Without the clean slate Winks doesn’t come on yesterday and he changed the game. As did Faes with his goal. Rightly or wrongly a new manager is always going to give everyone within the squad a new opportunity to impress.

If he can stay fit I’d have Ricardo in midfield with Winks. Unfortunately I think he’ll continue to pick up injuries.

He is proactive rather than reactive. Could have easily kept Skipp on. Seems like he’ll learn from his mistakes which is completely opposite to Ruud. Getting Fatuwo and Mavididi to come inside in the second half made a huge difference. On another day we win that game by 4 or 5.

It gives the flexibility of switching who plays up front. I get the feeling he’ll start Ayew. I’m not sure if Ricardo will be fit for this if not Winks in for him.

I know we get a lot wrong as a club but it’s looking like we got it spot on selling Cannon for 10m. 1 goal in 16 games since joining Sheffield Utd.

With Coady going that’s 2m and the wages we’ve saved around 4-5m it’s a no brainer to get Kone. So I fully expect us to announce the signing of Bamford in the next couple of days.
