  1. Saw this today and will be boycotting St Martins Coffee until they end this partnership. Plenty of other local coffee businesses that haven't decided that now of all times is the perfect time to collaborate with the club.
  2. Give it Kingy til the end of the seas- oh wait a minute
  3. I mean we just did on the pitch, why the hell not
  4. Protest was the best part of today, says it all
  5. Take it back about Richards, must have slept with Rowett's daughter.
  6. Ah just stick Bobby or Jannik up front then. I could have been at the Olympics with the amount of mental gymnastics I've been doing to block out the idea of Ayew having a part to play in our survival bid.
  7. Reckon he will bag a few, but not the numbers we need. He's still the best we got from the perspective of what he brings to our overall play though. Boro confirmed that Ayew is not that and never will be. I'd put money on Richards outscoring both him and the lump this season if he gets even ten games in this side though. He's only got to get six goals for crying out loud! We'll have to see if Rowett is willing to give him a chance first. I really hope it's him and Patson on rotation before long.
  8. Gonna start posting her in the matchday thread instead of the countdown lady, let's leave it at that
  9. Cut through all the noise and the constant attacks from both the right wing media and a desperate Labour party, and it wasn't even close in the end. Despite it all, it's still the cost of living and the decline of public services that matter most to the electorate. Big up the 'Green Menace!' 💚 Now off you pop back to GBeebies, Matt! What a weird fella.
  10. Respect for mentally blocking Cooper out of your memory
  11. I don't. Sums up everything wrong with the type of players we've signed over the last half decade that he's fallen upwards to be playing in the world's premier club football tournament after putting in pathetic displays for us on so, so many occasions, including in the second tier. Still, I did laugh when he missed that chance as I'm sure it won't endear him to Monaco's 27 fans. Then I remembered the ***** is still playing in the Champions League against the reigning champions, so probably feels justified that he's 'better than us ' despite the result. Hope failure follows him everywhere he goes to be honest. Embarrassment of a footballer.
  12. And that's the difference - it's been years since we signed anyone with that blend. Even if the latter is proving reasonably useful in the bottom half of the championship, Steve Cooper deserves trying for war crimes for bringing in Ayew and De-Cordova Reid to fit that "experience" mould in the Premier League in 2024. We haven't really signed a single "league-proven" player with experience who didn't turn out to be a shit chancer or blatantly over-the-hill for years. I'm honestly struggling to pick one out more recently than Huth that you know was capable at the level and actually delivered. I guess Evans for a short while was decent when there was no real pressure on us as a club, but he was also injured half the time and didn't exactly galvinise the dressing room during that relegation. Then again, he had previous at West Brom where his main contribution during their own relegation was to steal a taxi in Spain with his mate. Great leader. We just stopped doing our research properly once we won the league and Pearson's influence on the squad dynamic slowly but surely started to unravel. Character stopped mattering and we became a retirement home for "experienced" wastemen like Bertrand, Coady and Ayew. Once the leaders from the title winning squad left, it was over - the ones left over (Vardy and Albrighton) for all the love I had for them, were not those sorts of characters and were surrounded by increasingly lazy and checked-out players. I'd be very interested to see who he identifies for what let's face it, will be either a League One campaign or a year of consolidation. Either way, the opportunity is there to build a new spine for this team, and I'd trust a guy who has spent most of his managerial career at this level to be able to identify the sorts of solid, hard-working if unglamorous players capable of doing it.
  13. yessss i step away for 30 seconds and that happens, haha looking more like Millwall we've got to root for at this rate
  14. How on earth is that not a backpass from the Cov CB?
  15. That argument falls down knowing Ayew is out of contract in the summer though - effectively, we have the services of both players for the same amount of games. I'm optimistic that Rowett will have seen Jordan slow down our game and fall over himself last night and draw the conclusion the last three managers have failed to - that he's a waste of time and we need to try someone else in rotation with Daka. I reckon we see Richards start to get minutes in the next few games.
  16. One thing that is pretty massive is that I thought our performance levels were roughly equal in each half. It was only really the defensive brainfart for the goal and them starting the second half semi-brightly that I could point to as examples of our levels dropping. By the 55 minute mark it was pretty even, and we rode the storm reasonably well when Boro applied pressure. Was it the best we've played in terms of actual passages of play and output? Nowhere near. But as a 90-minute performance gauging consistent levels of effort and matching the opponent, it was the best for me. Better than Derby away, which I held as the benchmark so far this season - and that was a 60-minute performance followed by trying our best to gift them a route back into it.
  17. He'll play every game under Rowett, who clearly trusts him from his time at Oxford. And last night was his best performance since December, which is promising stuff. Shame his defensive partner cost us (again). It's purely a matter of who partners him. Surely it'll be Vestergaard and/or then Lascelles once fitness allows? I've given up hope that we see Souttar back in a Leicester shirt.
  18. Not sure what's changed to warrant people bottling the protest - we're still going into this one in the Championship relegation zone? I really like Rowett for what it's worth and want him to get us out of the mess we're in, but the reasons for this protest go far beyond anything on the pitch itself. Like others have said, you can absolutely protest the dreadful ownership and board decisions that have led us to this point AND support the team in what is a massive game.
  19. He's the guy, should look to keep him regardless of which league we're in next season. I have my doubts with our latest board appointments though. As others have said, it stinks of us learning absolutely nothing and carting Gary off to get another braindead possession-for-the-sake-of-it manager.
  20. OK, now the dust has settled - Skipp, Winks and Mukasa can all take a bow, they were all excellent. Our first choice midfield trio for the rest of the season. And, dare I say... good game from Luke Thomas? The effort levels are so, so much higher - but the sour note was seeing Ayew come on and do what we all know he does, which is the square sum of feck-all.
  21. I HATE YOU JORDAN AYEW, PISS OFF TO QATAR OR SOMETHING SO WE DON'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH YOU AND YOUR SLOW GREEDY UNFOOTBALL EVER AGAIN (inb4 late winner from him)
  22. I have the potential to develop an aneurysm every time I see him defend.
