  1. Don't know much about Silko Thomas but I can understand from watching this why he gets brought on if we're defending a lead.
  2. I can sort of see why he's keeping Ayew on. If you pass him the ball he tends to keep it. He's slower than Daka and doesn't press as well which is fair. But Daka doesn't keep the ball. If you pass it to him it tends to end up at the opposition quite quickly. Don't actually mind the Hamza sub. It's negative. But we've been on a bad run of games and probably have a lack of confidence.
  3. We actually look like a team today. Not a dysfunctionally assembled bunch of 11. It's so nice to see.
  4. I've run in Saucony Speed 3 and 5 with a nylon plate and Nike Zoom Fly 6 with a carbon plate. I can run a half marathon in the Saucony's and their nylon plate and at the end of it my forefoot will sometimes be a slightly sore but nothing too bad. But I have to be careful with carbon plates. Zoom Fly 6's were said to be good long run shoes/baby alphaflys by the youtube reviewers. I find after 13km I've bottomed out the foam and it's painful. After 15km I'm just basically running on the metal plate and it's impossible to carry on. But I have set my 5 and 10k pbs in them and they were fine for that. My heart rate is lower for what feels like the same amount of energy. It's weird, I don't feel like I'm going that fast then I look at my watch and I'm flying. I just have to remember I'm 13st not 10-11st like the online reviewers and everyone has different running mechanics and what works for one person won't for another.
  5. He's the least of our problems. Wingers are always inconsistent and go through patches of form. We're so bad going forward the opposition know our wingers are our main threat. They get doubled up on and their passing lanes are shut down. He's still young (he's the same age as Ben Nelson) and coming back from a year out injured.
  6. No. We were lucky how it turned out last time. Also worth remembering even though we were relegated we still had one of the best defensive records in the league. We only had a -3 goal difference. We still had team spirit and organisation. We just couldn't score.
  7. I forgot he'd gone there. Yeah ignore me. I thought he was still unemployed.
  8. One person I can see them going for is Potter. They've courted him before and he's turned us down. We're in such a poor place that if he wants to bring in his recruitment people he might actually get his wish. But given where he is in his career he'll probably turn us down. He's in last chance saloon and I doubt we could afford him. Unless we sell it as a project and give him lots of power and give him a chance to rebuild his reputation. Which I'm not sure is a good idea. But he's at a point in his career where he might take a chance on us if its a project based thing. This is on the border of realistic and unrealistic.
  9. To be honest when I wrote it I was looking at it more from a: I like Andy King and don't want him saddled with this lot. And don't want his reputation tarnished. The only way this squad will work is if the 'hard man' actually has enough authority to put people in a bomb squad and banish them. I think now we are reaching the point where everyone is starting to realise that it's the only way forward and it's pointless carrying on with the likes of Faes and Winks. Even the most delusional players can see how bad they are in the Championship.
  10. Why do people want Andy King? It could be an absolute disaster. I've never seen anything about him saying he's a leader. He seems far too nice and quiet to sort this mess out. It really could ruin his reputation. He seems far more suited to being a coach than a manager. I think it could be the worst thing we could do to him professionally. This bunch of clowns need a strong leader. They had Van Nistelrooy and downed tools when he slagged off their professionalism; they ain't going to listen to Andy King.
  11. He has Brondby just off top in the Danish league. No way he's coming back here to manage these clowns.
  12. I think maybe we shouldn't get too carried away with today. He had a good 45. But we were 3-0 up and they stopped pressing. I wish we'd seen that sort of performance in midfield from him before. If you knew he was starting at CB any half decent manager would be able to put a big/physical forward on him. It's not like his defensive colleagues are going to be much help. He's short, slow and even in midfield he's never been a great tackler. But I'd start him over Winks and Soumare in midfield. And tbf, if it's him or Faes we have nothing to lose with using him instead.
  13. Sort of at the point where I don't think Marti is the answer but i don't think many managers we could attract could get a tune out of this squad. If we could genuinely get a decent manager then replace him. But I don't want a possession based manager; that second half is how we should be playing. I can't even blame him for the goals we conceded today. What I'd like is for him to come out and say Winks and Faes are never playing for us again and he thought 2 influential players with double digit international caps would be better. I'm fed up of those 2 clowns getting clean slate after clean slate. They're bang average championship players with delusions of grandeur. And there's a reason the last manager put them in the bomb squad. And I'm fed up of firing managers just as they realise they're the problem players and then getting a new manager in and we just get worse and worse.
  14. Thing is with Skipp, he's bad. But it's not because he's delusional about his own ability or a prima donna. Wherever you put him he will try his best and put a shift in. There's no way you could put Winks or Soumare at cb or lb. Cause even if they could do a job they just wouldn't due to their character.
  15. You just know this guy has finally given up on Faes and Winks. Just as you think you never have to see them start for us again, he'll get sacked and then it will be a clean slate for them.
  16. I feel sorry for him cause this squad really is the pits. Can't even really blame him for today. No manager can account for that clown show defending after 5 mins. We really need a manager who goes back to basics. We can't be playing this passing football with these players. They literally cannot defend. And even worse they cannot score. I'm really not sure who we could appoint. Our fans are only now accepting how bad this squad really is. Our players are deluded and are terrible characters. This is the best defence he can play at the min. They've got Danny Ings and Bamford on the bench and they probably walk into our team. A terrible squad with bad characters, points deduction incoming, no money to spend and a chance of being associated with one of the most embarrassing relegations in English football history. Who would want it?
  17. What manager on earth can cope with that clownshow of a defence.
  18. I'm really not sure what manager would want to come here with these players. I read or heard someone say League 1 and 2 players know their level. As do Premiership players. But in the Championship you have players who think they're Premiership quality not realising they genuinely are Championship standard. Most teams might have 1 or 2, but we've got about 10 of them. These players aren't just bad; they're delusional. And all prospective managers know it. Makes me laugh when people mention we should have picked Dyche - like he was ever coming here - even last year. And I don't want Andy King saddled with this lot, he doesn't deserve it. I don't think we can attract a manager who can get through to this lot who they'd respect. We had someone like that in RvN and the players threw a strop and we all wanted him sacked. I wish we'd kept him now, he'd called out some of these bluffers and started the process of rebuilding. This is three different managers now and it gets worse and worse as the actual quality leaves. People say Marti doesn't know tactics. I don't know, but he might just have decided this lot are so bad at scoring goals and defending his best tactic is to s**thouse games and hope for individual brilliance. I'm starting to think he might be right. They're so erratic and inconsistent. We're such a badly assembled team. Our defence is so slow and genuinely braindead. We don't even have a defensive midfielder that can offer any protection. As soon as we lose the ball we just get cut through on the counter. All our central midfielders (apart from James) are stat-padders, who it's clear someone has looked at stats like pass completion and distance covered but not considered how they'd gel as a team.
  19. I'm really not sure any manager could cope with this defence. They're just so brain dead. One game they look okay, then the next just look like utter clowns. And we have no defensive midfielder to protect them. I do hope it's dawning on the likes of Faes, Winks and Vestergaard that this really is their level.
  20. Some people do under and overate players. He was the main reason we weren't in the relegation zone under Cooper. He made some good saves. He could do a good job in the Premier League for the right team. He's a good shot stopper, is good with the ball at his feet. But he lacks height and physical presence. Going to a team like West Ham was always a risk. Badly run and fans that can turn toxic very quickly. And as a keeper it's always your fault and he had no credit in the bank with their fans.
  21. I actually think this will have been in the works after the first few weeks of the season. They're probably so clueless they thought this squad was going to walk the league. Now it's dawned on them that we really are in a bad place and could be stuck here for a few years: we need a major overhaul in the playing squad, empty seats are appearing and we've taken out loans against future TV deals which we might not receive. Also think it's dawned on them that after years of treating supporters like customers they've now got the very thing they created. Empty seats and people aren't queuing up to come anymore. Don't really have an issue with Rudkin going upstairs. He's a useless DoF but I will accept he probably helped Top after his father's death more than we understand. But it's still failing up to get him out of the way. Worried who we get in though. Rudkin is still DoF and if you want the best people to come in, that is the role they want - it's why Steve Walsh left. You can call them a technical director but if they're really doing a DoF role, they will want to be called and paid for being a DoF. Plus, we've been a basketcase for years. There's no way Cooper, RvN and Marti were our first choices. I'm not sure how attractive experienced people will see this job. Unless it's made clear Rudkin/Top have no real power over them. This should have been done years ago!
  22. When you look at prices for a world cup they are going to be high in the US. Concerts and sports games tickets are so, so expensive in the USA now. And depending on your city so will parking. My dad lives in Seattle and at the last MLB playoff game I think event parking at the stadium was $120-150 dollars. The main reason they charge so much is Americans will pay it. Every now and again US bands will come here and try it. Motley Crew tried it at Wembley a few years ago and the stadium was like 40% full. If you go find the photos it looks quite funny. Pearl Jam tried to charge £140 general admission a couple years ago at Spurs Stadium. And the lead singer magically came down with a last minute illness when the stadium was only 50% sold even after they'd reduced the tickets. Europeans and a lot of other countries just won't be ripped off. A few will pay it but the majority won't. It's almost like we band together, and even if we can afford it we just won't pay it on principal. Take the WWE. It was sold a few years ago to new owners. Now in the US you need something like 5 different subscriptions to watch all their shows which costs over $100 dollars a month. The rest of the world just get everything on Netflix. In America the cheapest seats at shows used to be like $40 dollars now the cheapest seats at WWE shows are like $150 for the very back seat of an arena for a weekly TV show. I think Wreslemania's cheapest seat was around $600 for the back of an NFL stadium. Then they come to Europe and Americans are annoyed that our tickets are so much cheaper. They pay crazy prices there and cause they pay them they just get charged more.
  23. Tbh this screams of a toxic organisation which is full of arse kissers and someone is trying to look good and impress their boss. It's weird, cause I totally agree with the statement. But they so rarely communicate properly with the fan base that all of a sudden coming out with this looks odd. If the idiots that chanted see it gets this response it could just be like when the naughty kid at school finally gets some attention and kicks off even more. I'd have at least waited for it to happen a second time.
  24. Guys you can get some real good deals on running shoes atm with Black Friday. At Start Fitness I just got some Saucony Speed 5's for £113 reduced from £180. And some Saucony Pro 4 for £143 reduced from £230 (you do also have to pay £7 for delivery). Maybe you're not a Saucony fan but a lot of stores are running some good deals on most brands this weekend.
  25. Depends what you mean by change. I think if we'd lost today it would have been difficult for him to carry on, but i don't really blame him. I think this squad is terrible - especially in both boxes. None of our strikers can score and I think our best way to win is to just sh*thouse every game. But a lot of our fans still can't accept how bad our squad is, even though they all complain about how bad it is. They say he doesn't know his best eleven; yet none of us do - they're all equally as bad. If our strikers literally cannot score, it doesn't matter what patterns of play or fancy tactics we try to play when we're guaranteed to concede. We were one of the worst teams in premier league history last year. The only reason we weren't a total embarrassment was because of Mads in goal, Ndidi in midfield and Vardy upfront. They've all left and haven't been replaced. And a lot of people seem to think that a bunch of teenagers who have just finished their GCSE's and A-levels are the answer when they probably aren't. But he doesn't help himself with things like continually playing James in an advanced role.
