the football nerd part of me wants to see him in the centre of a back 3, koeman role
-
40 points then reassess from there, ranieri style

According to whoscored, vardy averages 1.6 shots per premier league game while Harry Kane averages 6. Only 3 goals separate them. Imagine if vardy played in a team with as much possession as Tottenham

Riyad Mahrez - The great Artist

He honestly hasn't played bad in many if not any games this season, defensively he's been much better than previous seasons. It just seems if he scores or assists everyone loves his performances again, he's so much more than that. -
Runs with the ball so well, defends decent, if he could cross we'd have another attacking outlet for teams to worry about. A long time since we've been able to say that at this club with a fullback...

but they weren't that skinny

you'd think they're going for sanchez instead? -
Suggesting Mahrez hasn't performed compared to the season we won the league due to him being a "flair player" is insulting. The man plays in a team where he has to be the main outlet of creativity, if he was in the man city team where they actually keep the ball he'd have more goals and assists, and no one would be calling him lazy, its the players surrounding him that's the problem. The man city players aren't any fitter than ours, but having technical ability and being able to pass the ball without looking like a rabbit in the head lights means they'll often have to run less, mainly their defenders, attackers I'm sure will run more due to the amount of chances they create; however that's why once the game is 2-0 and in the 60th minute they can take off their tired players. Players like Barnes, Iborra, Mahrez, Gray etc could lead to a transition in play to allow for us actually have more than 50% possession in a game. Football is a game that attracts mistakes, you don't need a Kante, keeping the ball can be better than winning the ball; if that makes sense.

Quality of signings, not quantity for January. We got a great squad on paper, if anything it needs trimming in places.
-
not sure we need a left back, especially a player so injury prone as Shaw is. Its a right back we need.
-
its time we moved on from our stereotype of our players all "putting a shift in" and develop technically as a team, with no disrespect to players like albrighton, theres definitely a glass ceiling for players known for just graft. Barnes, gray, mahrez, iborra, Maguire and hopefully silva can be at the forefront of the transition of style of play.

Very hard to stand out against that Man City team. Different animal to last year, they'll probably win the champions league. some of his touches like always were incredible, he'd suit Barcelona down to a tee. -
maybe an out of date fact, but pretty sure we had the most goals from set pieces. Something we've admittedly been sh*t at for years; to further improve james ward-prowse could be a healthy addition for the team, can play on the wing or anywhere in midfield and obviously deliver a quality ball.

iheanacho 2 assists 1 goal vs argentina
-
I think we could be seeing a few u23s players in December time around the festive period
-
Never knew puel managed benzema, pretty much a confirmed signing for us then
-
If we sell ulloa we do not need another striker ffs we've got vardy Okazaki iheanacho slimani... who are all very good strikers, aswell as having multiple players who can play a game or two there If need be. It's the midfield and defense that needs working on, just a little strengthening and youth prospects to replace the old eventually.
-
Slimani can't be sold to a premier league rival, he's more than capable of getting 15 goals in this league with the right service. I'd expect our money back atleast. I hope Claude puel doesn't dismiss him early on. It'd be disrespectful to say he's a 'plan b' kinda striker, but he's got the potential to be the starting striker with the right tactics.
-
I'd like to see him as a no.10 at some point
-
If we spent big on a new centre back and right back along with a bonus of Ben arfa id be very happy. Spending lots of money on attackers is great but we definitely need to build on our aging defense
-
So suppose not that surprising, but Wilfred n'didi has the most tackles per 90 (4.2) with Merino and Kanye with 3.9. hope he gets a long break soon with some rotation of players.
-
Will never forget the hattrick he scored on my birthday, was one of if not my favourite player. Steve Howard somewhere close ?
-
I should hope George Thomas would be looking good, he was playing first team football this time last year!

Forgot to mention this one but sol bamba played blinder a few days ago, in holding midfield against Leeds... no idea why he doesn't play CDM all the time
