  1. Little threat coming from the left side. Needs to take Fuchs off and bring Barnes on so that we can create pressure from both flanks. Had we taken one of our chances he'd have gotten away with this imbalanced formation but we didn't. No need to panic though. We have three halves to turn this around against a very poor Villa side. Once we equalize they could fold.
  2. If it's so scientific why are human beings at Stockley Park taking so long to make decisions. How many points have Liverpool gained as a result of VAR decisions going their way? Mane's dive against us gave 2 points to them and took one away from us. How important was that at the time in the context of the title race? Would we have got a penalty if Vardy had dived in the 95th minute at Anfield? No chance! The fact is, they have benefited more than any team from VAR this season. No one doubts that they are the best team in the division but their points haul has been VAR assisted. Perhaps they're just 'lucky'.
  3. LiVARpool strike again. Every decision goes their way. It would have been interesting to see if they could have won it without the assistance of VAR!
  4. Credit where it's due, I thought Rodger's had been on the sauce when I saw that lineup, but he obviously new just how woeful West Ham are at the moment. They gave us in the freedom of the London Stadium for most of the game and, truth be told, we could have run out more comfortable winners but for a couple of aberrations. Not only have our 'second' string had a decent run out, he has given our first eleven a much needed break and, in a few cases, a bit of a pause for thought. As a squad we should be well up for the Newcastle game and, with another win, will further solidify I position in second place before pursuing our cup ambitions.
  5. In an odd kind of way it takes the pressure off as our expectations are so low.
  6. Squad rotation yes, but capitulation through team decimation, no. Granted it exposes our lack of squad depth but top four teams need to rotate with a little more nous than this surely. Is this selection revealing a glimpse of Rodger's arrogance?
  7. No question, we have just been given a footballing lesson, but by the best two sides in the world. It is important that this young, talented team do not panic. Rodgers must ensure this does not happen. The next game at West Ham will be a more important yardstick as to which direction this team is headed in the second half of the season than the last two. Let's see.
  8. The result was to be expected. When rested and in full flow, Man City are the best team in the world. Our performance was disappointing in that we didn't do ourselves justice. Our players were clearly tired but once again, our young team froze on the big stage. It is no surprise that our stand-out performers were Vardy, Schmeichel and Evans; our most experienced players. Our youngsters will learn from the experience and with Rodgers' guidance will learn to cope better on the big occasion. This will be a vital part of our development as a top four team.

  10. Poor performance. Second best today. But the gap to third has widened. This is far more important than chasing down LiVARpool.
  11. We hardly need a 'new' manager bounce, but today's announcement will do nicely!
  12. This is a major statement to the 'big boys' - hands off our prized assets! Little old Leicester is here to stay. We crashed their exclusive little party once, now we're aiming to shake up the established order consistently. How will the PL, media and pundits cope? Their patronizing tone - "with all due respect to Leicester, he needs to move to a bigger club" will be rammed back down their (Danny (LiVARpool) Murphy et al) throats. Brilliant stuff! How lucky we are to have been born Leicester fans!
  13. So far our worst performance of the season by a country mile. Big opportunity for Iheanacho to spark us into life.
  14. Totally dominated them but lacked a clinical finish. Need to be patient as we were against Palace. Our second half record is awesome so hopefully that pattern will continue and we won't have to rue the chances missed first half.
  15. 95th minute penalty to deny us a point says it all really. So soft! Had it happened at the other end there's no way it would have been given. May as well engrave the trophy now. The Premier League is desperate for Liverpool to win it this year. It's all about TV revenues. Liverpool are stacked but they will always get the rub of the green. Moments earlier, Soyuncu was blatantly pushed by Salah before Chaudhry scythed him down. No free kick given. Another decision that ultimately affected the outcome of the game. We won it all and that can never be taken away but it will never be allowed to happen again! For the same reason, top 4 for teams other than the big 6 will be very difficult to attain. Marginal decisions will always go against the rest of the league when the chips are really down.
  16. May as well have a go second half. They will tire. Maddison must play in the middle with Albrighton on the left.
  17. Let's make the most of this now!
  18. Boos were aimed at the ref. There were moments in the first half where we served notice of what we can become. Quick, one touch passing to cut them open but we just lacked that incisive finish. Patience is required. This is a young team, they'll make mistakes but they'll learn. We could use more firepower upfront, however. Come on lads, lets do a tiring Spurs second half!
  19. Southgate is so limited in terms of his tactical nous it's frightening. But he's a nice safe guy so his job is secure until we get another Iceland-like humiliation at a major tournament.
  20. Agreed they are relegation bound, but at home, on a long unbeaten streak at the start of their Premier League return, this was like a cup tie against a lower division team giving their all - a totally different proposition to playing them later in the season when their confidence is low and the initial euphoria has worn off.
  21. All about the result and so much more to come from this squad. Hamza - what a performance!
  22. Understand some of the frustration, but early season rustiness was clearly evident in our play today. Their match sharpness (it was their fourth competitive game) more than compensated for any tiredness after their long trip to Armenia. A point on the board against a quality opponent that primarily came to defend, amounts to a solid start on which to build. Exciting times ahead for this talented, young team. And our young owner/chairman ain't going anywhere soon! What a great time to be a City fan!
  23. The managerial change we made, replacing Puel with Rodgers, will really kick in and make a significant difference from the off, as will having a fitter and fully integrated Tielemans in place from the start of the season. In addition, Perez will add goals we didn't get from Gray et al last year. If our defence remains as solid as it appeared to be without Harry last season, come May we should be 15+ points better off than we were at the end of last season. We really do look capable of homing in on the top 6!
  24. Have to agree with comments about Boothroyd not being up to the job. His managerial career has been pretty woeful. England need to be more ambitious and forward thinking in their choice of coach, otherwise our young talent will be wasted at international level. The same applies to Southgate. Good guy, he's restored some pride in the national team but does he have the tactical acumen to mix it with the big boys? No chance.
  25. 5000-1 We can also finish 11th behind Wham and everton cloggers Sounds familiar... "I don't think I'd put a dollar on that"
