I’m not inspired by Dyche, nor do I want him as manager. I’ve been quite clear on numerous threads what our new manager looks like - mainly just not Dyche, Martin etc. But, something I feel we need to do regardless of who comes in, is support the manager and get behind him until it is no longer feasible to do so. The club is a mess, the hierarchy and the squad are the issue. The fans are most definitely not, and have been shafted for a few years now. But… And this is me being reflective… We do have a habit of turning quite early. Not a criticism, just an observation, one I am guilty of. If we are really honest, we never gave cooper a chance, and in a way it forced the boards hand. Now, cooper should have never been here in the first place, I’m sure we can all agree. The board messed up and were naive and short sighted and lazy. But the daggers were out from the start and I don’t think there was any way he could be successful. If it is Dyche, which I hope it isn’t, we need to try and be a bit patient and just see what the next few months hold. There are certainly some positives to be found in his coaching history, many which people on here have pointed out, leading to many people actually wanting him in. Everton has been a mess for ages. Yes many will point to the transformation under moyes, but it’s important to remember that Moyes return coincided with an absolute loon of an owner walking out the door. It’s a new dawn at Everton, which I think has been part of their uptick in performances.

He’s not a name as a manager though and I think that’s the issue. He’s got no authority as a manager and that’s more what I was getting at, I just don’t think I worded it correctly. I think we are on the same page.

We are in the real of tin foil hats here, but… could Ruud still being employed by the club be because the club is going to be sold, and the new owners will want their own man in, meaning we wouldn’t sack and replace ruud just yet? back to the names… Urs Fischer, and the others on the original “list” that kept getting pasted about would be great. if we are looking outside of that list, which I think we definitely are, then it has to be someone like cleverley, wellens, mousinho, manning etc. it absolutely cannot be Dyche or Martin. my worry is that with so many big time Charlie’s at the club, they will not respond to or respect a manager who isn’t a big name.

Do you not remember him saying he was using the club as a stepping stone to get a move to Barcelona?

Let’s hope the vardy one against ipswich is the best one yet!

Deserves a crack starting on the left next season. Been one of our better players in the last few weeks, even though he hasn’t done anything spectacular. Takes a lot to come from where he has been to how he has performed in the last few weeks. I wouldn’t be looking at any full backs coming in unless we can pull of something special like that madhead Brazil u20 that was posted on a suggestions thread. Or unless several leave. rights backs need to be Ricardo and woyo. left backs Thomas and maybe Justin if we can’t shift him.

I can get behind this.

The Best And Worst Goalkeepers We've Had.
dooflip replied to Parafox's topic in Leicester City Forum
The interesting thing here is whether we are grading them purely on ability, or what they have done for the club. similarly with vardy being hailed our best ever player. I think he is and back that, but mainly due to his service and what he has done for us alongside his ability. If we were purely going on ability then several other players would be in the mix. I’m going on the whole package and voting kasper. We have been a bit spoilt for keepers though for a club of our size. Ward easily the worst ever. -
We need to get rid of ayew and bobby asap. We are sorted out wide next season. Same goes for the goalkeeper. And dare I say it, Luke Thomas the starting left back. Nelson and souttar will be fine at the back. What little money we have to spend has to go on the best striker and central midfielders we can possibly get. We don’t need any squad fillers or back up. We certainly don’t need any more “experience”. Blow the whole budget on the best striker and couple of central midfielders we can possibly get - young with a high ceiling.

Wrexham should be playing against tns mate. They shouldn’t be allowed to play in our league system. Something I am very passionate about. It’s fine for the whole “Welsh pride” and anti England thing when it suits, but they pick and choose. Complete hypocrites. All or nothing. I trolled a bloke on Facebook last week saying they were better than vardy and didn’t want him, and that they should be buying young exciting Welsh talent for that very reason. What they have done is a complete joke. Wrexham are tin pot and just a novelty act/gimmick because of their owners. They are literally nothing without them. They are trying to be a Man Utd club and have the minority of the fanbase actually based/from/have family ties or some kind of genuine affinity for the area they support. The same reason I struggle to take anyone “supporting” a team they have no real ties to seriously. How can you be from Leicester and support Liverpool or Manchester? And not your own city? It makes zero sense to me. oh because they were a good team and winning everything when you were a kid? Plastic fans. Majority have barely been to any games. Support your local club. Even when it comes to following teams in other countries, I can at least say I’ve been to a game or two. The main one I follow (though not liked I used to due to life commitments) is benfica - I lived in Portugal for 4 years as a kid, when I started school the presidents son was in my class. Second week living in Lisbon I was sitting in the presidents box. Went to loads of games in my time there and met many of the golden generation.

Realistic targets are constantly moving goalposts. I know we had the famous “list”, but honestly I can’t see any of them coming to us. Some obscure names from the continent have been mentioned, and I can’t say much about them because I don’t really know much about those leagues. I’d certainly rather take a punt on one of those than the usual tripe we get linked with though - Dyche, Martin, Farke. of the realistic domestic targets, Rohl, mousinho, Muslić, and maybe wellens and challinor would be the ones I’d have on the shortlist. Still salty we didn’t get corberan when we could, and many more before him. the dreamland box office appointment for me last summer was sarri, I think this summer it would be ange for me.

Nothing about America is legit mate.
-
It can’t be Americans. No more American owners in the English game. They are trying to destroy in, and in numbers will create a closed shop with no promotion and relegation.
-
Did the identity of the mysterious party who remained secret when we got bought ever get revealed? From memory, vichai and top were just the face? iirc we were linked with the how to buy a football club years ago and some other dodgy stuff. Could well be some weird ish going on under the surface.

At least we will press! Not his biggest fan, but was very impressed by a segment he did on MNF a while ago, and am convinced he would have been a better appointment than Dean Smith.
-
I read it was, apologies.

Weiper is a free agent in the summer. Currently at Mainz. Probably will get much better offers though.
-
Alfie Doughty free transfer. No brainer.
-
Apart from a few (mads, bilal, Abdul) and we just need to accept whatever clubs are offering and get them gone, and start again. Build a cheap young squad with young and hungry players. Even if we don’t go up straight away, it’s the way to go.
-
Because that would be logical, and we are Leicester city.

Expectation and entitlement.
dooflip replied to João Miguel da Cunha's topic in Leicester City Forum
The only thing I expect and feel entitled to is watching a team being competitive. I don’t think that’s unreasonable. Being relegated on game week 37 or 38 by a few points would be gutting, but also acceptable in comparison to what we have been served this season. We would nurse our wounds, pick ourselves up and go again knowing we gave it a good go, and there would be a bit of positivity knowing that we nearly did what we set out to do. Instead, it’s just been fking embarrassing.
