Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list
Torquay Gunner replied to Daggers's topic in General Chat
Just found out that ex ITV News Presenter Sandy Gall died the other day. He had an amazing career in front line journalism and along with Reginald Bosanquet and Alastair Burnett were instrumental, in ensuring ITV were the premier news channel back in the 70’s and 80’s. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/jun/30/sandy-gall-obituary -
Incredible that the victim was born in 1892!
-
Yes apparently so! 😳
-
Yes I imagine you got a few brownie points for that! I remember the name of David Court and I just googled that he was born in Mitchum and my dear Mum was born in Carshalton, which was just down the road. Was your wife’s Dad from North London?

As a young child lived in Finsbury Park/Stoke Newington so thankfully nearer Highbury than Tottenham. Never really been that keen on the Gooner moniker, which has only really been in common usage since the 1980’s.

I’m in Yorkshire now. 🤣

Yet to see one, still red in our area.

Chelsea signing two strikers will probably mean Arteta making a ridiculous bid for Nicholas Jackson. -
Don’t think it’s supposed to be an actual excuse. “Elsewhere” is indeed the problem.

All liquid is good apparently and yes many old people swear by a nice cup of cha. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/cLTJfg3fS7DvYWNxTDSB0s/can-hot-drinks-cool-you-down -
UK a long way off from Trump’s 5% of GDP demand.

Yes agree that the school was culpable also. Some very odd decision making all round.

Definitely a good thing that more police officers are held to account. Until very recently they would have probably just got a ticking off. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce8zyjdj067o

I imagine he replaces Jorginho, as the back up to Zubimendi if he actually signs! -
May well be, or he simply didn’t like his proxy being hit. In any event, civilians in both countries can for now not worry about bombs being dropped on their heads. Pity no one else has the same concern for the citizens of Gaza.

Most people including me (and I loath him) would like to believe in all his blundering, that he would actually achieve some good deeds. Whether this is one of them remains to be seen.

You gotta to be kidding me!

The mother is unquestionably a horror show, that much is clear. I might disagree with you on the level of responsibility though.
-
She was certainly partly responsible, however her daughter seemed to have had other people in her life, including a boyfriend who did n’t share her mother’s views. Very sad that her daughter chose to go down that path, but choose she did.

I was quite surprised at how good the first film was, so will be interested in this sequel.

WW2 was still a massive industry for comics and toys in the mid to late 70’s. I had most of the airfix armies including the Germans and Japanese.

I did have one, but can’t remember what the game was called?

It’s just a pity, that the leading players in these three malevolent governments can’t be dropped on a deserted island a la “Battle Royale” and batter each other senseless.
