It's a mixed bag isn't it, the problem is the negatives are repetitive. Spurs, he got the set up totally wrong (which fair play to him he admitted) Got us playing excellent counter attacking football 2nd half, credit to him. But then when spurs were on the ropes he bottled it and settled for the point. Fine it's game 1 against spurs, I get it but he didn't seize the moment in front of him. Fulham set up was OK, Justin is just a bit rubbish, but we got back into. The game then just drifts, it's crying out for either team to do something to influence it, he does nothing we go 2-1 down then he reacts too late. Again poor in game management, not spotting the opportunity when it's there, staying safe at all costs until it's too late. Villa set up was wrong at home, the fight was there but the quality around the box wasn't. Again waits until we are 2 down before trying to influence the game, we were unlucky not to get a point, but his team selection left us devoid of Premier league goals until it was too late. And today, credit to him for the first half, but the game is 90 minutes and he dropped a clanger by going so defensive, inviting so much pressure something was bound to happen, yes it's a coady mistake, but you are not setting the team up in a way to give them the best chance in the last 20, it's just not how good managers in top leagues play anymore, save that for the football league. So in every game he's got some things right, we've been in every game and there is definitely some fight, but also his missed opportunities in all 4 to go for it, far too cowardly to act and waited for his hand to be forced before impacting the game. You mix this in with the ricardo situation, you could accept it if Justin was just playing well but he been culpable for mistakes in every game. There are alot of red flags, we got into trouble before by blindly saying it will be fine and not acting quickly enough and I don't want to do it again. I'm not quite at the get rid stage yet but the worrying pattern of the same mistakes and lessons not being learnt already is concerning. My hope is we see him let the handbrake off a little against Everton, but anything short of 3 points and I think I'll be in the out camp.

Lets hope dyche is just as bad at in game manager as Cooper.
-
100% it's the tactics of a football league manager in the cup away at a Premier league team and that's 4 in a row he's made fundamental errors.....
-
We've had glimpses of good, but no manager at this level should be playing 10 behind the ball for 20 minutes like you are a league one side in the cup hanging on. Football at this level is well beyond that. 4 games in, he's made fundamental mistakes in all of them and cost us points. Everton is already huge. Has to be nothing more than an impressive win or he's cooked I think.
-
You would of taken the point before kick off. It's just very frustrating to see a professional manager in the top division think inviting unrelenting pressure for 20 minutes straight giving us no outlet was going to end any other way. Credit to him for the team set up, but once again his in game managing has been abysmal and cost us 2 points.
-
I think its more he shouldn't of been on the pitch, he should of got someone to give us an outlet instead of inviting unrelenting pressure for 20 minutes straight.
-
You have to give cooper some credit for getting us 2-1 up. But for a 4th game in a row he's failed in understanding what's happening and messed it up.
-
Park the bus 3 DMs no Ricardo. So predictable. Hard to see him lasting
-
I think we will learn alot today, the FFP decision should have them extra motivated, shackles are off. If we set up with a team of defenders and no ricardo again, he isn't going to last long. I normally think the express and the sun are very unreliable, but the ricardo nonsense makes me think theres some truth to player unrest, it's so bizarre and I can't imagine the players are happy with his treatment.
-
Enjoy him while we can, he's better than Raya, Onana, all 58 of chelseas goal keepers. Won't be long before they come knocking.
-
As in he had his head turned by another team? Or someone (cooper) said he isnt wanted?
-
Huge red flag for me. It's now out of spite from cooper. I can make peace with the fact he wants a more atheltic full back to defend, but when we are chasing a game like we have every bloody week, it's a no brainer to get a more creative outlet on. Doesn't sit right with me at all, wreaks of a weak manager out of his depth trying to stamp some miss guided authority on the squad. You see it happen alot with fraudulent managers.
-
He shouldn't need telling this as a professional manager. Mind boggling. Between terrible team selection and not changing a game early enough, hes been the main difference between a few more points already. I guess that's what you get with sub standard managers like him. Just have to hope he can learn his lessons.
-
If Cooper could get out of our way, we have a chance
-
Learn your lesson and stop being a coward. Hes cost us in all 3 games. Poor start and set up against spurs. Didn't react and go for it against Fulham. Started the most brain dead defensive team possible against villa. The only positive I can give is we have been in every game and they could of gone another way if he would learn lessons.

That's why you don't play a negative team of defenders. Let's turn this around properly now -

This is all on Cooper and is terrible team selection and lack of subs so far. We've been well in it but didn't have the personal to execute -

Thats the difference, one manager saw what was needed the other didn't react quick enough -

Who knew playing 3 DMs would mean we couldn't really create. Fairly sure we said the same in pre season against Lens. -

Ndidi is jekyll and Hyde, so important for tackles and blocking, but kills any kind of progressive move instantly. -

My assumption is keep it 0-0 for aslong as possible and see if we can nick it with fresh legs. I just hate it when managers play down the squad they have especially at home. Gutted for mavididi he's barely going to get a game all season he's now behind x2 defensive wingers. -

On paper it's a shambolic negative team selection. Lets hope he has a cunning plan because that looks like a team that won't cross the halfway line and are playing for a 0-0 -

I think this team selection is going to tell us alot about cooper. There are quite a few combinations he could go with, some are so devoid of creativity but full of runners...anything like that would worry me alot. For instance winks, ndidi, skipp, ayew, bdr. We might not cross the halfway line. -
Yes, but I dont think hes had it all his own way. Ayew and BDR were 100% coopers wet dreams, potentially skipp aswell as his thirst for premier league experience at all costs was unquenchable. I think we have taken some from Glover and some from Cooper and kind of botched it all together. Certainly given ourselves a chance at staying up if Cooper can make it work that's the main thing.

It is, but no one wanted him, that Saudi deal was done ages ago in principle and I think he held on fully expecting a chelsea or arsenal to come in for him, but none of them wanted him. Have to assume it's character issues especially since the gambling. So he had to take the payday at his age, can't blame him really, I certainly don't think it was his preference.
