I try to be a little softer and not always equate reform / right wingers as nasty ....I know that's the narrative but couldn't be the fella is saying he's proud of his country, culture and yes, colour just as we might expect, say, Nelson Mandela to say he's be proud to be black, south African and his African culture. Sir John Hall may well be an appalling racist but those comments mentioned don't prove it. (Fwiw, and I feel the need to justify myself before any lazy assumptions, I don't personally give a shit of anyone's colour or religion or nationality or immigration method....all we all want surely is decency, manners and gives/asks for mutual respect)

It's what he's worth to us tho. He's head and shoulders our best player. Maybe he's a 30m level.player but to us he's probs 50m. If that makes sense.

Hopefully Lens means we've binned off playing a 'glamour' friendly. I find it galling we've for years now paid (PAID! FFS) some D list team who aren't nearly as good or as famous as us - plus with the added spice of us losing a key player to a snapped leg

Haha. You know, that game away to Belgrade we missed a trick that sport beats politics. I remember Chairman John Elsom went over to Belgrade to check it out, they rolled the red carpet out for him, guaranteed our safety and offered to switch the legs so it didn't clash with their general election. We could've gone over in a genuine sign of sporting friendship. Instead - I guess under government pressure - we whined to uefa about safety and got the away leg relocated to Vienna and they (with some justification) hated us for it.

This is the thing. I agree the Tories have not earned a vote after the fiascos since 2016. Eight years of complete shambles. But sny annoyed Tory voter can't reasonably think, ok,.I wanna endorse Labour. Labour will win. But disillusioned voters have a unique chance to vote for a third party and send a message; the biggest open goal in history and labour can only muster, say, 350 seats. Let's see a parliament with 170+ MPs away from the big parties.

It's this I'm really struggling to understand. What has Kier Starmer (and his largely unknown shadow front bench) said or offered that makes people think, **** yeah,.I want a bit of that! That the Tories need booting out is self evident. But why Labour? Wtf have they said to earn the right to govern? Any self respecting pissed.off Tory should surely vote Lib Dem or Reform

I get you....and I agree.with your virw more.than I disagree I think what I'm trying to reconcile is that I hold views that lean both left and right. I'm sure the same goes for many..which means it's super hard to find a political home to comfortably vote for.

In the five years or so I've posted, the only itk I've seen is the lad who posted the team every week about an hour ahead of announcement. All the other supposed itks state the mind numbingly obvious in coded fashion, like Cooper 👀 ...and the moment Potter is announced, they say, 'hey, don't shoot the messenger. If you don't want me.to share I won't' ....

They are absurd. Even 50 reform MPs wouldn't make a dent. In fact, it'd highlight thier absurdity. Give the fools enough rope... But, simply, I'm just not prepared to vote for either Tory or Labour as they just hold the steering wheel and invent policy according to Focus groups and AI. The both of them are broken idealogically.

My constituency is new, mid Leicestershire. A glorious chance for the public to reject the two big parties, set a standard and go for a genuinely local campaigning MP who hasn't got a stupid fcking whip to kowtow to. Looking at the wards, it's actually fairly even split between Tory and Labour (under normal circumstances) ....which means Labour win.. But wouldn't it be nice if we had a Green, Lib Dem MP...or yup, even a Reform imbecile in.

Find it hard to believe. It's a good example of a urban/suburban place such as Oadby - which generally have been Lib Dem wards over the years - being crowbarred into a constituency where farming, hunting and wealth are predominant. It has stolen the 25k people of Oadby of a representative MP for 60 odd years. Another reason to despise FPTP

I think you sum it up well. The right wing is riddled with inconsistencies, as you point out. I wasn't trying to either justify the right not explain it. Just trying to be balanced and not necessarily dismiss the right as Nazis as many people seem to do. One of the inconsistencies - which kinda highlights the absurdity of pigeon holing left/right politics - is the abortion death penalty split. Right wing are often 'Pro lifers' but tend to be pro death, when it comes to the justice system. Left wing are often 'pro choice' (ie killing foetuses) but anti death penalty. Absurd eh?

Legit question, and I'm not trying to wind anyone up. Are all right wing parties/policies Nazis and have appalling political and social stances? It just seems we (public and media) all kinda just buy into right wing = evil. I'm trying to be fair and less dramatic and genuinely try to work out if right is bad.... and not just a political theory that lots of people happen to disagree with Is it possible that right wing, in a softer sense, means economic protectionism? Means tax breaks (in the hope of the supposed trickle down effect)? About lack of red tape and reducing the nanny state? About personal liberty over collective good? Isn't that the essence of 'right wing'?

Agree, but those one nation Tories maybe should've had the balls to set up a centre right party. The aborted 'Change' Party of Ann Soubry needed some heavyweights. Similar to the SDP splitting from labour back in the day.

Regardless of feeling well or not, have you ever tried walking in 35-40 degree heat? I remember that heatwave 2 summers ago at 38 degrees. It was hard enough walking to the back of the garden.

I'm sure you are being slightly facetious, but the answer is imagine is that he's (compared with average Joes like me) an absolute winner in life. I know that'll create some sniggers. But I'd guess 99% of young Asian lads growing up in Southampton with a Dr Dad and pharmacist Mum would end up, being, err, a doctor or pharmacist. Whatever we all make of him personally, he's broken his mould. Went to California, studied at elite level, played the money markets,.married into billionaire level wealth and then reached the very very top of his chosen career. Whether we like it or not, the guy isn't made just to sit around and count his wealth
