  1. So the best of the sequels/prequels that followed Aliens?
  2. It's actually 4 FA cups! But yes we have our share of entitled idiots, as all clubs do.
  3. We don't want another bloody Chelsea reject in Raheem Stirling. 😡
  4. I accepted long ago that I am totally not the right person to have children, fortunately my partner who is a decade younger than me felt the same way.
  5. Just watched an intriguing BBC two part docu on Mohammed bin Salman, or MBS to his mates. It was like watching a video on Japan, the culture is so alien to western senses that it’s hard to grasp. Not a pleasant man and easy to see, albeit with a bit of luck thrown in, how he ascended to his position.
  6. RfK Jr is a proper oddball. Dead bears and brain worms are the least of it. He is not exactly a chip off the old block.
  7. Those stripes that have been added to teams shorts this season are appalling.
  8. For me it's not just about the crowds, it’s also about the quality. There are a lot of singers around that struggle to sing live. I have been to some big name concerts that have frankly sounded awful. A combination of poor acoustics and the singers limitations have been very disappointing when you have spend a fair amount of money on it.
  9. Thanks for the link, which I have still to look at. Having 4 out of the 6 Chief Justices appointed by Presidents, who both lost the popular vote, for me sums up the absurd nature of the US election apparatus. Maybe it needs a good overhaul and dare I say the addition of another major political party, which can only happen if there is a revamp.
  10. Of course Trump didn't win the popular vote in 2016, and the electoral college system to many people’s eyes seems arcane and antiquated. Apparently last year there was a poll, where 65% of Americans said the system should be changed in favour of the popular vote. It's probably very unlikely there will be any change and certainly the republicans, who it currently favours as they control more of the smaller states than the Democrats, are not likely to vote for it. The result this time around is bound to be as controversial, if not more so than in 2016 and 2020.
  11. I have watched a fair bit of CNN and of course they lean left, but they are not maniacal. Same goes for NBC. I am not that familiar with any others. Fox, however appear to be in entirely their own(MAGA) bubble and that's the difference for me.
  12. Yes Fox in particular are virtually unwatchable, they might as well be wearing ear bandages and MAGA hats.
  13. Completely understand, but as you're getting the interviews the law of averages has to kick in at some point.
  14. Cannot abide Romero, absolute s**t stirrer.
  15. 1980 around the time of the greatest (imo) Wimbledon final of all time Borg v McEnroe. Oh yeah and we lost to West Ham in the cup final. 😩
  16. I believe you can get a decent result, they are only bloody Spurs after all. 🤪 Btw don't all pile on if they get lucky!
  17. Sadly it has gone on for years in tinsel town, Michael Jackson was killed by his doctor and how many plastic surgeons take advantage of their clients who clearly have MH issues. It's all about money in that part of the world.
  18. Was on holiday in Malaysia years ago staying in a beach resort. There was a Muslim family on the beach, with mother wearing an abaya and hijab and their son, who was about 15 was hiding behind a tree, taking photos of the topless bleach blond German woman on a recliner. Interesting juxtaposition morally, you could argue he was in the wrong, or was she showing a lack of respect in a predominantly Muslim country. Anyway, I found it amusing. 🫣
  19. I had to give up on the 5th episode of House of the Dragon. One of the main strengths of GOT was the quality of the characters and the actors that played them, little finger, cersi, tyrion, so many interesting and multi layered characters. For me House of the Dragon lacked any real equivalent characters and made the entire show an absolute bore-fest. I know it's very popular, I just don't get why that is.
  20. Me too, if only you didn't have to open the jar over the sink, because they over did the juice. 😩
  21. Great night until you collapse in a dead heap!
  22. I don't think they should be named and shamed at 13, unless it is a a really serious crime like Murder. Let them take their punishment and hopefully learn from it. If they don't, we are sure to be reading their names in a few years anyway.
  23. This probably won't help by telling you there are many people out there in your situation, myself for one. I moved to a new county with my partner in March and it took us a couple months to sort the new house out. I have not worked since the move and I whilst I am only looking for a part time job (thanks to a small pension) it seems an impossible task. For my mental health and to try and meet new people, I started walking football back in May, but doing my second session I tore my groin and am still recovering from it. My partner is visiting her family in London this week and I am trying not to climb the walls. I just try and tell myself this is only temporary and life will get better. The football season I hope will be a welcome distraction. Anyway, I hope things can turn around for you soon.
  24. I have always liked Pereira, just a pity he is a bit injury prone. One of your most consistent players though and hope he can help you beat Spurs on Monday.
  25. Angel Islington and the main heartbeat of Upper Street has always been one of the better areas of London. It has long been considered as affluent and therefore certainly not poor. I was fortunate enough to work around there for 3 years in the late nineties and in my 18 years of working all over central London, it remains my favourite place( no bias of course!) However, just the other side of Highbury and Islington Station is Holloway Road, which is rather more unkempt and downtrodden.
