After Maresca having such a stringent system of play, it was always going to be difficult for a manager to come in. However. Even taking that into account, I cannot see what his game plan is. On the ball there never seems to be any more than one viable passing option and off the ball, the press is completely disjointed if at all existent. Ricardo would provide a solution to all of this through his general play, game knowledge and leadership qualities all of which we saw in abundance last year. On the evidence of pre-season and the first three games, i’d be amazed if Cooper is still here come the end of the season.

3 games in, 1 point, overall assessment …

I wish I could see that, I really do and i’d very much like to be on here in a few games time, eating a massive slice of shit pie. Pretty sure there’s just going to be reinforcement of the notion that Cooper was a disastrous appointment. -
So very average.

We’ve mostly been rubbish in the three games. Even when we’ve looked ok, we very much look like a Championship side ‘giving a good account of themselves’. Our best players from last season are looking pretty rank, needing too much time on the ball and the passing is just atrocious. Todays game we really saw what a mountain we have to climb. John McGinn is a very average Premier League midfielder yet was light years above anything we had on the pitch. -
Never going to happen at this stage which is a shame. Good player.

If he signs the media team should do his reveal video to the tune of ‘Its raining men’

Wanya Marcal - loaned to De Graafschap

No. -
Whilst I don’t think much of him as a player, if a replacement isn’t happening, this is just ridiculous.

The ‘getting better from not playing’ argument is perpetuated when people say things like, ‘his movement it exceptional’. He scored a couple of good goals against pretty crap opposition when he first came into the team and then proceeded to fade like a pair of black jeans from Fame Fashions.

We’re obviously not going to sign him. Zaha, Hlozek, Greek guy. This is just a prelude to disappointment. -

Really disappointed that this is who we're looking at. I mean, i've no idea who he is or if he's any good, but i'm really disappointed. -

If it was Ayew coming on instead of Soumare last night that would have improved that situation no end. Bit of a Moneyball signing. -
Oliver Skipp - confirmed official

He would have had offers no doubt. To think otherwise is only to promote bias. -

Ndidi and Hamza make sense for different reasons. Ndidi needs no time to settle in, acclimatise etc. He’s good to go and is definitely a mid to lower half Prem player. If we go down, he becomes a saleable asset. If we go down, Hamza is a top half Championship player. This season, he’ll be a break glass in case of emergency player and if by some minor miracle we survive, he’ll be sold to a Championship club. For a change, these decisions to me look thought out and planned. Rudders is still a pure bellcheese though. -

Moaning. The cornerstone of modern football support. This would be a dreadful signing if we were in the top 6 pushing for Champions League, but guess what??? We aint. In our current situation, this is probably as good a signing for our midfield as we could hope for. If we land Ayew and if the Zaha mess gets sorted, we give ourselves a good chance to survive. Soule, Hlozek, the Greek guy. Absolute pie in the sky transfer attempts. Survive this year and MAYBE next year that profile of player we can target. For now, think of an over elaborate chant for Skipp that about 200 people in the stadium will sing. We are what we are. -

Too soon to hit the panic button?
Realist Guy In The Room replied to SafewayFox's topic in Transfer Talk
I've hit the button, broken it, called an engineer out to fix it, found out the part is from China, waited 6 weeks for the replacement, called the engineer again, replaced the button and hit it again. -
Break out the free donuts.
