  1. Pretty impossible situation for everyone tbh. Currently going through similar, one of my family members has been (wrongly) accused of something and been charged after some 10 months of "investigating". Now he has to spend thousands of pounds, several days in court and the emotional stress of dealing with all this crap over the next year or so because of an accusation that is not only outlandish, it's completely mathematically impossible. I can't imagine it being any worse, but I guess if he was forced to not work that would make it so. Only have to look at Mendy from man City. How long was he going through all that? 2 years or so? And then found not guilty. Innocent until proven guilty should count for everyone, even footballers. Imo the main argument for protecting women should be that the courts, police etc etc take far longer than is needed. More resources needed, not sacking people based on accusations.
  2. Ridiculous goal. Bloody hell.
  3. Really enjoyed it. I was honestly sceptical on whether they could pull off a real life version but they've come up with some great twists.
  4. OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman will return as boss just days after he was fired by the board, the firm has said. The agreement "in principle" involves a new board members being appointed, the tech company added. And the world made sense again. Good job OpenAI employees, that board of donkeys owes you more than they know. And undoubtedly that means Microsoft get a seat at the table to hopefully curb their donkeyness in the future.
  5. It just all seems so odd. If the man has done something bad enough to get the sack, they need to come out and say it. You don't dismiss a leading man in AI from an AI company without good cause and then just stay silent.
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-67470876 The plot thickens. Staff at OpenAI have called on the board of the company to resign after the shock dismissal of former boss Sam Altman. In a letter, they question the board's competence, and accuse it of undermining the firm's work. They also demand Mr Altman's reinstatement. Bring back the boss or Microsoft has a ready built AI department instead of funding middlemen.
  7. Meanwhile.. Sam Altman is joining Microsoft, the tech-giant has announced, ending speculation he might return to OpenAI just 48 hours after his chaotic ousting. Less than 48 hours later one of the biggest tech firms on the planet snatches the old ceo up.
  8. The new guy is twitch's ex boss. Guy built a video game platform without any competitors and it grew to such heights in spite of him and not because of him. Completely out of touch with content creators and users. If he carries on the lalala attitude when AI is set to have investments and competition from all over, he'll be bad for OpenAI, really bad.
  9. OpenAI is reportedly set to name Emmett Shear as its interim chief executive just 48 hours after the chaotic firing of boss and co-founder, Sam Altman. How tf is that even possible?
  10. I bought one of the fire tablets on sale a couple of years back for my nephew to watch youtube on, good enough for that, but anything else I'd avoid, the fireOS is garbage and full of amazon bloatware, if you want it for android use i'd go for the acer or lenovo ones, more expensive but will be better overall.
  11. So do dogs. Watched one tear apart a duck at watermead not 3 weeks ago.
  12. Probably because they are most likely to reflect the shiteness of their owner and there's enough shitty people in the UK to equal enough shitty dogs. That and y'know the occasional mauling people to death. Cats >

    Dementia

Horrible disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Sorry for your loss. Watched my grandad go from one of the most steadfast and supportive men I've ever met to a shell of a man that couldn't even remember how to make a cup of tea. It's not even the watching good people slowly disappear that's the worst bit, I've never seen my dad more hurt in his life than when grandad asked him how his parents were doing. How far you have to be gone to not even recognise your own children. Heartbreaking. Give me a quick death over that any day. Let me sign something now that gives a professional the right to send me packing before I could hurt my family like that.
  14. A supermarket has become the first in the UK to go back to fully-staffed checkouts, axing almost all its self-service tills. All but two of Booths' 28 stores will see staff back on the tills the firm, which trades in northern England, said. The exceptions are two of its seven shops in Cumbria. The firm, which has 16 stores in Lancashire as well as outlets in Yorkshire and Cheshire, said it was responding to customer feedback. The fightback has begun.
  15. Caity Lotz is outstanding and it's a disgrace she didn't get the chance to finish this show. Probably the funnest watch of the arrowverse, especially when it decided to embrace the lighthearted side.
  16. A man has been crushed to death by a robot in South Korea after it failed to differentiate him from the boxes of food it was handling, reports say. It's time lads. In seriousness though, rip to the man. Always a risky job working on new technologies that people seem to take for granted.
  17. What car is this if you don't mind me asking? Seems a great price tbh.
  18. robbed lmao
  19. Can't get your monthly brown envelopes in when there's someone above you.
  20. Poch is an absolute fraud.
  21. These pretenders are shite lads.
  22. I remember taking william hill for a small wedge a few years back. Stoke vs some shitters in a cup gone to extra time, stoke went 2-0 up in ET but the odds were still 50/1 and open. Slapped a fiver on 2-0 and 3-0 and they ending up finishing 3-0 at 50's. Payed out no problems. Way I see it they take a 10-20% sitewide edge, if they're offering odds they should have to pay them out, **** up or not.
