  1. The USA gymnast, Jordan Chiles who's team appealed her score in the floor event, which was upheld and she received the bronze medal. A further inquiry has taken place and it seems the team filed it too late, by 4 seconds. I thought our 14 second cock up was bad! Unsurprisingly, the US are counter appealing. What a shambles.
  2. I couldn't find anything. Not sure if anyone else has managed.
  3. Silver in the women's 4 X 100m relay.
  4. Excellent. I think that's clear now..... not
  5. For those looking for parking, I've used YourParkingSpace.com. I booked a few weeks ago and there were a good few well priced options a 15 - 20min walk to the ground. Also, if you're going straight to the ground, last season they'd introduced lots of early bird deals for food and drink, if you arrived before 2pm. I can't remember the prices but they were reasonable and the food decent (this was in the Hammersmith end though, so might not apply in the away end).
  6. How is breakdancing an Olympic sport?
  7. Spent this morning completing online visa applications for USA, New Zealand and Australia. The US ESTA system is far superior. Upload your passport, it populates every field and once you've confirmed you're not a terrorist. It's job done. Both of the others are multiple pages to be completed manually and then it's a right pain to get them to accept the photo you upload. Fortunately, all have been approved
  8. I find morning people are often very judgemental if you're not a morning person. We've people working on the house this week, arriving at 8am, it's been a challenge. And they're going to be working Saturday. I made a comment to someone about the early starts and got a right earful. I find the implication that I'm lazy just because I don't choose to be up at the crack of dawn uncalled for.
  9. I'd definitely follow the suggestion of taking a couple of builders to have a look and they'll be able to give you some ball park figures. You'll want to have the plumbing checked too. We took two walls down, both solid brick, one load bearing and one not. Both were 7 ish ft long, although the steel needed was 11ft and cost £5k ish. Long term it's usually more profitable to refurbish than buy ready done. As long as you don't go mad or find very expensive, unexpected issues, hopefully unlikely in an 80's house. It's a very rewarding experience though, when it's finished!
  10. No, just told off. On the naughty step until the next race.
  11. I think that Kerin might be the event for me, as long as I get the motorbike
  12. Bronze in the women's Kerin.
  13. In case any of you were thinking of trying to get general sale tickets via FFC, this is on the website General Sale* Fulham FC will be monitoring bookings and any tickets purchased by supporters who live in the vicinity of Leicester (and local areas) who do not have a previous booking history with us, will be terminated.
  14. It's quite exciting but I've absolutely no idea what's really going on in the Omnium race.
  15. The Chinese divers are just a different level. Both of their last dives scored over 100 points!
  16. Ours went up £120. I did make two claims last year and the pooch is now classed as mature so, not unexpected.
  17. The "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should" quote feels appropriate.
  18. We've got a skateboarder who's 50. Which I thought did think seemed a bit old when I read that this morning.
  19. It was obvious it would move but, I'm surprised it moves to the Friday night slot.
  20. She also won bronze in Tokyo, at just 13!! The Chinese girl who was also competing today was only 11. 11!!
  21. In the midst of the selling and buying angst, I'll share my good house news. The polycarbonate conservatory roof is in the bin Technically, it's actually in the van of the new roof fitters, enroute to be recycled. Hopefully, by Friday I'll have a new warm and insulated one.
  22. I'd expect the seller to replace it, like for like or give me a reduction in the cost, to enable me to buy the tyre. A working tyre or 4, was in the agreed price. Which is what has been suggested for the log burner. I thought with your cat story you were suggesting that he just accepts the seller can take it without recompense?
  23. It's not quite the same thing. A pet is a choice not a fixture that you're buying as part of the sale. If it's built in you can't remove it. Our buyers initially kicked up a fuss that we weren't leaving the cooker, they thought it was built in, as it was well fitted between some cupboards. It was easy for me to prove it was a free standing range. And we were allowed to remove. If we'd said we were taking the fridge, which was built in, we'd have been in trouble. Imagine going to view a car, it has 4 wheels. You agree a price. You go to collect the car and it's only got three. The seller has removed one due to a flat tyre. You're going to be out of pocket and not very happy. If Tommy has agreed to buy the house, including the log burner, that's the deal.
  24. If the log burner is mentioned in the sales particulars, it's part of the fixtures and fittings so, they can't just remove it. In the same way they couldn't just take the bathroom suite. Can you see it clearly in any of the pictures so you could look up the make / model and establish the cost? It's either replaced or financial recompense for you to do the work.
  25. Gold for Hodgkinson!!
