He’s naturally right footed, and spent some years playing at right back, however similar to Monga he’s ambidextrous and can comfortably use his left foot too. So he’s spent most of his time in the academy at Left back. He and Monga formed an incredible relationship down the left side, which is why I think we need to bin Thomas off and try and rekindle this relationship.

Well yes, Derby were guff, but we still had to play…. Jow many good teams have we actually played? Only Cov and Stoke have looked anywhere near something that resembles a football team. Everyone else has been gash, but do have we…… hence why a lot of us have been asking for more aggressive front footed football. Forget the “possession based” approach, because we simply can’t do it. Regardless of how shit we think we are, there’s no better player than Fatawu in this league, there’s not many better than James…. Plus we’ve got players who are more than capable of performing at this level…. We’ve seen some hideous football, even against some very poor teams, regardless of how Derby played, we still were more direct, aggressive and attacked the space Derby left, plenty of teams have done the same thing, but because of the way we’ve been playing we’ve not been able to break them down. When we remove the likes of Faes and Winks, we suddenly attack with less passes, we’re getting the ball forward with one or two passes and it means you’re turning the opposition defence around much quicker. I’ve been majorly critical of Marti, and the team, if you’re going to be majority critical you then have to accept when something has changed for the better. The weekend was better, but we need to see it again, this needs to be what we see going forward.

I’ve managed to watch the game back in whole after not being able to see it. And I have mixed emotions, naturally it’s great to see us batter Derby……. Again, but I’m also a bit ****ed off, why has it taken this long to play like this? The system was definitely tweaked, and we were more aggressive, more front footed, played on the transition more, and managed to get the wingers 1v1 more often….. What caused the shift? Desperation? Did the penny drop? It’s one game I know, but it was night and day to previous performances…… Once Okoli is back, just **** Faes and Winks off all together, it’s clear they’re rotten and it’s funny how our shocking form coincides with those pair being in the team. This needs to be a marker to move forward from. Rely on the academy, they’re more than capable and with experience they will grow. I want to see more Nelson, Monga, Page, Aluko, Evans ****ing everyone, play Motsi as well **** it. But a much more encouraging performance, but it needs to continue, we can’t revert back V Bristol just because we’ve had one win. More of the same please. Build the team around James.

I’ve been in the market for a budget noisy bastard, I was looking at Schecter Omen’s the Ibanez RG series and Jackson. Around the £500-600 mark. Andertons then put a Black Friday deal for a PRS SE custom 24, with an original Floyd Rose to boot. It’s excellent. Build quality is excellent and it sounds pretty good… neck is slim and fast and it does feel like a proper shredding machine despite not being one. Eventually I’ll fit it with some Fishmans Fluence’s at some point to give it some bite, but for £600 it’s an absolute bargain!

I don’t think some realise the mess this club is in, and there’s no way the board room turnout around… We are getting relegated, because there simply isn’t enough players in the squad that give a shit. We’ve been here before…. Under Rodgers, Under Ruud and here we are again. Can’t score, concede poor goals, and have a shit attitude. The manager is ****ing clueless as are the owners, a potential points deduction on the way, and with no spending this season it would suggest we’re sailing close to the wind again……. Dropping into league one, would be a catastrophic disaster, a club with our wage bill has no business being in this league, let alone in league one…. The financial pressure would be immense, we would likely breach PSR again, but to a level league one wouldn’t have ever seen…. We simply won’t recover and will likely end up in a situation where Top is having to make redundancies and drastic cost cutting to bring the outgoings down, which we simply won’t be able to do…. We said we would never get relegated under Rodgers, we did….. We’ve no evidence at all that this situation will be salvaged, we’ve had a half arsed “message” from Top, and that’s it. All we’ve got is blind hope that somehow this team will somehow find some fight from somewhere. The only hope we have is somehow hiring an elite coach who gets more out of the group…. Other than that, what have we actually got? The academy is being misused to boot on top of all of this, so we can’t even say that, because any player worth anything will just **** off at a cut price because we’re not playing them. As someone said, took a while for the titanic to sink, we’ve hit the ice burg and are currently trying to use spoons to clear the water.

A collection frogs would do a better job of running the club.

Great pod as always…. And I’m in full agreement with @Ric Flair I genuinely think we’re on the home straight to liquidation. I think we’re getting relegated, all of the signs are there, bar some kind of miracle. We can’t score goals, we’ve got a squad made up of want a ways and rotten apples, we’ve got a clueless manager and a clueless boardroom. We will hit league one, with all of he same financial issues we have now, and simply will not have the capacity to remedy the issue, the administrators will come in, and no one will want to take us on because of the financial mess they would inherit…… So in short, I genuinely do not think we will get out of this mess.

This is just going to drag, and drag and drag. We will lose, Marti has lost the dressing room and an after Enzo’s Cilit bang, black mould spray has temporarily halted the rot, it’s well and truly back again….. Marti will eventually go, but it won’t be until they either know about our PSR fate, or things get so bad they just simply can’t keep him, so he will get sacked and King will remain in post until the PSR stuff is sorted. For which I genuinely don’t think we will have an answer until next year, they will drag it through the transfer window so we don’t make any signings other than potentially send Carranza back and try to sign a few loan players or a cheap player from over seas, similar to Coulibaly. Either way, this will be a dismal day out which will result in another loss. If you’re going, at least protest and make your voices heard…… there’s nothing to support on the pitch, don’t embarrass yourselves.

This is my suspicion. Which is absolutely scandalous…. Having to take out loans to cover running costs…… we’re heading in the direction of Sheffield Wednesday…. Especially if we end up getting relegated again, as we’re likely to breach again.

If you think about it the timing is terrible. No doubt in my mind he’s done here, we won’t get another point whilst he is here, dressing room is gone and he’s fighting a losing battle. But what manager will accept the job? They’ve seen he hasn’t been backed, they will see the ongoing PRS problems and with the potential of a points deduction looming, who in their right mind would want the role? You’re hoping for a manager who’s not bothered by that and has the hunger and desire to prove themselves. My opinion is, the board have lost faith and want to sack him, but I don’t think they will until they have a verdict on the PSR breaches. Once that’s happened it makes life much easier. They waited and waited to boot Ruud, and they will likely do the same here, they will wait until they know what’s happening with that and then make a decision. The only thing I can think is, they might sack him over the next few weeks and let Kingy take charge until they know what’s happening with the PSR rubbish. Either way, we’re a ****ing shambles.
