It will be the likes of Ayew, Mcateer, Cordova Reid on the wing ahead of Mavidi, Fatawu, Monga. Maybe at best Alves will play who is good at retaining the ball when driving forwards. We would never have wingers that take a risk taking players on under Martin, it goes against everything he stands for in football.

You're not going to get fast wing play from Russel Martin. He prefered to play with slower indirect players out wide at Southampton and Swansea. Considering all the promotion of Monga over the last few months, if we bring in Martin or Dyche it shows just how poor our club's strategy is as he won't play under them.

Russell Martin is known at Swansea and Southampton for switching to a winning formula to save his job when it's going wrong then changing back to his idealistic way of playing football when he's in the clear. He is so adverse to change that he knows what tactics will win his team games and will consciously choose to not play that way as long as he's not at risk of being sacked. He will never change as he is too married to his ideals.

It's not just the style though, it's the mentality that comes with it. There's nothing worse than a manager who ingrains a style where the team are scared to take risks in the opposition third and are more willing to take them in their own penalty box. Martin won't take any responsibility for the struggles of the team either, like Brendan he is known for being elite at weaseling his way out of the firing line when the team is doing poorly.
