We ran that risk with Schmeichel and Ward for a few seasons. We're not in a position to have 2 starting quality goalkeepers, if we sign a new goalkeeper I can see stolarczyk leaving.
-
Ward is fine as a second choice goalkeeper and as I mentioned I would like to see us give Stolarczyk a go as first choice if Hermansen goes.
-
If we sell then we already have another young high potential keeper in stolarczyk, after the Danny Ward fiasco I wouldn't be surprised if we reinvested but personally I would stick with Stolarczyk.
-
If Conor Gallagher can start for Chelsea then Dewsbury Hall can.
-
I'm coming around to Cooper, he was poor in the PL but getting Forest into the PL is a genuinely impressive achievement considering their basket case owners and transfer strategy. I think he could be quite good for us.
-
My heart skipped a beat when i saw this.
-
I want to keep him as well but that's ridiculous if you believe that was Wilf's best season for us. Ndidi from 2017-2021 was arguably the best midfielder in the PL that didn't play for the big 6, he was good this season but he is no longer at that level.
-
I think he's a similar level to Madueke and will turn out better over the course of his career. Madueke is good going forwards but doesn't help defensively at all whereas Fatawu is also good going forwards and helps out a lot defensively. Whether Fatawu is better than Estevao remains to be seen.

You get some defenders who cant defend in a high line but are a rock defending inside the box. Faes is good at defending in a high line but around the box he is a serious bomb scare. He could be OK in Postecoglu's system as they play a suicidal high line but realistically he's not Spurs level.

Fantastic news, our best striker last season. I have a feeling next season would be a massive slog if we didnt sign him.
-
Too many options, Justin's best fullback position is LB so ideally he would play most of his minutes there instead of at RB where he's not particularly comfortable.
-
Expectations shouldnt even be at 17th. With the points deduction we might be looking at one of the lowest points scores in the PL era, if we leave the season with some dignity intact I'll be happy.
-
I think it's just the standard way of doing transfer fees.
-
If it works like player transfers then the amount of money we paid city would have been spread across his contract for FFP. Since he's gone we can no longer spread his transfer value across his contract. So if we paid them 1 mil then we would pay 250k per year over a 4 year contract for the transfer whereas now he's gone we would have the remaining 750k on the books for this year. If we had spent 2 or 3 mil on him then that would offset the transfer value we're getting for him by quite a bit.
-
Makes you think about why Roma want to replace Abraham with Daka? Maybe Abraham is shit (he is).
-
Any idea how much we would have paid Man City to bring him in? Not sure this is as much of an FFP win we might think it is.
-
Not sure I'd be happy with Potter. There's a lot of Brighton fans who dont want him back, saying his football was too slow and boring and that he would be a step backwards from De Zerbi. I have a feeling his passing style might not work for us.

Personally I think it's tinpot to artificially make club legends an exclusive club that only a few players get into. We're a century old club with a rich history and our title win is by far the biggest defining moment in our history, at a minimum all of the starting XI should be considered club legends and bench players like Nathan Dyer, Andy King and Ulloa should be as well. At the end of the day in 30 years we're all still going to be talking about how Dyer got himself knocked out to win the game against Aston Villa or Ulloa's penalty against West Ham or Andy King being the only player in English football to win league 1, championship and PL with the same club. What else is a legend than someone who does something remarkable for the club that will be talked about for generations? All the bigger clubs have countless club legends, we have so many players with amazing stories that achieved miracles whilst playing for our club, why should we not respect them with legend status?

I prefer mavididi, Diangana got 1 goal 0 assists in the prem last time he was up.
-
The West Brom squad isnt that good though. It's not really failing at the last hurdle when Southamtpon have better players all over the pitch. Also it's not like Potter is known for being able to grind out results against adversity.
-
Honestly reading this it seems like it might be a blessing in disguise for Enzo to go if we sign Corberan. His style seems much more suited to what our fanbase likes.
-
I'm not going to massively praise one of the worst goalkeepers in our history am I? I just think that having him as Nr 2 isnt a disaster as he wont need to do much.
-
Ward was fine as a number 2 to be fair. He does decently in the cups against weaker teams that dont threaten the goal much.
-
It's strange that we've already decided as a fanbase that he's going to go there and be a failure. A lot of people on here will have egg on their face if he does well with them.

I love how the mentality of the average Leeds fan works. They feel the need to force themselves into every conversation about football to show how massive they are. Smaller clubs like ours could never have a better team than Leeds and they'll let you know it constantly over the season, hence the league table with August removed, their obsession with the 17 point crumble, them being better than us because they beat us Home and Away (Middlesborough anyone?). Then when their team inevitably fails to back up all the crap theyve talked throughout the season, the cognitive dissonance kicks in. Anything you dish back to them just reinforces how massive a club they are because "everyone's talking about Leeds". They just cant seem to understand that if they hadn't been so cocky then people wouldn't care as much that it's all blown up in their face.
