What’s Puell doing these days? Even he would be an improvement.
-
Wish we could call off the hiring of this manager.
-
I mentioned Sargent a couple of weeks back. I read somewhere in our press though that Norwich has placed a ridiculous value on him and scared off Bournemouth , which is where he was linked.
-
I'm guessing he's been available to them since the window opened but he was about the 10th choice because the price tag was so high. 9 strikeouts later, here we are. Giddyup. I suppose the good news is he's got talent.
-
In one of those Amazon docs when Mourinho was at Spurs, I remember him praising Winks the same way.
-
How about Josh Sargent at Norwich? Figured in both their goals yesterday, only 24. 16 goals in Championship last season. Also rumored to be available.
-
Well let's see, they've got less talent than they finished the season with and you would figure that moving to the Premier League would require a talent upgrade. Daka is still on the roster, Vardy is hurt and there are no proven goal scorers in line to step in. And there's no AM on the roster and a points deduction is coming. And Ward looks to be one injury away from being GK1. Other than that.....

What are your expectations for next season?

Let's just say the results to date are somewhat less than ecouraging. -

I didn't watch the first half but from what I could see, Kristiansen looked to be the main positive. -

When do we move on from Daka? -
Only thing that bothers me is Atalanta seems to be a much better run outfit at present and that's a heck of a fee for a guy who probably wasn't going to play for them anytime soon. But he also fits the description of the type of guy I think they'll need to have in order to survive. They need some steel - opposite of Faes and some others we've featured.

This is the path back to prominence. Young talent acquired at a fair price. If accurate, I feel a little better about this whole situation.
-
My guess is Bologna is going to wind up selling a couple of players and won't be as good next season. If you agree with that, then a return to the EPL for him may be somewhat enticing - granted with no European football. I'd hold my ground in terms of a price. We could very well use him.

Bring Puel back
-
There should be a 'Chelsea Tax' on any transaction done with them - at least +10%.
-
Can we do a swap of him for Petrovic? He'd be fine. He just doesn't distribute it the way Enzo likes.
-
I don't begrudge him leaving. The job keeping us up was going to be every bit as hard as getting Chelsea to Champions League and the resources, not to mention pay, are significantly better there so were it me, I'd leave too. I'm just not very confident in the club's ability to find the right replacement.
-
It strikes me that Chelsea hasn't done their homework on Maresca. If they did, they'd realize that he's too wedded to his style and doesn't react well when the game plan isn't working. He's also going to be competing against a much better set of opposing managers than he did this past season. First set of bad results fans will be grumbling that he's in over his head. If Enzo goes, I predict that Chelsea sacks him before Christmas. And at this point, I think I want him to go.
-
It's intriguing to me that a club that's spent like drunken sailors the past couple of seasons under Boehly is now going el cheapo with the managers they are reportedly looking at.
-
Should've found a way to keep Lookman! That 3rd one was a rocket.
-
Enzo's agent has to be pushing this. I'm fine either way with him leaving. He did a good job but I'm not sure he's up to the next step given his lack of flexibility.
-
i think Enzo may be greasing the skids for an exit. Enzo ball will only work in the Premier League with that talent to play it and right now the club needs talent and may not be able to acquire it. And if penalties etc are going to prevent a serious talent upgrade, Enzo probably shouldn't return. Best to sort this out now.
-
Congrats Enzo. You did it!

Very appropriate that I post that just as #4 goes in.
