Crazy how one good season in the championship hoodwinked our fanbase into thinking Harry Winks is a good player. You even get some fans saying he would look decent in a top 6 side, the reality is he's not good enough for this level, there's a reason he's played a similar number of league minutes for us in 2 seasons as he did in 6 or so for Spurs.

The only reason Cooper had any points was because we had Hermansen in goal. We dont grind out anything without Cooper having one of the best shotstoppers in the league in net.

We overpaid for him (massively) but he's our only defender who can actually tackle. Considering the number of chances we are giving up we should start him.

I've posted this guy before but surely we should be looking at him. Composure and passing of a midfielder. Dribbling of a winger (despite not being fully physically developed) Movement and finishing of a striker Only 18 yrs old Apparently available for £10mil because of parent club's financial issues.

Stolarczyk has also apparently faced the highest average quality of chances in the top 5 leagues. Means that our defence is regularly leaking good chances for the opposition, rather than him missing easy saves. Ward on the other hand had a 40% save rate with far lower quality chances against him.

Is it ever a "proper review" if Rudkin comes out the back of it with his job as DoF still intact? The good recruitment under Macia was only a band aid for the issue that the people put in place at board level by King Power, under Vichai, are incompetent at their job. Our issue with our transfer strategy is that Rudkin has no long term strategy. There's no coherency between the managers he brings in nor the players we sign under those managers. There was no sign under Vichai that he was questioning Rudkin's position, and it really should have after the Adrien Silva debacle, and Macia was only ever going to be a short-mid term appointment. We have always been a club on shaky foundations under King Power, even with Vichai alive, we may have built something great on those foundations temporarily but the lack of forward planning at board level always meant we were not going to be sustainable as a PL team.

I agree with this completely. It would be interesting to here the opinions of the other side, what do our fans think that we did well under Vichai that we dont do under Top? The issues that are the root cause of our downfall have been building since Nigel left and Rudkin became DoF with a good couple windows under Puel/Macia giving us a second wind. If you think back to the biggest shambles that happened under King Power a lot happened when Vichai was still around. Adrien Silva transfer, 12.5mil for Danny Ward, £17mil on Ghezzal. Even with Vichai still alive it would have all fallen apart, yes we had success but the competency of the club was always surface level. Clubs like Brighton and Brentford have strong foundations because the ownership of those clubs have high football intelligence, whereas the football intelligence under King Power was only ever at ground level.

Ugo Raghouber at Lille is the best possible DM we could sign imo. Strong defensively and great at passing and carry the ball up the pitch.

We are somehow both at the same time. We go entire summer transfer windows scraping pennies together then whenever we have any leg room we throw it all away on mediocrity.

Part of it is his mess, Souttar, Kristiansen and Tete were his signings in 22/23. Might have been a bit of Rodgers forcing certain profiles on him but we cant know.

Why did i get the idea that Glover was an ex-youth scout at Man City that identified talent like Sancho for them? To be fair Fatawu and Hermansen were good finds but the other transfer business we have done under him makes more sense now.

Is the reason that he has fallen off so hard because he can no longer train regularly? He's still good enough physically in matches to score, otherwise he wouldn't be getting the chances he has done. He has just lost the composure in front of goal that he used to have.

There's a reason he's going to Charlotte FC. The fact we were willing to spend 10mil on a season long loan for washed Zaha is tragic.

If we would have bought him for £8mil when we were in the Prem we would all see his signing as a waste of money. It's only because he was able to shine at a lower level for us that he is seen as a decent player by our fans. He's just not up for this level, same with Mavididi.

Liverpool were linked to Stefanos Tzimas (19 yr old striker at Nuremberg) but are no longer interested. Could be an alternative to Latte Lathe with a higher long term ceiling. Could probably get him for the £10-13mil we're selling Cannon for as well.

We either sell him for decent money now or he lounges on our bench for the rest of the season and loses all his value.

As above Amad Diallo couldn't get into the Rangers team but has established himself at Man United. There have been many other loanees as well that have done well at their parent club after struggling on loan ie. Kane, Akgun last season. Baybrooke is still young and talented, he still has every possibility of making it with us.

Sadly Ndidi seems to take a while to get back to form after injury in recent years. Hopefully that's not the case now as we need him to have a running start when he gets back.

Better sides have better midfielders that offer both composure on the ball and physicality. Winks has some Europa league level attributes but he's also severely lacking in some areas (ie. Off the ball contribution) that makes him a luxury player at times. He's about a good enough player for where we are now but i cant imagine better sides would be happy with the way opposition players bypass him so easily.

Wasnt a fan of the 'we are going down chants' starting at 5-2. We need as much momentum as we can get going into the Palace game (although I agree with the sentiment that the club's leadership needs to step up).

I dont mind it if it's for 1-2mil (watch it be 6-7mil)
