Great save Ward 😂
-
How did we not score. We are so rubbish
-
Same players over and over again
-
Literally get the shot on target and you score. It was bad enough under Rodgers watching this horror show week in week out, but to have learnt nothing and keep playing the competition winner in goal is beyond comprehension.
-
We genuinely would be better playing without a keeper. Ward's useless.
-
Is he on the wind up?!? Have Brighton accepted an offer on Buonanotte and they're insisting he doesn't play? That team selection makes absolutely no sense in such a critical game. Ward must have bugged the manager's office at the training ground. No other explanation for his constant selections.

To be fair to Pep, PSR has come back to bite them on the backside. Their net spend over the last 5 years has declined to the point that they're middle of the pack. Look at the talent they've lost; Kompany, Mahrez, Palmer, Laporte, Jesus, Alvarez, Fernandinho, Sterling, Zinchenko. Then factor in the injury to Rodri, and aging stars, such as De Bruyne, Walker, Gundogan, Silva, etc. who are clearly on their last legs. Contrast that against some of the players that have come in; Rico Lewis (talented but developing), Kovacic (squad player at best), Ake (wasn't good enough for Bournemouth let alone Man City), Doku (all style no end product), Savinho (talented but not currently hitting the levels needed). Of course they've brought in the likes of Haaland, and Gvardiol but these are the type of players you'd expect them to recruit at their peak to maintain their levels anyway. Look at yesterday's bench. Take De Bruyne and Walker out of the equation and I think most on here would be dissatisfied if those players were on our bench. It's certainly not a bench befitting a side competing in 4 competitions at the highest level. It really is no surprise that they are struggling, any team would. Furthermore if I remember correctly from a few years back someone posted an infographic demonstrating a strong correlation between net spend and finishing position, so again is it any surprise that they're starting to drop off?!? Pep is a genius, no doubt about that, his record speaks for itself. But his football is demanding and it needs competent footballers to achieve the levels he would expect, sadly a lot of the players that they've bought in simply aren't good enough, and with the number of games it's catching up with them.

Very odd. Thought it was a lot closer personally. Draw would have been a fair result.

If they take this fight seriously, it isn't going to last long. That said, wouldn't surprise me if Usyk throws this for another pay day.

Don't disagree (though based on current ownership alone. I do think that'd change if the owners did). However, my understanding is that the theoretical max capacity of the stadium after full redevelopment is expected to be around 48k and the potential costs associated with redevelopment of the West Stand to realise that capacity would be astronomical due to the structure and position of the stand. Marinakis at Forest is now talking about 50k, Newcastle are contemplating expansion/new ground, Villa are expanding, West Ham already above 60k, Wolves looking to expand beyond 50k, and Leeds 53k. All teams around us who will leave us behind over the next 10 years if we're not ambitious and push the boat out. Yes, development isnt cheap, but it only ever gets more expensive. I'd imagine development costs on what's been proposed is now somewhere between £200/250m alone. You're probably looking at another £500m+ to get to 48k by the time further plans are approved and spades are in the ground, so I don't think £1bn for a new stadium that would surpass anything currently planned is unreasonable. I agree that I do not foresee the club revisiting this proposal, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't given the evoluting nature of both the sport and associated infrastructure.
-
I think the longer this goes on I'm more inclined to think the club need to revisit their plans and rotate the pitch 90 degrees and build a completely new stadium on the existing and E-On sites. The more I see of our stand redevelopment versus what other clubs are doing the more I feel we're behind the curve with this project. Would much rather us commit to something that a) has a wow factor, b) is considered to be one of the best in the country, c) is designed to maximise accoustics, and d) can be scaled up for further development in future years. The current project just feels like a half arsed attempt that is modelled on outdated designs, and doesn't tie in with the rest of the stadium.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

Looking forward to it. Hope all is as well as can be expected Ric and tonight's session has provided some mental relief. -
Hang in there Chris. If you're really struggling with the wait at the doctors give 111 a call or go to your nearest walk in centre and explain the impact that the delay is having on your health. Be as honest as you are on here and you'll find that they'll either fast track you or at the very least help with medication that can stabilise you and get you through until your consultation. I can only imagine the impact that this is having on you, but there are brighter days ahead, I can assure you of that.

Reckon Ward must be a modern day Ali Dia that mysteriously never got found out. How anyone in their right mind thinks that this bloke is a professional footballer is beyond me. There's hope for us all! His movement between the sticks for that 2nd goal on Saturday is laughable. Like watching my mate in goal who can't play football whilst having a kick about down the park. Completely follows the movement of the ball rather than anticipating where the ball is likely to end up so he can fill the goal and make the save. Weird thing is, as much as I dislike him as a footballer, when you hear him speak he sounds like a really decent guy and a likeable bloke. Can only imagine that's why he's got as far as he has in his career, especially in an industry that is generally full of complete *****.

Don't worry lads, if Mads is injured Vards can wheel him out in a Wheelchair as he'll still be 10x better than Ward. At least he wouldn't get nutmegged.

Newcastle 4 Leicester 0 Post Match Thread
ian__marshall replied to OntarioFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Desperately need to bring in two new full backs in Jan as a minimum. The amount of goals we have conceded down the flanks this season is unbelievable. It's costing us far too many points and urgently needs sorting. -
Hermansen; Justin, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Choudhury, Skipp; McAteer, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy.
-
To be fair I think you would. Can't imagine many people would be happy having you around smelling like that 😂

What I don't get about this partnership with Adidas is that probably one of their most popular product lines at the moment is their Samba trainer range yet there's absolutely no sign of any club themed variants. They don't even need to be club branded, even a blue pair with either white or yellow stripes would probably sell like hot cakes, yet instead the club shop is stacked out with complete utter garbage that looks like cheap tat but is priced like mid tier designer gear. Very odd indeed.

Forest's Cooper's luck seems to have returned. How many points are they picking up from absolute dog muck defending?!? I think at best we'll finish lower half mid table (and that's being optimistic) but I can genuinely see United finishing below us. How the mighty have fallen. I hate them with a passion, but there's no way on this planet with the resources that they have at their disposal they should be outside the top 6 let alone in the bottom half. Amorim needs to completely rip that squad apart and inject some quality into it because that's the worst United side I've seen in my lifetime.
-
Give it Wes Morgan. And here's your... Err... Leicester City side... Err... In Goal... Err... Mads Hermansen... Err... 😂
-
Agree, however I imagine that these dodgy betting companies will simply be replaced with some similarly dodgy digital coin company given the lack of regulation around that industry.

I know it's often asked how we have so drastically regressed whilst others such as Brighton and Brentford have passed us on their ascent, but the difference between Paul Barber and Jon Rudkin for instance is night and day. There's a great interview with Barber (think it's on Sky) where he talks about the inner workings of Brighton and the need for succession planning. The attention to detail from the club is incredible, literally every position from senior leadership, playing staff, coaching staff, and tea lady are planned for. It's no coincidence at all that they are capable of continuously selling off their most valuable talent and progressing. Contrast that against ourselves where we seem to be in disarray everytime a change occurs it boggles the mind. I think the most stable we have been over the past 10 years aside from under Walsh, was when Macia was pulling the strings. We actually seemed organised and prepared for playing personnel changes which limited the impact of losing our best players. I was thinking yesterday about how what we are now seeing is the legacy left behind from Rodgers, and there was a lot of talk during the appointment of Congerton about his impact on Sunderland and how he set them back year's, and to a slightly lesser extent (we at least returned back to the PL at the first attempt thanks to Enzo) the similarities are astonishing. Ultimately all of this has happened under Rudkin's watch and like any business the buck stops with the guy overseeing it all. Consequently he needs to be moved on and rather quickly based on the evidence of recent year's.

I couldn't give a damn what the stats stay, I've watched and played the game long enough to know that Faes is an awful defender and should be nowhere near the first team. I guarantee the moment he's dropped we'll look a lot more organised at the back as he is clearly a nightmare to play alongside and is so unpredictable that he clearly causes a lot of uncertainty in the minds of others. Unfortunately you can't have that in your backline. Everyone has to trust those around them 100%. If one engages the other has to cover and that should trigger others to follow. If you watch his positioning he's all over the place literally picking up imaginary players. Watch their second goal yesterday, genuinely have no idea what he was trying to do. He's not near any opponent and isn't tracking the ball. It's like playing without a Centre Half, yet bizarrely he's more of a hindrance than being a man light, as others expect him to be covering the space so don't close the space themselves. I have no idea what his history is as a player, but it looks to me like he started out as maybe a midfielder then with the way the game has gone in terms of having players in the back line comfortable on the ball, someone suggested he play Centre Half but gave little consideration to the fact that in-order to play that role you a) need to have instinctive defensive positional awareness, and b) know how and when to engage an opponent . He has neither hence the reason he is absolutely atrocious.
