Absolute gibberish Why is everything a far right conspiracy? This most obvious explanation is usually the most likely. He's a nutter. And add that to being from a cultural background that seems to enjoy attacking the easiest and most innocent of targets.
-
Ok, fairs. In Europe. But you knew I meant that. And yep, I'll wait for you to now find the occasional outlier, Brevik, Michael Ryan etc. Dunblane. But as you well know, almost all these super soft target attacks in Europe are committed by immigrants or first gen immigrants. You know that. You'd probably not just admit the ugly truth.
-
What irony? He's a Saudi national. Not a German. Whether these attacks are committed in some misguided crusade for Islamism is irrelevant. These ultra cowardly attacks on soft targets at concerts, markets or children's play groups are almost exclusively committed by immigrants (or the children of immigrants) .... regardless of their 'cause'
-
So within two hours of the attack, the state minister has decided the guy has acted alone. No waiting for a police investigation. No review of any files of the security services. Nope, a politician has decided everything inside twice hours
-
Could be. And the authorities will probably claim it's 'not terror related' ....but I'd be happy to have a bet. Some German cities (along with some Belgian, Swedish and Dutch cities) are in a real mess immigration/ integration wise

Seeing the Lockerbie trailer for the sky drama coming up with Colin Firth. Remarkable to me that there was only 13 years between Lockerbie and 9/11. And 23 years from 9/11 til today. Can still remember the newsflash. The initial reports of a plane hitting a petrol station that caused a fireball. Extraordinary, horrifying, scarcely believable images that followed the day after

It's quite extraordinary (under normal circumstances) that he didn't refer to last week's GK as a possible player. He's been rumbled. I starting to wonder if this clown Dawson was involved in the previous personnel selections
-
Well, it's he interesting to see if we offered Iversen or Ward on loan - for the same wage deal - to every championship club, how many would prefer Ward and how many Iversen?
-
I reckon there's about 1 post in every 500 that actually selects a team I would. This is the 1. To see that some people are selecting Coady. The mind boggles.
-
Zero chance he plays tomorrow. For a start the game isn't tomorrow. But, pendanticness aside, the new manager will be aware of the strength of feeling. As somebody rightly said against Newcastle, we'd have been better off forfeiting the game and taking the 3-0 hit. Same applies to Sunday. What a scenario eh?
-
Couldn't we get injured Wilf on the bench and get himself booked for arguing with the linesman?
-
Saw Marlon Harewood in there years back. And (tho I may be confused) Noel Whelan. In those days, footballers still used to come to Leicester.
-
If we had anywhere near full strength, we'd be comfortably lower mid table. But no team can absorb their five best players being out. We've just got to suck it up, stay in touch and mount a fight back from Feb onwards
-
Agree. Because non big 6 clubs, like us, consistently vote in their interests. Presumably in the vain hope a high tide rises all.

The formation of a super league may allow the EFL and remaining EPL teams to create a much more sustainable model. The biggest pain would arrive at the door of b list players unable to earn tens of millions over their careers anymore. Then so be it. Edit; super league would have around 500 players being paid enormous sums. However, right now there are around 5000+ other players performing at very decent levels; from ligue 1 to Bundesliga,. Belgian, MLS, Portugal, Austria, Aussies,.our own EFL championship, Dutch, Scandi, Jocks....the remaining non super league teams will be fine....life goes on.
-
Actually, I think we all might underestimate the commercial interest in TV rights of an EPL where the big games West Ham v Fulham. Everton v Leicester. Forest v Villa. Agreed, it won't be to the value level of the current EPL. But there's enough of a counter culture Europe worldwide and world wide to find that level of football as, if not more, interesting than Mbappe V Haaland every week.
-
Upon reflection, I'd welcome a super league. But rather than for the leftovers battling for access to it via promotion and relegation, turn the tables. There's no way back. You leave, you're gone for good. And let's assume the big clubs call the bluff of their respective leagues and walk. I'd enjoy it. The PL would essentially turn into a championship+ level (as remaining teams would lose the huge funding of the PL so budgets and playing staff would be downgraded as such) UEFA should back the leagues by applying the same 'no.coming back' policy and maintain its existing competitions in their best format; CL / Europa / Conference..... essentially the CL would be teams of level of Celtic and Ajax and Atalanta. I'm down for that. Teams of our size have a much better chance of qualifying for Europe and you, we play Legia and Sparta and AEK Athens instead of Bayern and Barca. But fck it. I'm down for that.

He'd get around 90k a month after tax. For around seven years. Assuming his general living expenses are around 5k a month, pension 20k a month and a five year loan repayment to cover a 1m house of 20k a month. I guess he may well stuff money away for his kids (let's say two) to have a private education each for 12 years he'd need to beaver away a good 15k a month to cover those are long after his career has ended. Still leaves 30k a month fun money ...edit, but I reckon there's quite a few players who are terrified of never earning that amount again and end up being quite frugal knowing the good times won't last

I think managers get briefings from the admin on what's being said in the media and social media. I'd imagine Ruud is well aware of the strength of feeling about Ward's capabilities. Which, you'd imagine, would make him want to check out if it's an overreaction or there's any truth to such strong feelings. 10 mins watching a goalkeeping drill should finally consign Ward to the bin. And if further confirmation needed, the video team with a highlights reel of 22/23 should be the tin lid on top of the nail in the coffin. It is inconceivable that Ward will ever even be in the bench again
-
Agree. Which a competent barrister would've chipped away at with doubt. Counter experts etc. plausible explanations. But, reading reports, she appears to have blocked some of that defence work. Guilty conscience? Depression? Self harm?
-
I'm absolutely convinced it was spite. Some kind of protest having been lied to about the summer transfer window. Same as the opening game v Brentford with no subs in 25 degree heat. It was spite. I'm sure of it. No other explanation Edit; further evidence he was selected through spite was after eye Chelsea game, Rodgers hinted that Ward had asked to be dropped. Said something about him 'being a very honest lad and very self critical'.

Compare and contrast with last season; 30m total on Abdul, Stephy, Mads, Winks, (the yunus and Coady being - for any club - the unavoidable and inevitable duff signings) ...Doyle was middling
-
I actually think the Winks / Skipp / Wilf trio was a very decent PL midfield and from memory gave us very respectable performances v Villa and Palace. But Cooper jettisoned the idea. V Wolves, we have to avoid the fiasco at Newcastle and Brentford and actually play a third midfielder. Our strongest available starting xi imo will be Stolarcyk JJ, Vesty, Okoli, VK Skipp, Winks, Soumare Buonnotte Bilal or Stephy Daka (yes, absolutely ahead of Vards) Ffs just keep us stable and solid and some pace up front to bother wolves (Vards simply hasnt got that pace anymore)

By all accounts he didn't look comfortable when he was being brought on. On a human level, i do feel for him. And as has been said before on this thread, he has come across in the occasional interview as a nice fella. Doesn't matter how much you earn, your confidence and self esteem are gonna be pretty bruised knowing you aren't up to it and knowing that colleagues and supporters know that too. It's imposter syndrome on steroids.

Rudkin goes all the way back to Matty James being given 4 years on 30k+ a week with his ACL already in tatters ....there's loyalty to a player - but that was always pushing it.
