  1. Surely the song rights itself? That's Amore! When his boot hits the ball He will run past them all That's Soumare!
  2. Finest We'd to come out of Jamaica!
  3. This one is down to our scouts, not Rodgers, we've been after him long before Rodgers joined us. We were after his signature before he signed for Barca. A true long term target.

    Ozan Kabak

Are you implying that rotation has been an option before and Rodgers has just not been doing it? If he felt he could rotate without loss of quality then I'm sure he would have, but we have yet to have a position where that's even been possible other than fullback, and he has been rotating that position around.

Love how no one in this thread seems to understand the meaning of the word rotation. In an ideal world, where you have 4 players in the same position all at the top of the game, there is no 1st or 4th choice player. They all play, they are all happy, and no one is left overworked as they all get breaks. I know it's commonly said that every player wants to play every game, but that really isn't good for anyone. No one can play every game, it's simply not sustainable in the long term. We finished this season with Castagne and Morgan in the back 3. Tarkowski wouldn't be coming here as 4th choice, and he wouldn't be knocking Fofana or Soyuncu to the bench either. He would be giving us that depth that we've been begging for, and all 4 would see a lot of game time. And for the same reasons I'd love to see someone like Kabak come in as well to give us 5 quality options for this rotation. Again, he wouldn't be knocking anyone to the bench and he wouldn't be 5th choice. Everyone plays, everyone gets breaks.
  6. We have 3 currently, with Sowah finally able to join us after getting his work permit in OHL. But he's young and a rotational player, the other winger needs to be the main choice on the right.
  7. Tbf it's less our injury record under Rodgers and more our injury record under Covid has been horrifying. Hopefully that should start being behind us after a proper preseason and a normal length season.
  8. I keep seeing GK listed. Do we really need to have 3 keepers in the squad for 2 of them to sit around doing nothing all year? If Jakupovic leaves, surely its fine to have just Kasper and Ward while having a recall clause in Iverson's loan?
  9. I must be misunderstanding how it works then, because I thought there were only 4 spaces for Champions League football for England teams. Were Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool to be top 3 they'd get Champions League, and a hypothetical 5th place Chelsea get Champions League for winning, well, the Champions League. That would mean that 4th place is only a Europa League slot because all 4 Champions League slots are taken. Is this not how it works?
  10. So correct me if I'm wrong, but assume we beat Tottenham last week and ended in 4th place... We'd still be in Europa League and not Champions League right?
  11. Bertrand comes in as a short term first choice LB. An experienced head, and capable of doing the job. While doing this, he also mentors Thomas and teaches him everything he knows. When Justin is ready to come back we don't have to rush him in, he can ease his way back into fitness, and eventually takes over as first choice LB. Bertrand remains for the rest of the year, maybe next season too, as a rotational player, all while continuing to mentor Thomas and Justin. It's a move that makes so much sense for everyone involved.
  12. Is no one going to suggest Ryan Bennett??! No? Oh ok then, I definitely won't be.
  13. Positions we need, and who is likely to fill the gap. Rotational Striker - Edouard Right wing starter - ??? Left Wing backup - Sowah Backup experienced CB - Tarkowski? Backup CB - Kabak? LB Starter - Bertrand? Midfield gets messy as it depends who stays and who goes. Currently we have: CAM - Maddison, Perez CM - Tielemans, Praet CDM - Ndidi, Mendy, Choudhury I know a lot aren't happy with the CAM options but I don't see us bringing anyone else in for that role, it's not a priority. Praet and Choudhury I fully expect to go. While I don't believe we need a replacement for Choudhury, Praet as a Backup/Alternative option for Tielemans never really worked, so to replace Praet: Rotational CM - Soumare Assuming Choudhury does leave, we have space for another Midfielder that can provide us options in either CM or CAM. Backup CM - KDH So I'd like to see 6 come in, not counting our guys on loan. Interestingly, none of these mentioned are big money signings, with the most expensive likely to be Tarkowski. I'm confident that with the new sponsor deal, the cup win, Europe for the second year, as well as other things that the purse strings are being heavily loosened this year, and it makes me wonder what the budget is for a quality Right Winger.
  14. They're in the football business, that's something that could happen at any time, you can't be worried about that. Absolutely a risk I would take were I his agent.
  15. This thread is hysterical. Let's think about it from his agent's perspective. His agent that we know from experience is awkward, patient and willing to drag things out if it leads to a better contract for his client. His agent that we know is very close with Youri. You have a client who is very settled in his club, and both parties want to sign a new contract, but you want your client to get the best contract possible. What do you do? What you do is you wait. You advise him to not proceed with contract talks before the new transfer window opens. You reach out to other clubs to hear out potential offers. You leak out whispers of interest. You let the player represent his country during the upcoming international tournament, putting him in the shop window as speculation grows. This achieves two things. It keeps your client's options open, if a big opportunity turns up that he is interested in he can take it. But if he truly is settled in at the club he is at, you can be sure that when he does sign a new contract for them, it will be a lucrative one, as they will be willing to increase wages simply out of fear of losing him to clubs that the client actually has no interest in joining. Agency work involves a lot of manipulation and game playing, and this reeks of it. Don't expect a new contract announcement any time soon, but that doesn't mean he isn't staying. It was the same story two years ago, all these stories of Man Utd and Arsenal coming in for him and he was never interested, it was all games by his agent.
  16. But Brendan has said he wants us pressing all over the pitch.
  17. Tbf I was more tying to be facetious than make any actual point
  18. I have it on good authority that this mystery source is #NeverWrong
  19. Not sure, shall we ask FA Cup winning, 19 year old Luke Thomas how his life in our academy has been so far?
  20. So you have no idea what you're talking about and making grand assumptions based on other assumptions. Thanks for your input.
  21. You need to stand your ground on that one mate, that's a cracker of a name!
  22. Blasphemy, that pink kit is one of the best kits we've had and I won't hear another slanderous word against it!
  23. He's quoted Vardy as an inspiration for him and he's very much a "diamond in the rough" or "silver medalist" that Rodgers and Congerton go on about. I think he does fit the profile.
  24. Perez. Just because he didn't get on the score sheet today doesn't mean he wasn't good up front. He was making shots, got a few on target, and had good movement off the ball.
