Does anyone know any helpful Russians
  4. I'm not sure if it's too late for you. Our package just increased by £42 a month to £114. Without any notification! I used the chat and was immediately offered the same tv/phone deal with better broadband for £78. As we don't watch half of the tv included, I've swapped to Sky Essentials and an even better broadband package for £50. The first package was offered straight away, I did have explain the other options I would like and what I would get with Virgin. Thankfully, 'chat man' offered an equivalent, and we don't actually have to switch to Virgin 😁
  5. We've some using the frame of a garden chair. The plastic stopper top thing is missing on one and I was confused to see a leaf dissappear into it. I remembered this thread and watched for a while, sure enough a few other bees and leaves followed.
  6. April to September... I remember looking a pictures of England during the Golden Jubilee and the media stating how impressive the flags and decorations were. It was minimal compared to NI on any given summer (We didn't have flags in the village where i lived but plenty of surrounding towns did).
  7. Or Chelsea and Fulham.
  8. I used to love flying but I'm a lot more nervous these days. All of the destinations on my list of places I'd love to visit involve flying, so I do it. I do plan trips so they involve the least hassle, parking meet and greet, fast track security etc. The fact that one of my next flights is India to Gatwick is partly on a Boeing isn't reassuring. Hopefully, Emirates have increased maintenance checks. They are also flying me to Shanghai again, partly on a Boeing. Both are a 777 though. In the middle of those I've Air China, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines flights, no indication of the planes involved and I might not look before boarding.
  9. My Dad still has a couple of these in use. I image if you'd included the actual bike I'd be saying that it's like his. Although, he's also got an e bike too these days. I do sometimes wonder if you're just taking pictures of stuff at my parent house 😂
  10. Trouping the Colour. I never cease to be amazed how impressive British military pageantry is. Irrespective of your Royal opinions, the military parades are a spectacular operation.
  11. Absolutely @Parafox I find an awful lot of information and learn a lot on current news that isn't included in general media news.
  12. Sly Stone, lead of Sly and the Family Stone died. Absolutely not to be confused with Sly Stallone, if reading the BBC breaking news notification quickly... certainly don't tell anyone Stallone has died after doing so
  13. Yes, you still get a text or email to advise where your donation has gone. It is a good feeling. Equally, I know how grateful you feel when it's a family member that is a recipient.
  14. In principle, means testing the winter fuel payment was a good idea. Multimillionaire Sir Paul McCartney doesn't need us to pay him £300 to afford to have the fire on. And, he's probably in the Bahamas in winter, anyway! However, the threshold was ridiculously low. I am actually surprised the new limit is £35K, I expected lower if/when there was a U-turn.
  15. I was just about to post that link. I'm even more annoyed now that I had to cancel my recent appointment. I was just going through the pre donation checklist and my holiday destination was a 'wait 4 months' not the 4 weeks I'd anticipated. Have to wait to August now and, I'm on my milestone 50th 😊 The blood transfusion service has just emailed a thank you mailing, with an illustration of the work they do. https://www.blood.co.uk/why-give-blood/who-you-could-help/keri/?utm_source=direct_marketing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nbwwhb4_2526&utm_content=story&utm_term=v1
  16. In addition to the possibility that you've saved someones life, you also get free biscuits 😋 it's a very worthwhile hour of your time.
  17. I was going to say that both bedrooms are really only a medium size, and you definitely wouldn't be converting one into two. But, I had a quick look at floor plans for a few other properties which came up as a comparison to yours. Some of the second and third bedrooms are only 9ft x 8ft or 8ft x 7ft. So, maybe you could with yours! I now see why the agent had our 8' x 6' 7" study listed as a potential bedroom. I had it demolished and integrated into the kitchen, as I said it was too small to be anything useful 😂
  18. A 2 bed detached house must be a difficult sale though, paying for the detached element but only 2 bedrooms. If you're a FTB and only want 2 beds, you could spend less and 2 beds isn't the next step, detached family home. And, there's a few of those for a similar budget.
  19. It didn't make my shirt list to actually buy but it's a great drive. Enjoy!
  20. Deported to Barnard Castle
  21. So, Donald has banned travel to the USA for 12 countries as the recent alleged terror attack in Boulder, Colorado "underscored the extreme dangers" posed by foreign nationals who had not been "properly vetted". The perpetrator of that attack was an Egyptian national. Egypt aren't on the list because Trump has close ties with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who has in the past been described by the US president as his "favourite dictator". Perfectly normal to have 'a favourite dictator' right, doesn't everyone?
  22. Apparently the Leicester incident was a group of people known to each other and a fight had already occurred within the event they were attending. So more of a domestic incident. However, with reference your second point. Yes, they absolutely are. And unfortunately a lot of them about.
  23. A car hitting pedestrians reported in Leicester last night with 4 people hospitalised.
  24. Can you put the freezer food in a family/friends freezer for a day? We just used everything up that we could before we moved. The fridge items went in a cool box with some extra ice bags. I would've loved a £1500 quote for removals, none of ours were under £5k! But it was 500 miles and took 5 days. And, I suspect the ferry cost for the lorry was £1k alone.
  25. If something goes badly wrong those things won't help at all. But, if it only goes 'a bit' wrong, they could help a lot. The problem with the BIB is that some people don't listen to or comprehend instructions very well. You only have to think of the queue and process for security that you do prior. Lots of signs and/or announcements. But, there's still always some nugget with a laptop/litre of shampoo at the bottom of their bag!
