2026 isnt it? Please God it's 2026.

His contact runs out at the end of next season, his book value should be around £7mil in January. Hopefully there is someone who will buy for that.
-
No Coady please. Defenders are supposed to be able to defend first and foremost, not sure leadership means anything when we concede every time the opponent attacks with Coady on the pitch.
-
State of the squad and rest of the season, an opinion.

We spent £15million pounds on Faes, £11 mil on Okoli, £8mil on Coady, £20mil on Soumare, £20mil on Skipp. There are many clubs that are competitive in Europe whose record signing is £20mil or lower ie. PSV, Sporting. These teams are not spending more than we are. We dont have a budget issue, we outspend most clubs in Europe. We just spend our money poorly, our issue is that we need to change our transfer strategy. Look at the best teams in Europe that are not in the PL and see what works for them and what £20mil gets them. -
At least the squad is so bad that if we do it right replacing them with better players shouldnt even cost that much. Genuinely think you could improve every position in that backline for a total of £30mil.
-
We were actually considering signing Theate in the summer as well. Joke of a club.

He isnt the only problem but he is a small part of our biggest problem which is that we have been signing players who arent good enough for the last 5 years. We need a rebuild of our transfer department, worst part of the club currently. -

Ayew still on , thank **** we wont have this preferential treatment for him and Cordova Reid under Ruud -
Doesnt matter if he has a buyer or not. He needs to be shipped out on loan or sent to the reserves. We cant have his catastrophic defending impact the club any further than it already has.
-
Because Skipp is also not good enough. El Khannouss should be starting though.
-
We need a new DM who can cover the defence and who is comfortable on the ball. Neither Soumare nor Ndidi can offer both (not Skipp either).
-
Here are 3 young ball playing centrebacks at midtable Belgian clubs who are better than our centrebacks: Omar Fayed - 21 years old. Plays for Beerschot on loan from Fenerbahçe. Starred for Egypt at the Olympics. Rein Van Helden - 22 years old. Plays for STVV. Jose Marsa - 22 years old. Plays for Mechelen. Excellent on the ball but struggled at Sporting so might not be good enough defensively.
-
El Khannouss will be our best player under Van Nistelrooy.

Why is El Khanouss not starting? He's far to good to be sat on the bench behind this start XI. -
Alexandro Bernabei from Celtic on loan at Internacional looks like a good option. Seemingly fallen out of favour with Rodgers and has been arguably the best left back in the Brazilian league. His loan ends in December, for £8mil I think he could be a steal for us. Potential Argentinian National team player.
-
For saying a player with 85 PL goals is a good player? I wasnt saying that we had a chance of signing him, just that if we did sign him he would be good for us.
-
Rashford is bad for a £350,000 Manchester United star player, for our level if we could get him on decent wages he would be a good signing. Similar type of player to Harvey Barnes and he was good for us.
-
To be fair to him, us being outside the relegation zone when he left is about as good as it was ever going to go down between him and us. Considering our performances he hasnt left us in too bad of a spot (arguably his transfers are what have hurt us most).
-
Ugo Raghouber from Lille on loan at USL Dunkerque is the kind of player Steve Walsh would sign as an unknown from Ligue 2 for £1m that would go on to be one of our best players.
-
Need a new DM, new fullbacks, new centrebacks and maybe a new winger.
-
Rodgers has the FA cup but personally I think him getting relegated despite inheriting one of the best squads in the league at the time will win out as his main legacy here. The longer we go without being able to establish ourselves as a PL team, the more people will realise what was squandered by Rodgers.
-
We had our best chance to establish ourselves as PL regulars after the title win, we wont get that chance back. I think Rodgers will slip further and further down this list the more time we spend in the championship over the next decade or so, there's not many managers around who have done as much damage to a club as he has.
-
Winks over Drinkwater is a ridiculous opinion. Regardless of what happened at Chelsea, Drinkwater won a league title for us, including a great performance at the Etihad where he bullied David Silva of all players.
-
Somehow we quite comfortably perform worse off the pitch as a club than on the pitch. In the past year alone we've somehow managed to make ourselves enemy Nr 1 for the PL and EFL in respect to looking to give us a point deductions and transfer embargo. Now our shirt sponsor has gone bust. One day the club's poor leadership is going to catch up to the club, like it did in 2023 after years of mismanagement, except we're going to fall even further next time with our legal loopholes no longer working.
-
He's a player that only excels in possession. Considering we are towards the bottom of the league it wouldn't be that big of an issue if we lost him and used a midfielder that protects the back line more.
