  1. Classy, experienced work from Winksy after the first goal. He just managed to calm a riot down in the Tilton End. Is there anything he can't do?
  2. A number of people booing them off at half time is laughable. Unless they were booing the ref, which seems pathetic.
  3. If you're talking Daka, he was very lively. Off the ball movement was excellent. As others have said, their high line helped. Loved seeing players spinning in behind though. So important to stretch them and create space. Seemed like the 8's broke well behind when PD came short. Very impressive.
  4. Agreed, on the lack of options and players creating angles when we have the ball at hand back. Winks is definitely the exception, often this causes him to have take the ball in such tight areas. I'd like to see the wide players offering more, either shorter and to feet or challenging in behind. Our build up needs to have one touch play to open up the spaces and break the lines, otherwise the defence just slides across. All of the above is starting to happen, it's new, hopefully we will continue to improve in time. However, I am impressed with the plan and the approach. We will win the league I am sure, but will we master the system in time to play against strong opposition every week?
  5. Can't fault the side. Cannon off the bench. Good balance at the back. Love Nacho to look lively and up for it.
  6. I agree with you. The turn around in opinion of the manager is unbelievable, even by today's standards. Honestly, come on get a bit of balance.
  7. Agreed, the movement short from our strikers seems too short. I don't see our 8's busting the backline in those instances to exploit the space. I still want to see wingers going on the outside more often. Passing from the byline area will always create goals. Finally attacking quickly, 1 touch when we can. Most chances are created with a first time pass (this is an eye test observation, not based on stats!)
  8. They prevented us passing into HW and RP from the back which completely threw us. I was surprised KDH and CC didn't show more to create the outlet. That was the issue at the start of each half. Also, I don't understand why players run into the channel behind full backs when our wingers are 1v1 all the time, it cuts off going on the outside. However, I am absolutely loving Enzo and what is happening at the club. We will canter to the league, playing a new style of play, importantly getting better at it so it works against good teams.
  9. I agree completely with the posts suggesting VAR spoils the moment of elation when a team scores. Fans grew accustomed to holding back, just in case. Now a quick glance at the linesman and you can go nuts. It needs to go, a couple of iffy decisions, I would take. It all balances out.
  10. Make winning a habit. The performances will get better as the players get used to Enzo's expectations.
  11. This would be so good if people got on board. Come on away boys, just get it sorted.
  12. Loved Ali. I would only have been about 8, but I am sure I can remember people singing Ali Mauchlen's blue and white army. Also, seeing a banner saying the same thing in the family enclosure seating. Seems unusual to sing that about a player, but the manager was probably Pleaty, so that might explain it! Anyone recall?
  13. You just knew he would score when he came off the bench. I've not looked at his actual numbers, as I don't want to spoil the memory!
  14. Tommy Wright. Just loved watching him from the wall in the family enclosure terrace. Quick, direct, great delivery and goals. What a view from there, 3 yards from the players that hugged the touchline.
  15. I didn't see the game, but looks like KDH improved a little!
  16. Playing out from the back is about decision making and options off the ball. The back three splitting should encourage the press taking 2 players away. The first option tends to be in to one of your holding players (we've played with 2), if that's not on you have to look wide then inside to our midfield. If none of this is on and the defenders can't keep the ball, you then look more direct. Rehearsal in pre-season with many errors is ok, just a shame they haven't had more games.
  17. Negotiating the walkers crisps deal that involved giving the new walkers poppadom crisps away. Would have been about 1991, hammered it down with rain and we used the boxes as rain helmets! Great days in the family enclosure terrace.
  18. Pleased it's on lcfc.com. Come on you blues.
  19. Right foot, left foot feeding into the base of the box midfield. (Ricardo and Winks). Those two can combine well to play out. Back three will split to offer 2nd option. Love his confidence and accuracy with both feet into 'open' wide players. Problem with our recent keepers is chipping to wide player when marked relatively tightly.....madness.
  20. Apparently the game is being shown on spursplayer. Any news from the club? After dreading games last year and coming away pretty dejected, worryingly, I am buzzing for the season.
  21. Love it. Nice work.
  22. I assume you are a local! If not that is cracking commitment! Enjoy.
  23. I just hope both of them stay fit. JJ on the other side will give pace to the back three when defending against a counter.
  24. Like to see Ricardo again in the full back in defensive situations, into the pivot midfield when in possession. The concern is; does any other full back have the technical ability to do it if/when he's not available?
