Okay, we need to start signing some ****ing players…. We can’t continue with Thomas at Left back. -
I’ve been calmly, and rationally reflecting today. Starting with a coffee and a very big almond croissant. I’m sure @ClaphamFox will appreciate this. But in my reflections, I’ve come to the conclusion I really like Marti, and I think he’s exactly the type of guy we need at the moment. Last relegation was different, Enzo was exactly what we needed then, and Martinis now. We’ve had two poor choices since Enzo. Cooper was too soft, he didn’t have a grip on the dressing room, and I think he was too “happy to be here”. Ruud was just a useless tosser, looked good in a roll neck but hadn’t got a scooby. Marti appears to have a grip of the dressing room….. He’s kept the want away players on the periphery of the squad, which is ideal, because if they leave we’re already used to not relying on them, and if they stay they can be reintegrated into the team. He’s a calm man, he doesn’t get lost in the hysteria and is clearly focused on his job…. He’s promoting youth players and isn’t scared of playing them, which we have all been moaning about for ages haven’t we @Ric Flair In a huge fan already, he’s been dealt a shit hand really coming here, but he clearly doesn’t care and just wants to get on with the job. I get the impression he wants to prove himself, rather than just be happy to be here, or have a massive fallout with Winks. We’re in safe hands, and I just hope we keep him if this season is a damp squib, because we need consistency to rebuild.

Palace aren’t paying £30m for him. They will want the Eze money to stretch a bit further than one player I imagine. -
Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
Pliskin replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just get rid of it. It doesn’t stop teams from going bust, and it protects the big boys. If you’re going to do that, then just allow clubs to operate as they wish. If you want to bring in any kind of restrictions, introduce wage caps. PSR is ruining the game, and is more than likely to send a club out of existence than save them. It’s about time every club came together and agreed to have it removed, or collectively every club just says that they will refuse to follow the rules, then what will they do? Deduct points from everyone? -

Our biggest issue in this game will be Soumare not tracking Stansfield. He’s far too good to just not track properly. -
It’s simply incorrect, do you not think this would be all over the media if we had been placed under an embargo. And why would you put us under an embargo with a week to go? That would get challenged and quickly overturned because it would most definitely appear petulant. It’s a none starter article.

Early days in the Championship are often like this aren’t they? Preston were up there when we won the league last time, and by the time the season came to an end they were in a relegation fight. It is the nature of the league I think, the scrappy nature of it can benefit some teams early doors, but soon enough that runs out. To be fair the only team I’ve seen so far that look very good, as much as it pains me to say is Cov. They’re looking a genuine threat this season. -

Because they’re riding a positive wave, they smashed league last season and so far are looking alright this season. Energetic, pacey front line who have goals in them. They will see this as a bit of an Acid test to see where they are, and will be well up for it. Us on the other hand, will continue to look disinterested, and amble around the pitch with little effort. I don’t think any of us fear Birmingham we fear ourselves. -

We haven’t been placed on an Embargo. That much is clear because it would be plastered all over the media. But I do think we’re trying to prove to the powers that be, that we’re doing all we can to remedy the situation…… another classic example of our bumbling board room.
-
I think you’re spot on to be honest. I think it’s a “self imposed” embargo. We are so desperate not to get a deduction so we are essentially just stripping out assets, and recouping as much money as we can. I agree with you, we won’t sign anyone. The board are going to gamble on a stab at the play offs and then go from there. Such is the delusion at the board level. What is right though? Do you just spend the money like some are, and take the deduction and just hope you accumulate enough points to go up, or do you sell all of your key assets, and essentially reset the club… but it’s likely we still can’t spend a great deal anyway because all we are doing is clawing back the deficit.

“Dad what was it like supporting Leicester on 2025, son the most credible entry in our transfer section was about a 70’s prog group named Jethro Tull”.

I never knew this, thanks for clearing this up.

But we don’t have an embargo…..

Absolutely. ****ing. Hopeless. Player.

This is what you’ll get from Hamza. One week he will be guff, the next he will be alright, the next he will be three beers deep on the A46.

Hmmm, I don’t share your confidence. I thought Thomas was rancid today, beaten so easily, has no strength, no pace and little to no quality on the ball. He was getting caught out time and time again, it was a lack of quality that saved him. Very different story against Gray on Friday night, who will no doubt run him ragged. -

Surely the defence is? We can’t defend the transition against any kind of half decent quality. Thomas needs replacing desperately, and I’m not sold on that CB paring. Okoli concerns me, last ditch tackle and clearances won’t make up for his lack of ability on the ball. Our attack does need work, but I think for now there are goals in it, we just need to sort that defensive base out. And build from there. I’d ideally like a new spine. CB CM and striker, and then if we can get in a left back and potentially another CAM. -

I mean, we sit here saying there’s a lot of worrying things…… it’s hardly a surprise, we’ve not refreshed a team on its arse. There’s too many toxic factors at this club, I was genuinely surprised we won today. But I thought Charlton were poor, lacking a lot of quality in attacking areas. Birmingham will have a field day against that defence, we still conceded chances in the transition, if it wasn’t for a lack of quality we would have conceded some goals this afternoon. If we can somehow get some defensive reinforcements in at least, we might be okay…. But it completely relies on us being able to sign some players. -
