  1. Thought this was likely after the Blackburn press said they couldn’t agree a deal as he had other options to consider.
  2. Maybe, but it's a short-term deal so shouldn't be that much of an issue. A change is a constant, especially in football. Take a look at how Blackburn's owners have handled the club, and you'd expect managers would run a mile but they haven't.
  3. We're a far more attractive proposition to a lot of teams around us - there's time to salvage our position, and then they'd in a strong position to get the role permanently. Rudkin and the others have no excuse for being slower than competitors.
  4. Needs to play at FB, whether instead of Ricardo at RB or LB if VK isn’t fit enough. We cannot play Thomas any longer at LB, drop him from the squad so there is no temptation to bring him on.
  5. You just know when he plays now we’re screwed defensively. If we realise that, so do the players and their confidence drops accordingly. Haven’t seen a defender worse than him, and that includes Faes.
  6. The club is just so reactive, it's incredibly frustrating. Agree with you, they were hoping King would do well but now they're scrambling. I read it's an honour thing to the person in position that they won't speak to alternative candidates while the manager is in place, but I don't believe that given Rodgers was clearly contacted while Puel was here, which facilitated the quick appointment.
  7. Getting relegated again would surely be even worse? And he was appointed at Leuven after the incident.
  8. Two reasons - weak in the head and weak in the body. He's one of the stupidest footballers, what was the need to give that free kick away? Remember also his handball vs Brighton. And his lack of physique means he holds onto the play to try to compete.
  9. Agree - I'm just saying if it is Dyche, they could argue that.
  10. Vitor Pereira to Forest is almost done. Incredible how slow the club are - only justification would be appointing someone like Dyche who has just become available.
  11. The underlying stats were very strong while Still was there, but similarly to us, they had major confidence issues having had such a bad PL season. Momentum is huge in football, and he couldn't get on a run there.
  12. Any idea about why they would have suspended the betting, other than them receiving a lot of money on one candidate?
  13. Fair but you can't organise a striker - it's one player in contrast to 4/5 plus a goalkeeper. Our defence has been rubbish for all but one season in our last five so that's clearly the area that needs work right now. Over 20 games without a clean sheet speaks for itself.
  14. Hoping it's Carvahal, want a former defender to be in change as defensive organisation has been lacking so much since Enzo left.
  15. The hope I have is Top referenced that football has moved on from that style in his interviews and mentioned 'long throws'. Hope someone has told him about Challinor!
  16. This role of Rodgers can't be underestimated. His success meant Rudkin delegated more control to him - if Rodgers had agreed these decisions, they would have happened. Shows how over his head Rudkin is, trusting Rodgers too much is the fundamental error that triggered the events we've seen and exacerbated the impact on finances from Covid.
  17. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-initiate-gary-rowett-talks-leicester-city-interest/
  18. Has to start at RB. Ricardo’s best performances came when he was an impact sub, that’s his best role now.
  19. That’s what I’d prefer out of the options we have.
  20. Yeah, you'd think but this panel thought otherwise! The PL were out to get us having embarrassed them but the ultimate responsibility lies with the board and their mismanagement.
  21. PL wanted a 12 point dedication according to Kieran Maguire - and we hoped for a fine so ended up in the middle. Worth reading the whole post, looks like our main defence was as many of us thought that the change to the rulebook was retrospective so shouldn't have applied to financial activity before 2025.
  22. If we appeal, could the punishment get worse then? I remember with the PSR rulings on Forest and Everton that they could appeal knowing the punishment wouldn't be increased.
  23. At the time, I was annoyed by that! Shows how much things have changed.
  24. The advantage with Daka is at least he attempts to run in behind, so defences are pushed back. Ayew plays better as a supporting striker - he had some good matches supporting Vardy - rather than the no.9 but as you say, it's not much of a choice! Hopefully the next manager finds a system to get the best out of the players.
  25. Playing without a no.9 or a proper pressing system were major issues. It meant teams could push up higher against us and put the team under more pressure. Hopefully the next manager will get the team working harder and play with a proper striker.
