Championship top scorers.

It also shows that we have depth and can get goals from anyone in the team. I would rather it spread out than over relying on one source. Would still be nice to Vardy in high double figures though. -

Tradespeople who don’t turn up. Chimney sweep booked, stayed in all day when could have been doing something constructive just for them to be a no show. No phone call or anything. do these people not care that by wasting my time waiting for them to show up I have lost my own days income.

We were linked with him previously and at the time most thought it would have been a bit of a meh signing, including myself, so wasn’t particularly excited when we got him at the start of the season. i think I was influenced by watching him alongside Henderson in a turgid England side, and then the fact that he lost his place in the spurs side under conte. Thought he was overrated, if reasonably tidy, and coming here was simply because nobody else wanted him and his career was fizzling out. i was so wrong, from the outset he impressed and has gotten so important to how we play. I was even more surprised when I realised he is still only 27,. We have got a bargain and he is here in his prime years. not only is he tremendous on the pitch, but seems to be loving it here and embodies the new team spirit that we seem to have now.

Is Bobby Amartey any relation to big Dan? -
Being able to do tricks and keepy uppies does not necessarily translate into being a decent footballer, but this kid looks like he could be something else. Reminds me of some of the old videos of Messi when he was about the same age. If he turns into half the player we have a baller on our hands. Lets hope he develops into the real deal

Never been an advocate of the “plan B” , which for most people seems to be to simply lump it forward. However, Matt Piper made a good point on RL, in that at certain points in games, we should look to utilise Vardy in a more direct way, playing to his strengths. We have Vestergaard and Winks, who can both play a good accurate pass through the lines, which Vardy thrives on. Obviously this will not work against teams that come to park the bus from minute one, but where teams try to press us, or double up on our wingers, then a ten minute spell trying to release Vardy in this way will mix it up a bit and teams will not know whether to sit or try and press us. If they realise that trying to press us high up the pitch leaves them vulnerable to our striker getting in behind, then they might be more reluctant and we revert to our patient possession style.

Interesting that in their response, Everton said that they would be monitoring with interest the outcomes with respect to other teams. Wonder who they mean....... the PL/FA could leave themselves wide open if they bottle it in respect of Man City, Chelsea etc. Also given the punishment dished out in their case I am sure (like everyone else) that everton will expect something proportionate given the number of alleged breaches committed by Man City in particular. on the other hand, the cynic in me thinks that by dropping charges in the other cases, it gives the powers that be an excuse to accept an appeal and reverse the decision against Everton.

Apparently his mum reckons his younger brother, who is at the academy, is just as, if not more talented than Will but does not have Will’s drive and passion (although this may change as he matures). During his injury he was a model patient and followed everything the docs and physios told him just so that he could get back to playing again as soon as physically able. lets hope he is as good as we think he is going to be.

Lots saying how do we prove their cheating cost us our pl place. Fine, but this will be a civil case for compensation. In a civil court the burden of proof is based on the balance of probability, not beyond reasonable doubt as in a criminal case. to me, it seems a reasonable argument that by the nature of what they did, ie cheating to improve their squad and therefore chances of success, whereas we stuck to the rules instead of strengthening, it is not too big a leap to correlate the outcome on the balance of probability

Wafers every time, BUT, and I know I will get shot down in flames here, they simply have to be dark chocolate ones in the blue wrapper.

Said previously, we used to moan about lack of strength in depth. We now have half a dozen with international experience, two pl & fa cup winners, pl golden boot winner on the bench in the championship.

Is there a case for an orange card allied to a, say 5 minute, sin bin for persistent fouling none of which would warrant a card individually, or fouls not warranting a straight red but perhaps more than a yellow, for eg late tackle, not deliberate but potentially injurious. Once sin bin time completed, the orange reverts to yellow. What do you think?
-
But that’s the point, the team offended against is still potentially disadvantaged Didn’t know that, but if no yellow the disadvantage still applies. my point though is that there needs to be some discretion on the part of the ref allowed here perhaps.

The rules on players having to leave the pitch following treatment really need looking at. I understand that this statutory time out was brought in to deter players from feigning injury to time waste but in many cases it actually penalises teams where a player is genuinely injured following a foul. On a number of occasions I have seen a player brought down on a breakaway resulting in treatment being required. Ok so the offender gets booked and a free kick awarded, but, the injured player has to leave the pitch so not only has the attack been broken up, the resulting free kick has to be taken with only ten men on the pitch, thereby putting the team that has been offended against at a disadvantage. can anyone clarify what would happen if a player was fouled in the box requiring treatment, thereby having to leave the field, and that player was your regular nominated penalty taker?

Like the decisions themselves, opinions on VAR are subjective, dependant on whether they go your way or not. for me it is not the system itself but it’s application that irks most fans. Personally, I think that, other than offside which is factual, if VAR cannot decide within a set time limit, say a minute, then it should go with the on field decision as there is no clear and obvious error. also there needs to be clarity, so if the ref was miked up fans would at least understand what was being checked and the thought process behind the final decision. Ally this with a few simple rule changes and Clear direction to officials on things like handball and things would be less controversial and not interrupt the flow of the game and spontaneity etc.

Good game. Credit to Sunderland, they came here and tried to go toe to toe with us and created a few chances. But, we hit the post twice and their keeper was motm . On another day that could have been 4-2 or 5-3.

Bench full of internationals, UCL experience and just to rub it in FA cup winners..... it's not fair

Haha. Vard'y will probably be rotated for this one

Gamekeepers are the biggest bunch of hypocritical ar*eholes around, indiscriminately , and illegally shooting and laying poison baits for birds of prey. They have almost wiped out the breeding hen harrier population of England. Almost every satellite tagged raptor, including golden eagles, that has unaccountably disappeared has done so over grouse moors. Even though all birds of prey are protected species the number of prosecutions is pitiful because the majority of the shooting brigade, and especially the estate owners, are all upper class with friends in high places.

It is a fact of life in football these days. To be successful on the field you need to generate income off it, and we are talking mega bucks. Those who complain about ticket and merch prices etc better brace themselves for a long life in the lower divisions. If we want to compete, then we have raise the cash to afford quality players. hospitality is just that. Companies use boxes to entertain prospective clients, butter up essential suppliers and even hold staff recruitment events etc. They do it to impress, its a look at me thing, and that works better for them the higher the profile of club and the swankier the facilities. Clubs know that the corporates will pay a premium and therefore pander to this (let’s face it they are corporate themselves, as much as some fans want to ignore the fact and live in the past). Cash is king

Takes more than a bit of pi55 taking to upset me lol. Far too long in the tooth ( I can even decipher some of @fuchsntf posts). As JV said in his interview them that give it will get it back. You have been warned........ be afraid,

Unless things have changed in the last few years it was mandatory for all matchday stewards to undertake a level 2 qualification including basic first aid, conflict resolution and crowd management. i am not saying that all of them are actually any good at it, and let’s be honest, whist many of them do it for the right reasons, it is a job that will always attract a certain element of jobs worth’s.
