First thing I'll say is that this signing is nothing more than a fantasy. Never going to happen. However, if it did, look past the impact he could have on the pitch. What would a signing of this calibre do for squad morale? They'd be training with and playing with a world class player. What a statement of intent that would send to everyone. And think of the players that would benefit from training with him. Barnes, Maddison, Perez, Sowah, Iheanacho and Daka could all improve their game just by playing with him. I'm not advocating we sign the most expensive coach in history of course, and personally, it's not a signing I would particularly want. But to those asking where the benefit would be or what can he offer? A fair bit.

Except we've heard from many sources that Tielemans doesn't want to go. He's very, very happy in Leicester. All he's been doing is focusing on his Euros and now his holiday, and when he returns, he'll be hoping that options have come up to think about. He's a thinker, he wants options. Even if the one he's most likely to take is to stay with Leicester, he doesn't want to think that he's here because that's the only option he has. Plus the more clubs after him, the more leverage he has when negotiating with us. It's the smart move from his point of view. I'm not worried about this one bit. He's staying.

Have you ever watched a Rodgers team play? He encourages fluidity and movement. He asks multiple players to roam where they want, he asks that the entire formation change on a dime constantly, and most of the times we've had a poor first half, the second half they're playing with more freedom and more fluidity, after a bollocking at half time. If we've ever had a poor match it's always because we "weren't moving fast enough", not because players weren't disciplined and staying in their boxes. Predictable players who don't deviate from their roles?? A player that fits Rodgers' profile can play at least 2, if not 3 positions comfortably, he loves versatility, and it's not just so he has backups in an injury crisis, its so he has players that don't feel stuck in their box. Full backs that feel like wingers when they move forward, Midfielders that aren't afraid to make runs or fall back into defense, strikers that can pick a pass from deep. Seriously, I don't know what team you've been watching these last couple of years, but it's clearly not Leicester.

I don't think anyone's saying we want to sell Praet, just that it's expected that Praet would want to move to somewhere he can get game time and it would be great to see him make more of a career than as a bench player. Obviously it would be much better for the club for him to stay, he's a very good player and a well liked one. It's just hard to see a route for him where he breaks into a starting position without injuries.
