  1. It's like people are forgetting all the 1-1 draws against average teams they've had in this unbeaten run. Would like to say it's just annoyance immediately after the game but not so sure!
  2. Yeh actually annoyed with that tonight. They really aren't all that and were there for the taking. We'll win the league because most teams are dross, but some lessons aren't being learnt.
  3. Looking forward to this. In truth, avoiding defeat would leave us pretty comfortable still - with this undoubtedly being us at a weaker position given AFCON/injuries/last game defeat. But we really haven't laid down a marker against a rival yet - the Soton result having come at a time when they weren't on the run they are now. Would like us to go stamp our authority over this one and put the league to bed. A win would have the table looking very nice indeed.
  4. The potential reason he wouldn't is that I don't think his stock will drop if Ipswich bow out in the playoffs. He'll be very sought after. I think Palace have got a good 3-4 years at least of finishing above Ipswich though. There are a few basket cases up there too, but you could easily see Brentford, West Ham, or even a newly promoted Soton/Leeds seeing if he'd want the move. I don't think he needs to rush.
  5. Definite pen, silly from the defender. They'd looked pretty solid too.
  6. Leeds will have to push to win this, might leave them vulnerable to a counter. Set up well for the last 20.
  7. Leeds really need to avoid the playoffs. They could smash it, and are in the top 3 sides in the division imo, but they're really volatile and I wouldn't be confident they'd get through the playoffs.
  8. They've come under a bit of pressure second half and a little lucky to not be 2-3. Would make for a tense ending. Not the worst result anyway ahead of Monday. It heaps tons of pressure on Ipswich.
  9. Changing dates on the reports would hardly be difficult. But like the Jonson transfer by Forest, or the Madders one by us, it allows clubs to get the best deals for their assets and not have to fire sell. You could argue that was an example of prudence from Forest in a sea of batshit decisions. Given the transfer bits are going to be a decent chunk of being above or below the line it seems odd to arbitrarily cut it mid window. If they'd sold Johnson pre-deadline and then gone out and spent £80m the next day would that have been a better financial decision?
  10. People were complaining it was freezing when it was 10°. I'm not optimistic!
  11. Not sad long term but the timing is horrible. Not great for his development either as he was surely in for a run of games.
  12. Isn't it a bit mad that FFP windows don't align with transfer windows closing?
  13. It's definitely the best season to get a 12 point hit if you're going to, but it would currently put them bottom on 8 points, 8 off 17th. I don't think they're playing as well as Everton to feel that confident about it.
  14. Just had a look at the remaining games for us, if we: Lose to Ipswich, Leeds, Southampton. Draw to WBA, Sunderland, Hull, Mboro. Win the rest (12, teams 10th and below). We'd finish on 105 points, near record points and a certain promotion and title. That would comfortably represent our worst form of the season too. Stop worrying and enjoy your weekend.
  15. Don't think we've seen signs of a star in his time with us, but very young and will no doubt improve. Think we've seen glimpses of a player but he's often looked the weak link in a team dominating the league (not today though!)
  16. Stop worrying about the rest, they're playing for second.
  17. Agreed. Think their booing of the correct pen call got to him and he bottled it.
  18. Despite me thinking he did alright today, he probably should have been the fall guy for the red. Maybe get someone like Yunus on who is a bit tidier on the ball, can move out left for balance, and keeps the Mavididi threat on.
  19. I was more annoyed about the confetti of yellow cards for pretty innocuous challenges. Pen was correct call, Abdul red was probably correct call, arguably he should have sent Thomas off too. Didn't get the sense that he was like control of the game.
  20. Definitely think we could have made changes to not only freshen up tired legs, but also rest some ahead of the Ipswich game. Not his best day for us, but he's had plenty of good days. Hopefully he learns from it.
  21. Was one of the better players today. Got himself about the pitch a lot and tried to cover people defensively. Scuffed his chance a bit but the movement was good.
  22. The goal in the second half should have been to control possession, instead we dropped deep and just tried to hang on. Easier said than done but don't think the absence of 1 should have meant we dropped to 25% possession. Perfect game to respond in Ipswich though.
  23. Thought we'd have tried to control possession in the second half but we hardly had the ball. Just sat back and hoped. Won't have to play with 10 very often but a lesson learnt.
  24. Lovely move. Mav cutting into the middle and Casadei occupying the space. I'm interested to see if we come out guns blazing second half, because there's space there for us.
