  1. High risk high reward, chin up boys, we'll have these
  2. wout there it is
  3. I was about to say 'surely Sky have tried that angle before' - then remembered we haven't played them in the league since two years before we won it.
  4. It will be a shinji-style arse scuff that somehow trickles in under the keeper. Calling it now.
  5. Tielemans is an odd one though, there's nothing to suggest underlying injury issues from overuse, and he was one of the few to avoid sizeable layoffs when it really hit the fan in 21-22. He played 30+ games for us for three consecutive seasons. If his pathetic fitness levels were really an issue of being over-utilised, he should surely be sharp and ready for Villa by now. He's a real anomaly against the belief that regular gametime is the only way to keep match-fit.
  6. Bloody hell, my morning coffee hasn't even kicked in yet and we're 90 minutes from kickoff, fair bastard play to anyone who has actually travelled to Lancashire for this
  7. Lovely finish Caillou
  8. My hope is that Southampton pick up the occasional 'big win' that papers over the cracks and reduces the heat on Martin while fixing nothing - a bit like us last season. That said, a draw today would give us a nice chance to put further daylight between us and these two when we play tomorrow.
  9. I mean technically he did... by shipping him off on loan to Watford to get away from his sinking ship.
  10. Yeah, the bias is incredible, doesn't bother me one bit though. Let them kid themselves, we're defending well and, after the season we've had so far, I'm not really nervous and won't be until they get desperate and bring on someone of a higher calibre than Gakpo. I'm going to jinx him into having a blinder of a second half and scoring, but that Dork wearing 50 for them is proper bobbins. Tete levels of failing to beat a man. We're fine. The only time we properly rode our luck was the crossbar tap and Coady's clearance. Apart from that they've been reduced to potshots. Meanwhile we're looking dangerous every time we break. Nacho needs hooking for Vards or Daka though, dunno what's going on with him these past few weeks but he's well off it.
  11. whooooaaaa
  12. We're holding possession AND looking to break on the counter when they mess up in the final third. This is great, Rodgersball could never We'll have to ride our luck to keep this scoreline but bloody brilliant so far. They might have already equalised as I write this with the delay in broadcast, but who knows. Keep it up boys.
  13. He's in demand from other clubs, wants to be here and will more than likely take Wilf's place if the latter's upturn leads to him leaving. This extension makes plenty of sense. We either cash in or he gets more regular minutes in future seasons. Enzo clearly sees something in him.
  14. Would have been concerning if one of Kele or Daka had left. As it is, no problem with this so long as he's ready for when AFCON comes.
  15. West Brom's entire business model was built on getting parachute payments every other year. 😂 I don't agree with them, and would rather there were more stringent rules on how it can be spent - basically just give clubs enough to balance the books but ringfence it from any playing-side investment - but it's rich to have criticism of it coming from fans of a side whose best known 'song' if you can even call it that is literally a reference to them being a yo-yo club.
  16. Worth every penny if we finally beat Liverpool at Anfield with an out-of-the-blue masterclass. 23 years and counting.
  17. Well, somewhat ironically our fellow passengers on the Relegation Express in Southampton were the worst we've played. Makes me incredibly grateful for the job Enzo is doing with similar resources - this league is a clear step down in quality but they are living proof that if you get it wrong, you'll be a laughing stock. I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw from Rotherham to be honest. For the shoestring they operate on, they played some decent stuff and caused us a few problems. Hugill looks a decent player at this level. Standard of defending overall has been pretty poor though, in that same game you could point out the mad space Kasey found for both goals as a good example - Tyler Blackett rolling back the clock to the 5-3! Bristol City are the only ones who have actually looked resolute so far, albeit balanced out by zero attacking threat. Even for Hull, the clean sheet was more a case of them riding their luck and some very dodgy officiating. We got our boots mixed up with the other bunch of Tigers across town. Cov probably the best all round opposition we've faced and would be surprised if they don't bag a playoff spot again this season - though couldn't say if that was partially them playing up to the derby occasion as their results have been mixed since. My ranking (best to worst) Coventry Rotherham Bristol City Hull Huddersfield Cardiff Norwich Southampton
  18. Leeds and (especially) Southampton are showing that this league can't be underestimated. We had our first proper warning from Hull. Otherwise we've been bloody brilliant so far. Speaks volumes of the mentality and the squad depth that we're able both to see games out and grab late winners. Keep it up. PS - lovely to see God on Crutches today. They were well organised, if a bit of a wet fart up front. Hope to see them in the playoff picture. ❤️
  19. First rule of football - do NOT rile up Jamie Vardy as he's about to have a 1-on-1 with the keeper 😂 VINTAGE
