Birchenall was a top centre-forward for Sheffield United, Chelsea and Crystal Palace but he rarely scored for us. Pure joy when he scored the injury time winner at The City Ground to beat Forest 2-1 (Weller scored our other). 8,000 City fans - most right next to the trent end due to faulty gates (kicked in!!) - went ballistic! Pure Joy!

The strangest thing about this goal was that, despite the 'bundle' (as clear a foul as you could ever see), VAR refused to over-rule the ref, Sebastian Crighton-Lawes, stating that it was NOT a clear and obvious error!

The only time I went to Hillsborough David Nish scored twice and Ally Brown got the other in a 3-0 win. I missed the first goal (hitching lifts was not the most reliable mode of transport) and walked in just as Nish's 30 yarder hit the net! What a midfield pair that day: Kellard and Carlin - both as hard as nails!

Castagne Evans Barnes Maddison Tielemans - All premier league (could even include Thomas in that) Soyuncu Mendy Tete - all top euro competitions. Thats 8 or 9 Then there's twenty odd in the squad that's taking the championship by storm - surely even a half decent manager could've kept that lot comfortably in the top half of the Premier league, and not constantly moaned about lack of quality.

I reckon that Preston's other half-back (No 6) also became a LCFC manager! A certain Mr Frank O'Farrell!
