I don’t get bringing Burns in, he’s garbage. Howell was brilliant last week…. And I so disagree with Thomas starting again when we’ve got two competent comfortably CB’s on the bench. Should be strong enough to win, I just don’t want to see us end up 2-0 down because we’ve ****ed up at the back when it could potentially be avoided.

I disagree to some extent. If the team is settled and it’s the preferred 11 then yes, keeping in the same where you can is preferable, but in some instances even if you’ve got a winning team it’s always good to be proactive and change it where possible. As I said earlier, we did get away with some very suspect moments on Tuesday, and could have been a few goals down before we started…. So it wasn’t a particularly convincing, I’d prefer to replace Thomas now, rather than us do a Burton at the weekend because he’s made a mistake…..

He has to drop Thomas for an actual CB. We’ve kept two clean sheets, but we would do well to remember we could have been 0-3 in that first half following some defensive horror moments…… we certainly got away with a couple. For me, don’t wait for it to go wrong, bring in O’Hora and Riis.

Got the feeling this lad will become a cult hero.

He needs to watch Alves, that’s how you play as a winger….. legend says he’s still, stopping and starting on the wing somewhere….

I think he’s good egg, I’ve never heard anything negative about him? His general play isn’t dreadful, he works hard, gets stuck in, and despite some of the seniors dreadful performances from lack of effort, you can’t level that at Bob. Ultimately, I think he will end up being fairly important even if it’s coming off the bench. His finishing at the moment is all over the place, he just needs one to come off his arse and he may settle down a bit.

It’s the same lazy analogy as the Martin O’Neill “had a poor start”….. for every manager that loses their first few games.

We’re going to need bodies. This is an unforgiving league, games come thick and fast, Braybrook has had a serious injury, so we do need to manage him, we can’t make him play to exhaustion…. He’s promotion experience, is battle hardened and I think possesses a bit more quality than some give him credit for. He’s certainly a better experienced option than twats like Ayew.

Was there any mention of the incident with Stolarczyk? It looks to me like the lad left his leg in and caught Stol unnecessarily?

I thought Bob the Throb worked hard, he puts a shift in and will show for the ball. His finishing is bizarre because he scored a couple of belters last season, and this season it’s like he’s playing with square toe’s boots on. He offers more than Cullen in my opinion who’s dog shit. I just hope our new defenders complete the puzzle, there’s no reason once settled why we shouldn’t start to take control of the league!

Surely after last night he can’t…… Macfarlane has some moments where he lost the ball, but over all he was so much better than Thomas in that position.

I thought he was immense. His first touch instinctively into space every time he gets the ball, he was winning the ball, driving through the midfield, opening the pitch up with a single turn…. Its little things like that, that excite me, it’s clear his reading of the game is elite level. Other than his inexperience, the one criticism, I have is he needs to bulk up a bit, because he will be an absolute beast with a bit more timber on him.

It’s just so refreshing to watch a player attack their full back, I love how his first thought every time is to have a go at his fullback, and commit them to a 1v1. I just hope he stays fit, because you can see the quality he possesses, last nights performance will do him the world of good!

He was immense yesterday, head and shoulders the best player on the pitch, the maturity he plays with is well beyond his years.

It was a win, but **** sake why is Russell hell bent on making life so hard for himself. Firstly the negatives. I don’t know what on earth is going on with these goal kicks… but to beat a press you can’t have your entire back four pretty much in a line more or less level with the penalty spot…. It means the opposition can literally camp on the edge of the area and wait for you to tie yourselves in knots… Plymouth could have had at least three goals today from whatever that was…. You’ve got to stagger the positions, have one receiving CB, who’s aim is to punch a pass into the dropping 6’who will then offload it to either JJ inverting, or Thomas, move out of that space. Allowing the other CM to drop in pop a pass into the advancing runner in space and open the pitch up….. something we did time and time again under Enzo…. And we simply don’t do it, we play possession football stood still, and we will one day end up 3-0 down because of it. It’s something Brussel has got to address (which he won’t) because it’s utterly suicidal. Second issue is creating chances for. Number 9, again, we just aren’t playing football that suits Bristric, I felt sorry for him today, he was desperate to have the ball played onto the spaces he was running into and it never arrived.. he is still learning, and I so actually like him, there’s something about him that I think in time he will come good, but it’s a mixture of inexperience, and a style that at the moment doesn’t suit him. Besides that, we were clearly the better team, and rightfully won, but it wasn’t convincing, and I think it’s definitely a coaching style thing over players… pound pound, that squad should be winning the league, as a defensive unit we didn’t look like conceding, even though we somehow gifted them some piss chances….. Page is the best player in the league, by some distance, Braybrook was alright, legs went a bit and he’s a yard off the pace, but I think he will grow into this team nicely, Alves and Howell were superb. They both commit their fullbacks, and cause havoc.love how they both play…. Burns is shit, as is Cullen, but I quite liked Warson’s cameo, didn’t do a great deal but I think he may be useful coming off the bench and will have a part to play. It was alright overall, Plymouth were dogshit, and Brussel’s methods are holding this group back in my opinion….. this lot are capable of taking most teams to the cleaners in this league, form what I saw tonight, but they won’t, because we’ve got a space cadet as a manager, who’s obsession with stroking his ego will restrict what this team is really capable of.

Both him and Souttar are in the squad. So neither will be leaving.

I’d be fuming if we sold him now. The lads clearly beans, keep him and let his value rise.

It’s huge tonight, we’ve so far not managed to beat three of the leagues worst teams, and Plymouth on paper are better than the previous three games. It’s got to be a win, but fail to win, and I think it really cements where we are, and I think will be clear that things aren’t going in the right direction. It’s not too early to think about changes, because all of the red flags that have been present over the last few seasons are still there for all to see. They’ve yet to step up, will they do it tonight?
