Exactly this. It's a great post. They are too frightened to go develop a niche. the Box Park thing as you say,.looks good but it's copy and paste. Same as the calls for an arena. That ship has sailed. Examples of niche; Why not rebrand the market as Britain's biggest farmer's market? LA style. Make the city a champion of local sustainable produce. Why not heavily push the smart apartments around curve as a commuter space to London, low rent / high quality / 70 min commute / 5 mins walk to station Redevelop the Corah space - maybe as a clothing industry hub - and in doing so, connect Abbey Park and the Space park back to the city centre Flood the Curve area with artists, living and working with subsidised rates and flood a redevloped Corah with clothes designers and shared manufacturing, studio and design equipment Allow super cheap rent and rates in the arcades for independent businesses. The city centre is dying. It's needs a radical rethink, not a paler version of a Leeds or Manchester

Yeah, but Leamington doesn't have the size or energy of a city. Listen, I think Leicester is dire compared to equivalent cities, but the point t I made earlier is that, if you know the place and show a visitor the best bits, it can actually come across quite well. The example I have earlier was we sat in the exchange, busy independent bar in a cool flatiron building with a view of curve, hundreds heading in there for an event...and the Art Deco Athena overlooking us too. It looked and felt good, even to me Edit; thinking of all those punters heading to curve, the difference it would.make to the city nighttime economy if the De Montfort Hall was in the city centre in addition to curve. Pity really.

I get it. I'm a huge critic of our city can't find its niche. Started at the exchange (next to curve), that other boozer (Manhattan,.now changed name) chutney Ivy, walked up.over Charles at up belvoir street, drinks bottom on new.walk over to st Martin's finish up on high street and end up jubilee sqaure for kebab and taxi home. They thought Leicester looked and felt fantastic.

I agree. But, tbf, a waterside port city is always gonna have an edge on an inland city. Plus, it's a regional capital. You can drive 2 hours north, south or east and only find places like Dorchester, Swindon and Yeovil as an economic and social 'competitor'

I take a fonder view. There were moments provided by Madders and Youri that were magical. The squad Is clearly miles above the standard needed to go up. It's nonsense to claim otherwise. Is it delusional to believe that Kels is, if utilised properly, a better player than George Hirst? Yet Hirst was lead man for our biggest rival. You reckon Kieran McKenna, in an ideal world,.would've signed Kels.or Hirst this summer? Or that Souttar was signed last season as essentially the top championship centre half....yet our manager refuses to play him. We also signed another proven top championship player, Doyle, who the manager asks to perform a role he clearly isn't equipped for. There's three players, all of whom deemed not suitable by our manager, who'd more or less walk into any team.in the division. How about KDH, who most people freely admit is the best player in the division. As for your jibe at Wilf, he's been largely outstanding this season. Another level.

We couldn't buy a win. However, Pearson (always tactically clueless) kept shaking the team up, changing formations and personnel in a desperate hail mary to stop the freefall. It didn't work til Forest away. But, I guess, at least he tried to arrest the slide.

The absurdity is, Enzo himself has said on a number of occasions that the opposition 'played how we expected' after a win or 'didnt play as we expected and I had to fix the issues at half time' ....yet we play, as expected, every single game.. I think it's dawning on us that we might have to suffer agony before we can move on. If we are to be promoted,.it's a prolongation of the shambolic, messianic running of the club.
