  1. From the Cricketer: "The first-class counties are set to receive the first payment from The Hundred sales today (Thursday, July 31). Each of the first-class counties will receive an "unfettered" payment of around £400,000. There are no restrictions on how this money can be used. While two of the eight deals around new ownership of Hundred sides are yet to be signed, the ECB are confident they will be within weeks and are keen for the counties to see and feel the benefits of the sell-off. In all, the non-host counties can expect to receive just over £24m from the sales, with the hosts receiving around £18m. Much of this money will have restrictions imposed upon how it can be spent, with the ECB hoping it is used to clear debt, improve facilities and create revenue streams."
  2. Have to get him first - lot of competition.
  3. The curse of Richard Rae. I remember similar happened when he was commentating on Ben Mike
  4. Pitch is making Josh Hull look like Tom Moody
  5. These two both have career best totals now. The pitch looks very benign for seam bowling though - I think there will be a lot of work for Kimber and Rehan.
  6. Would be Swindells' replacement as back-up keeper and a might get in the side just as a batter. Effectively third choice at Yorkshire behind Bairstow and Harry Duke.
  7. Stokes out of the 5th test. Pope captain and Bethell in.
  8. Got that extra batting bonus point and a 50 for now for Scriven. Something very wrong at Kent, the extraordinary amount of injuries and I always though Hollioake was an odd appointment as a 'Head Coach', not having had that position before at his age.
  9. Wayne White playing for Cambridgeshire, bowling off-spin, opening the batting and captaining.
  10. Only based on the highlights: Monga was sensational; Aluko and Page pretty good as well. How many kids can you play in one team? No closing down their players and lots of gaps between midfield and defence - SV and Coady seemed to be marking space. They were quite sharp, played as a team, looked like they wanted to win. Whereas some of ours clearly hate each other. What's going on with Skipp's hair, or lack of it? Has he been lying about his age? Is he losing it through stress? Like Winks, is he homesick for jellied eels and pie and mash? If the shedding continues at this rate he will look like Steve Agnew by February.
  11. They were probably exhausted after driving over from London for the game.
  12. You read my mind! Careers went in different directions, though Sheriyar had quite a decent post-leics career.
  13. Yes, thought he was going to be amazing. Sheriyar on that list as well, another flash in the pan. Taking 10 wickets against Young Australia, including Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Law and Gilchrist!
  14. It's Dick Pougher they are talking about and he did get 14 wickets in a match in 1894. However, I am reading that statistical records for the first class game begin in 1895.
  15. It is according to cricinfo. https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/team/bowling-best-figures-match/leicestershire-1184/first-class-matches-4
  16. Rehan's got his bowling average down to 36 now. His current total of 13 wickets, are the best match bowling figures for Leicestershire ever, beating Haydon Smith's 12-69 in 1938 at Tunbridge Wells.
  17. Wicket for Kimber. Perhaps a touch high, but still given.
  18. Lovely play from BEK. Good finish Daka!
  19. Derbyshire have had exceptional value out of Luis Reece. He averages 35 with the bat and 28 with the ball
  20. Looks like he's got arthritis to me.
  21. That is where he's played most of his career, we just should never of signed him for the PL. I would never sign anyone who's done well for Marco Silva as he seems to get the best out of players, especially one who is well over his peak. 3 year contract for this guy, OMG. Marti will just have to be ruthless and not play him. Footballers all want to play and will hang around for a certain amount of time and collect their wages, train etc, but at some point most will want to play if they can and accept a pay cut to go somewhere - they are a long time retired.
  22. Agree, forecast is good as well, so don't have to worry about lost overs.
  23. Their theory seems to be about signing very tall players, though at 5ft 11in, Longstaff is big enough I suppose but not as big as Anton Stach, who is 6ft 4in.
  24. Already 232/3, so agree that 450 is what we should be aiming for. Nothing much in this for the seamers now the ball has gone soft.
  25. Could be why we've picked Kimber instead of Cox
