Spiralling off thread theme, we aren't really a 30k club. Never have been. The 30k a week is a relatively new phenomenon. Our core is perhaps 18k, along the lines of Portsmouth or Middlesbrough. The additional 12k are zombified. Amongst the, if not the, thickest fans in the league. They enjoy it, sure, but have no fix, no respect, no enjoyment on the culture (and I'd add the responsibility) of football support. Turn up as if it's a church fete, with cake and flask and politely applauding the junior brass band murdering Elgar's Nimrod.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Any punishment should be that Ward has to play 26 games. I defy any team outside of man city, arsenal and Liverpool to stay up with that sanction imposed. -

So the mitigation is that as we had a sustained period of high achieving, it was realistic that our earnings could've been more and that to comply wouldve meant sacrificing our place at the top table. Which, funnily enough, we ended up doing anyway by our manager playing a league 2 standard goalkeeper. -

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
Paninistickers replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
Sums the city up. We never ever ever do anything properly. And even when we stumble and get it right - the cycling for example, a total white elephant for years - as soon as cycling becomes mainstream and big time, the fcking thing is bulldozed for affordable housing. Saw by pure coincidence the other day on youtube some yank cleverdick couple who were Roman historian fanatics, visiting st Albans, bath, York etc and were totally bemused when visiting Jewry wall that everywhere else celebrates the Roman heritage and Leicester locks theirs behind a MDF wall. -
That's too simplistic a view. The point is, yes, these type of people are attendees. They are spectators. They don't participate. The emotional involvement isn't there. 'well done / hard luck lads' A football fan is actually to be part of it. A representative. Support, not spectate. Be involved rather than delegate your life to others

And I don't give a shit about theirs. They may hold the shares and own the freehold, but it's my club and your club 200x more than it will ever be Top,'s or Susan Whelan's. .these people answer to us. Why give them a free ride with a futile boycott?

I think plenty had your suspicions about the system. But the excellent results made it nigh on impossible to present a counter argument. I go all the way back to Bristol City, who we totally dominated. They were eon the ropes for 89 mins. Yet we were left defending a free kick on edge of box in the 96th minute as we'd refused to go for the jugular. He's not a good manager, and never will be, until he realises it's all about winning. Everything is about winning. (Or trying to)

Tbh, I don't think Ricky could've solved yesterday's defensive debacle either. In fact, for large parts this season up until about January, Ricky himself often looked overwhelmed by the job. I lost.coint how many times he got robbed in midfield early season. But his recent form has been marvelous, however yesterday the whole system was exposed. Not just individual talent

I watched half an hour yesterday in the second half and cruising they weren't. They were very very nervous and the game reminded me of games we've muddled through (Sheff Weds at home) and thought it'll be OK. Leeds are one defeat away from the kind of panic we now find ourselves in
-
Ok, here goes trying to be optimistic 1. Wins this weekend for Ipswich and Leeds means saints are more or less fcked 2..which means it's 2 from three 3. We have the best players.of those three 4. We have an extra game than the other two in the three 5. Ipswich and Leeds are both due a rough patch Edit,. actually we can actually be worse the one of the other two and still go up
-
Fair play. Was a childish comment. Hands up and I apologise. I think he's OK actually, but disastrous for this system. He's so unbelievably slow he needs a quick conventional full back to work in tandem with on the left. He's been hung out to dry and has been done no favours in this system.
-
Straight red = 3, right? Hopefully it'll be 9 though!
-
A) he's suspended for three b) he's rubbish
-
Agree. He's slow af. But quicker than Doyle. I just don't think the lad has been given fair crack. Edit,.maybe if we sat back against Chelsea,.low block (rather than suicidal) and hit them with our three quickies up front we'd have had half a chance
-
GK Ricky RB JJ LB Coady and Vesty ch Winks holding Wilf, KDH, Stephy or Hamza Vard and Kels/Daka/Stephy Bringing on Fatawu and Hamza and, yes, Daka, as game finishers We'd walk it.
-
Huth

Anyone else getting pissed off how this lad is being treated? And Coady Poor lad sat on the bench today, not even named as fcking sub ffs Jed walk into just about any team in championship and in the couple of games he's played for us this season, he's been absolutely fine.
-
I kinda like players like that. He's a match winner... You can't leave him alone if you're an opponent just in case he clicks Those times he was brought off v Cov and Middlesbrough (or someone like them) was a joke
-
I don't think we did. The scoreline flattered us. Chelsea were a shambles. However, they have the blueprint (so obvious it's been untrue) to stick long balls into our channels and turn the cs tre halves. The team selection was poor. His tactics - again - when down to ten were baffling. Their goals were inevitable.. Fatawu, Faes, Doyle were all sub standard. Down to 10, (and I said it at time) ,.pull off our big guns Mavidid, KDH and Wilf (we were risking KDH doing so much he'd end up like Ricardo) Send on Kels, JJ and Coady and go 4 Faes, Coady, Vesty, JJ / 3 winks, Yunus Hamza / 2 Kels and Daka You have to leave a threat ffs
-
Said it on numerous occasions, that if you gave, for example, Mark Robins the players that Enzo don't like (or has limited game time), he'd get us very close to going up Stolarcyk, Hamza, JJ, Souttar, Coady, VK, Kels, Praet, Cannon and Yunus (who I both don't rate)....all would make his Cov team.
-
KDH was magnificent today
-
I honestly think, if we go up, I'm jacking it in as a full time fan.. If we blow it, it'll be purgatory. I'll have to see it out.. Just want this over with. Go up, and I can send them on their way, become an armchair fan and spend my hard earned money on sugar babies instead
-
It's a horrendous football lesson for Maresca that we, as fans, are gonna have to pay. It's about winning. The only philosophy is winning. Win, at almost all costs. He's been dealt the biggest weighted hand in the history of the championship, biggest budget, best players. And could well blow it on an obscure theory. The equivalent of Novak Djokovic deciding to play left handed or James Anderson bowling spin or Lewis Hamilton demanding a formula e car, just to see if it still.works.

Tbh, it's almost a relief We all always knew it was possible. If there's a team who can piss away a 17 point in around 14 games,.it's us.
