I don't care who leads the shows, how many POC or LGBTQ characters etc they have. What does annoy me is that they put so much effort into inclusion, and then offer up pitiful writing over and over again. It's getting to the point where I think they are actively more interested in having "girl boss" characters than a decent script. It somehow makes up for terrible writing because of durrr "girl power". Maybe that accounts for the high critic scores because, having watched it, I can't fathom the scoring one bit. Very few cared about Signorny Weaver fronting Aliens, or Carrie Fisher leading the rebellion because the films were interesting and had decent writing.

Partly, solely no. There is a board, a CEO, a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, a Finance Director, teams of accountants etc. All involved in knowing the rules in front of us, signing off budgets, spending, and signings, wages etc. Do you beleive for one moment that discussions have not been had, that they've not all seen the potential numbers? Do people really think Rudkin kicks open the doors to the boardroom, gives them a wink and says, "Trust me, guys, all in hand",... and then doesn't get sacked for it? Or is it far more probable that he's not been sacked because they are all well aware that they signed off whatever finances were on the table.

Come on, the vast majority will be on the scouted list from before Walsh went, plenty were linked before he went. There was about a 6 week gap between Walsh going and Mascia coming in.
-
He also has to do what his boss tells him. We freely chose to ignore FFP in the championship long before Rudkin was near the post. We continued to buy and overspend past what we should have and then came up with a beyond-iffy scheme to try and get out of it. Now, either the people running the football side and continually just doing what the hell they want and somehow managing to sign the cheques, or there are discussions at the board level that sign off a certain spend / course of action. It's pretty obvious since the beginning under Vichai, that they have been more than happy to roll the dice and deal with the consequences later. I'm starting to get the feeling that we're going to see exactly the same again this summer. Going for Potter is hardly the sign of someone with relegation in mind and keeping finances tight.
-
Of course we could have stayed within the rules (not that they even existed in the current format). We chose to spend big to keep players here like Kasper, Vardy, Maddison, Ricardo, etc. and buy players to go further than just be a midtable plodder; a sustained period of poor player recruitment messed us up.
-
I would suggest he’s indicated an interest and has at least entertained discussions to understand where we are at, but obviously hasn’t agreed to take it.
-
Ha I'm sure we had that in the house as a kid.
-
Reads as if he hasn't got a clue and is just repeating old news.
-
Put yourself in the shoes of the buyer; if they think we are desperate, they will lowball us last minute.
-
No, 3rd beind Planes Trains and Automobiles and Uncle Buck.
-
He didn't like him trying to a captain when we already had one.
-
It's absolute pish, he sat down with Ulloa and just pencilled in where we could get points. Then somehow it turns into him calling meetings and taking over from Pearson.
-
It wouldn't shock me if the board just say "feck FFP" and lets just roll the dice again. They have a history of taking a gamble (I'm talking owners not Rudkin who will just do as he's instructed). In which case they are probably dangling a decent carrot.

Nope, if you think Foxestalk is some sort of bastion of knowledge and great decision makers god help you.
-
Because we wouldn’t have got promoted in the first place.
-
I’m not turning my nose up at him, I’d be fine with either to be honest. Potter would probably be a preferred choice just about. Football is a weird beast, sometimes it works for people, sometimes it doesn’t. Ive given up thinking too much about it after Ranieri, who nobody wanted, won us the league ha.

I'm not sure if there is a chasm between them in terms of records. Cooper was highly thought of as a youth coach, winningf trophies with England. Cooper did a better job at Swansea than Potter. Potter did well at Östersund, Cooper did well at Forest. Cooper kept up a newly promoted Forest, Potter kept up Brighton (who had been in the league two years already). If you took away his last Brighton season, there would be a fag packet between them. That season gives him the edge, but he was managing a slick club in Brighton, compared the the Forest basket cases.
-
He also took over a team that had been in the league two years already, he didn't get them promoted. In his three years, they finished 15th, 16th and then obviously, the standout season being 9th.

Jeeeesh… every time one of those players leaves we get closer and closer to drawing the entire period to a close. Can’t believe he joined 10 years ago. Seems five minutes since everyone was moaning about what a rubbish signing it was (nothing changes). What a cracking bloke, a great player and brilliant servant to the club he’s been, the memories will never fade of the FA Cup, his champions league goals and the title win. Legend.
-
He wouldn’t sign a year or two, clearly. I’ve just explained all the sense in it. He could just be a squad player for three years, we still need those. I don’t know why it’s looked at like he somehow has to be a starter for the next three years. I’d have preferred a shorter contract, but it all depends on the wages. And if he wouldn’t sign it, we are stuck between a rock and a hard place because of our situation.
-
I’m not sure we have. The reality is we don’t have much to spend if we hope to comply with PSR. Another player gone, is another player to get, and it’s cheaper to keep what you have, plus it’s better for PSR not putting fees on the books. I’m fairly sure they will be aware it’s not ideal, but we are working to the situation we are in financially, with a squad that’s losing lots of players. And in a season that’s monumentally difficult to stay up, we are likely to have an eye on the fact we could go back down.
-
He barely played and every player was dog shite.
-
No mention of Ndidi, looking at an extension then?
-
If he’s on 50k a week, it’s about £8m over the course of the three years. And that’s if we stay up, clearly there will be a huge wage reduction built in for relegation. And relegation is something that people keep seemingly forgetting. If we go down, we have one of our better players last season still at the club. If he goes, then you need a replacement. If you got someone on 30k, that’s still £4.7m before any kind of fees. And who we buying for £3.3m on 30k a week that anyone is going to be remotely happy with. Plus any purchase goes onto the PSR calculation, which we don’t want. It’s a perfectly understandable financial and squad building decision, at this moment. Now in an ideal world you want your manager on board with it, or you would have the finances to just go and get better. But our situation is not ideal, in fact it’s pretty shit.

I would suggest that they would most definitely have rejected two years.
