In a way, yes. There are some similarities in the way that they play, sure, but what impresses me more is how both players carry themselves. They're both team players at their core, and like Kante, he doesn't whine or throw his toys out of the pram when something doesn't go his way, nor does he seek to put himself first.

I agree with everything you said. I know there are comparisons to Mahrez, but if Ghezzal improves and maintains consistency, we'll end up with a player that is better suited to us in the long run. He may not be as quick as Riyad, but he's better at holding the ball without being muscled off of it, and he seems to be a better team player. If Puel can continue to motivate and get the best out of him, then we're laughing ourselves to the bank. Onwards and upwards!

Had Morgan not gotten his lumbering ass in the way, Ndidi would have likely scored. Poor decision making from Maddison and Gray also let us down at times, but aside from that, we looked decent. -
We're a goal down, but I'm optimistic. Mendy and Ndidi are starting to gel, Ghezzal is showing us his slick skills, and the Chilwell/Maddison/Gray combination will only get better with time.

We need Soyuncu playing as soon as possible. We can't keep carrying Morgan.

Here's a chant for when Ghezzal inevitably scores a first-half hat-trick against Man City, leaving a befuddled Pep crying into his notes and a disgruntled Mahrez frantically texting his agent and asking Siri for the quickest route to the nearest airport. "We've got Ghezzal, Rachid Ghezzal! I just don't think you understand. He's Claude Puel's lad, he's better than Riyad. We've got Rachid Ghezzal!"

The Amartey goof aside, there were a lot of positives. Also, I'm wondering if Chilwell's brain was subbed off with Maddison. -
We need to keep in mind that not every manager can get the most out of every player. Some of the most talented players have come with a weak or unfocused mindset, which can and often does result in poor performances. I trust that Puel can get something out of Ghezzal, in part because of his work with players such as Henry, Hazard, Trezeguet, Lacazette, and Ben Arfa, among others.

When taken into consideration the fact that Puel managed to get the best out of a temperamental character such as Ben Arfa, I'd say that we have a potential gem on our hands, so if there's any truth to this, then I'm all for it.

Y'know, I've always remained hopeful that Musa would find his confidence and go on to prove the doubters wrong. That's not to say he doesn't have faults and he's certainly played a few stinkers for us, but there's something there. That's my belief, anyway. Here's to hoping he continues to set the World Cup alight!

Believe it or not, it's part of his relegation release clause. It does strike me as a Rudkin move, though. Well, either that or he'd attempt to pay entirely in Freddos.

If we end up selling Mahrez and bringing Felipe in, I wouldn't at all be disappointed. The only real problem is, what do we name the Vardy/Anderson combination? Felardy? Vardandy? Tough times ahead.

As much as I appreciate Billy Benchwarmer's contributions to the club, I'd prefer we move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling.
-
As it stands, it's unlikely that Dragovic stays. I understand the sentiment behind Morgan playing ahead of him, being captain and possibly playing his last season as a starter, but I think Dragovic should have started more. There's no room for sentiment when it's at the cost of performance.

How do you think we will manage to replace mahrez's creative threat
Keiriel replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
Ziyech, Boufal, Hazard, Lozano, and Roberts are a few names off the top of my head. Sure, not all of them are realistic, but Pereira and Diabate look to be decent, so I'm optimistic about future signings. There's no way we'll replace Mahrez with a like for like replacement, though. -
My goodness, you could find Paul Merson in a damp basement snorting lines off of Arsene Wenger's alabaster kiester, ask him what he thinks of our transfer dealings and he'd still make more sense than the one who wrote that article.

I think Kapustka could become pretty good under the right coach. Maybe give him time under Puel, who despite his flaws, is more than qualified when it comes to coaching youth.
-
I think Ben Arfa still has something to offer. I'd prefer Hazard, but I wouldn't scoff at the former if Puel managed to light a fire under him. I mean, after his time at PSG, I would think that he has something left to prove.

Hello! I'm a long-time lurker on the forum and a lifelong Leicester City fan. My interest in football had fallen into a decline for a while, stemming from the Peter Taylor experience to the eyebrow-raising Sven appointment and it would be the 'Great Escape' that would eventually turn my head. I've come to appreciate the team (and the game itself) so much over the past 4 years; I was ecstatic when we'd managed to avoid relegation and words can't describe how I felt when we won the freaking league. Looking back, I'm so happy that I got to witness it, so much so that I was able to endure the relentless beatings we took throughout the following season, although our incredible Champions League run made it palatable; well, that and humbling Pep at the King Power. Hopefully, there are more good times ahead of us! P.S. **** Spurs.
