Were they not 5 points clear of relegation when he was sacked?
-
Would you be happy with Corberan? From what I can see, he's done less than Cooper so far.
-
That is utter nonsense, I've never demanded success and neither have I asked for perfect football. I just don't want to be bored to death, I want to go and enjoy a game of football. I'm managed to enjoy plenty of football since I've been going down in the 80's, much of it wasn't perfect and it wasn't always successful.
-
I've already told you why: endless recycling of the ball, lack of movement and boring the opposition and most of your fans to death. Winning plenty of times by virtue of just having the most expensively assembled team in the championship ever, and many games relying on the opposition's shitness in front of the goal. I found huge chunks of it boring, many people found it boring... that does not equate to wanting to just hoof the ball forward.
-
So why was it as dull as dishwater to watch most of the time then?
-
I find this sort of stuff incredibly frustrating, whereby wanting to play with a bit more tempo somehow equates to a person being a dinosaur who yearns for the ball to be pumped 50ft into the sky at every opportunity. I'm all for passing football, but a prerequisite for that is to have movement. I'm sick of watching us, and there is so little movement when we're on the ball, which invariably leads to just plodding the ball about at the back. I'm also sick of certain "passing football" coaches when then drum every ounce of spontaneity out of players, to the point of not wanting to take risks, to not take on a player, to not make a run, even when it's blindingly obvious, they are the better moves to make, they check back and make an easy pass. Have a structure but allow some freedom within it, be pragmatic and don't expect players not good enough to do a certain thing, to do a certain thing!!!

Ric, look around the leagues. The amount of billionaires not actually in it for a profit, willing to risk their own cash can probably be counted on one hand. Whilst owners who are a total piece of shit and totally in it to attempt to reap a profit are ten a penny. Most burden the clubs with the debt they used to purchase it in the first place. Everyone should come under scrutiny, but the chances are a change at the top in terms of owner (unless we are very lucky and happen to find a state wanting to buy us, or unlucky depending on your view, ) is far more likely to lead to something worse, than better. That doesn't mean they should be exempt from scrutiny, far from it. But it shouldn't even be on the table, IMO unless something utterly unforgivable happened or a run of poor decision-making continued indefinitely. Nobody gets everything right.

Yes, people who run businesses or are in very high-up positions within businesses often don't get a holiday. Having run my own company for a while now, I've not had a single holiday where I've not been on my laptop or phone doing work. It comes with the territory, and I can do absolutely everything I need to do anywhere in the world, so long as there is an internet connection. It's a bit shit, but there are plenty of other upsides to make up for it. I can't believe that in this day and age, people are still whining about people not being chained to their desks.

And why do you think Cooper is like that? He left Swansea because of the direction they were going, how they failed to get him what he thought he needed. I really don't get the strength of the Cooper criticism. Once again, it seems like if he had a fancy name people would fall over themselves to hire him.

Vestergaard has played 100+ Games in the Bundesliga, 100+ Games in the premier league, won the championship as a key player in the team, played 41 times for Denmark. Forgive me if I think playing 25 games for Rochdale and Doncaster, and 5 for us as about 6th choice, isn't at this moment in time, a great indicator of him being a good first choice backup in the premier league.
-
We can have both.
-
It won’t suddenly make Ben Nelson a better player. I mean, what’s the faith in his ability based on?
-
In an ideal world, it would be prudent to wait. But if our budget is massively restricted, then I also totally understand the need to keep bodies we already have. We can’t sign anyone for a while yet, so it could all be noises from the club to keep him sweet. Knowing that a new manager might so no… but you don’t want to out out those vibes as he could just go elsewhere and then you lose a relatively cheap body for the books.
-
If Ben Nelson was as good as Vestergaard he’d have already played and been a part of the team… rather than what, 6th choice centre back, as it’s already been explained the last time this was brought up. F*** it let’s not give Vardy a contract, we already have Cannon and some kid we can just promote through the ranks.
-
Will his replacement play for free or something? We’d have to buy someone to replace him and then pay them. You don’t know what he’s asking.
-
Plenty, but it means being a bit more creative and looking perhaps where others don’t.
-
No, their thinking is very likely to be that we can’t afford replacements for everyone who could leave, as well as new better players. I don’t know why this needs explaining. If the club think we need 5 players, if he goes we need 6. So whatever budget we have gets spread thinner and thinner. Which is likely to mean worse players coming in.
-
I can only presume you weren’t a fan when Nigel Pearson was here rocking size 13 mighty whites and telling people to FOAD, and strangling opponents. That my friend is the epitome of Alpha male cool.
-
Just give it Copper and be done with it. Anyone who can get Forest promoted from where they were must be a certified genius. He's pragmatic and changes his position on what needs to be done with the challenge in front of him.
-
We simply have to, really. This season was going to be hard enough as it was, attempting to slip styles now would be risky. Not only that, but if we have been scouting for a load of highly technical players, there is no point suddenly getting a coach who may want a different profile of players. Whilst I didn't feel much about him going, it has well and truly screwed us up, considering we'd have spent the last 6 months basing most decisions around what he wants.
-
If he has a buyout, there is absolutely NOTHING we can do other than just go through the motions.

The hierarchy at Leicester do u trust them yes or no
Babylon replied to Kienan dewsbury croc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Trust them for what? I trust them on some things far more than others.. Every club makes poor decisions from time to time. When you do well you are victims our your own success and get asset stripped from top to bottom those decisions can come have to be made thick and fast. . To continually hire the right scouts, the right heads of recruitment, the right managers and the right players etc is impossible. It’s just not realistic. Generally I think we’ve got far more right than wrong in the department, the problem is when you do pick wrong, the consequences can be massive as we don’t have the money of the big clubs to spend our way out of it. I tend to think the issues stem from a small number of decisions that have compounded to cause a much bigger issue. We tried to compete when we probably shouldn’t and have been punished off the back of it. We could have gone safety first and just plodded around mid table flirting with relegation, but we rolled the dice. With hindsight, a terrible decision. But taking risks is what have given us so many good moments also. I think there is plenty to sort out, but generally I tend to fall slightly more to the positive side than the negative right now. But that can change quickly if there isn’t a coherent plan for the next few years to get a grip with the finances -
I was angry when McGhee and Little went, I was upset when O'Neill and Pearson went. I feel absolutely nothing at all about him leaving; he should be applauded for getting us promoted and back on track so quickly. Despite us spending money, it doesn't always go that way. But I just couldn't warm to the football; I'm tired of passing football when so often nobody actually moves for the ball, and all you do is recycle, recycle, recycle. It might be more attractive with better players, and he might succeed with Chelsea with better players... but that's the issue: if you don't have the players, at least accept you need to be a bit more pragmatic until you have them. Thanks and goodbye.
