  1. Heard this by chance on radio 2 today and it was just one of those moments when hearing something you've heard occasionally over the years and, like, wow. What extraordinary chord changes, musicianship, harmonies and singing A masterpiece.
  2. Exactly this. And the problem is exacerbated by the exodus of Leicester people from urban Leicester. Nights out in town used be birds and lads from the saff, thurnby Lodge, Wigston, Blaby, Braunstone, Aylestone, LFE etc etc and the county towns too Now that demographic has bolted to the county in places like Whitwick, Newbold Verdon, Broughton Astley, Mountsorrel and, thanks to the dismal public transport, going into town is an ordeal
  3. I don't think he cares. I mean I guess he cares he can't show off and dine at the top table. But maybe his hurt in a similar way to the 15000 zombies in the stands who go down to enjoy a natter, a sandwich and a 'bloody rubbish, never mind, can't win them all - we'll still be here next week!' attitude. He won't sell. Ever. Only bankruptcy gets rid - and even then, this strange little man (my new name for him) owns the fcking stadium.
  4. I delayed positing this comment, just to check myself for hyperbole, but I think he's right up there with Ward. In fact, it's entirely possible that he's comparatively worse. Ward was professional level at taking crosses and with his feet. Thomas isn't professional level at anything. Speed, strength, height, technical ability, even positioning (which is perhaps his main argument to cling to of being a professional when compared to national League level player) I always feel slightly bad about being so harsh on a local lad, a city fan from a city family. But it's agony watching him. That panicked angled pass back to his center half where he kinda contorts himself. 10, 25, 35 times a game.
  5. From a business perspective, I guess we could come to an agreement with Rennes to decline our option (or they buy out the option) and Rennes then sell him on
  6. Did his asthma cause him to be nutmegged after 1 minute?
  7. Best post I've read today. They always have their excuses that lot, regardless of kick off tome. Last train leaving. Disabled families needing care. Medical conditions. We've thousands upon thousands of this sort. A significant part of why we are where we are.
  8. I can take cov going up. I can take us going down. But the thought of league one Derby being in the PL is unpalatable. Itd be illegal levels of homosexual shag fests versus the red filth
  9. We have a youth team academy man as DoF. We have a retail call centre team leader as CEO. We employ managers who've never managed at our level (or any level for the Dutchman's case). We have a strange little foreign man who can barely string a sentence together in English as owner.
  10. Susan Whelan gleefully spent years refusing to sell tickets to occasional supporters. It was always going to end like this.
  11. Who'll be toblerone seller of the month from BKK
  12. You probs say that in jest. I'm the same and I mean it. If players as poor as Luke Thomas are in the squad, what's the point? I ain't paying to watch players no better than me.
  13. Aluko wasn't out of his depth. He looked a vast improvement physically and technically on Thomas. Difference is Thomas had Jonny Evans in his ear for his first 40 odd games. Evans could've talked me through a game. Aluko was key down tonight. By the ref, the manager and the centre halves (I noticed after an early block he made for a corner nobody tapped him to say well done. I shouted at the TV so)
  14. It guess it's harder to swallow knowing that we usually beat these 7,8,9 nil without breaking sweat 😏
  15. After 5 mins? Mate, any decent ref allows one to slide. And I'm in no way a ref baiter. My original point was more about the manager anyways. An offside goal, a probable offside for the second and even so, a foul.in the build up. And a cruel sending off. Stick up for your players man.
  16. Nonsense. Any half decent ref would've had a word on either booking. Either a first warning or a final warning. And the manager let it ride.
  17. Why wasn't cifuentues waiting for the ref at half time? It's rare I lose it at refs but this guy needed a fcking rocket. Sending off a kid on his debut? What kind of manager let's that go?
  18. The comparison is way off. If you don't believe me, believe Sheffield United where Hamza was one of their main men and Luke Thomas was on the first bus home seagrave
  19. If Aluko is a total disaster,.passes only to Vesty or straight out of play, directly costs us a goal, gets a yellow after 3 mins, gets robbed of the ball whilst trying to do a Cruyff turn,.offers zero going forward and gets wrong side of his man on four occasions.... he'll be on par with our first choice left back.
  20. I don't get the obsession with a number 10. Bin off the 10 (til Ramsey is back) and play JJ in his preferred deeper role in a three and allow him to play the box crasher role.
  21. Hot take. I think he's useful as a sub. Yesterday he had two contributions; first was awful as he ambled about and didn't latch on to Stephy's pass (and got a mouthful form Stephy) .....second was what he should do all the time, recovery run on a break of theirs. He ran (ofc) at 80% effort and easily caught then covered their man, delayed, nicked the ball and progressed us up the pitch. After 75 mins, opponents have tired legs, he's a unit, and his laissez-faire style isn't so exposed, in fact it's a bonus. Think Ipswich away last season. I'll just leave that there and go do some ironing.
  22. They won't mind. Their bumboys won 3-0 at Liverpool.
  23. Every chance we buy him at the agreed fee in order to immediately resell him . He's a 15m-20m player for a promoted team. He'll be at Cov I reckon.
  24. Recent form hopefully means they are due a defeat. That's how this division works. Nobody is capable of stringing more than 3 or 4 games together. Except us and Cov and Ipswich As for the news about Luke Thomas. Wonderful. A real heart warming moment
  25. Just over half an hour before team announced and all energy, all life, all of our deepest souls are sucked out of us
