This is going to be happening an awful lot. £4m is not going to rock the PRS boat, it’s probably going to start being the done thing, to start offering players in returns especially with academy players if it means 100% profit. As we’ve seen historically clubs will buy these players back if they transpire to become something decent. Unless things change in the FFP world, clubs will have to start scratching each others backs.

But I’d caveat that with, we luckily now have a manager that prioritises youth development, so if there is an ounce of potential in him, Cooper will look to utilise him where he can. I suppose this is why he’s a good pick, I don’t think he would mind at all getting younger talent in, it’s exactly what we need at this time, a manager who isn’t going to kick up a fuss about what players he’s got at his disposal.

He won’t be so green. £16-17m isn’t all so bad, but it would be towards to top end of our budget! An alternative could be Pablo Solari, 23, and his fee is likely to be £8-£10 million.
