  1. Easily could have, in fact should have been 3 wins out of 7 - the underlying stats are much better now than with Cifuentes, but he was far more lucky until towards the end of his time in charge. The team is pressing more, winning more duels and blocks/clearances so the structure is more solid. This is more sustainable for us, and should lead to better outcomes. Cut out the bozo moments and we have the foundations to succeed.
  2. Read this and thought of us as well - the seeds of this were sown in the preseason. The manager has to find a way to sort this.
  3. LOL. Joking aside, he was our best defender (appreciate that's not saying a huge amount given our defensive record) before he got injured and scored a few crucial goals. He actually looked like he cares as well. Suspect he comes in as well as soon as he's fit alongside Lascelles. The interview yesterday said a huge amount, it's going to be attritional from now on with a focus on experience.
  4. Based on the interview today, Brexitball is incoming - watch for our more physical, experienced players to start as well.
  5. Nelson after that performance? Come on, Lascelles will start.
  6. Based on Nelson, Jakub and Mukasa’s recent performances, suspect he’ll go more for experience - he’ll be itching to get Begovic and Lascelles in, and suspect Reid starts as well.
  7. The players don't do the basics consistently enough - we shoot ourselves in the foot too many times, and you can't legislate for those errors. I think the manager will become even more conservative now so at least we have a solid base to work from.
  8. I think they have in the games we've got results from but the performances vs. Norwich and QPR have been shockers - he needs to freshen it up more as the likes of Skipp can't handle three games in a week.
  9. Expect he will now turn even more to experience, Begovic if he's fit and Lascelles will surely come in. We seemingly can't handle 3 games in a week, the players are gassed and too many bozo moments. Agree Ayew isn't the major issue but he has to be nowhere near the squad - make a statement to the squad about hard work being a necessity.
  10. He's got a week now to work on the team, especially the foundations. And hopefully he see that the likes of Thomas and Ayew should be nowhere near this team - he cited the former's mistake for their 2nd goal so clearly recognises it. If he's going to switch formations to address the full back issues, this is the time to train it in with a week between fixtures.Having 3 in the middle of the park would help get some solidity there as well, and then JJ supporting Mukasa up front.
  11. The protection in front of him hasn't been great but there's no defending his mistakes. Sorry, you could have the most hardworking winger in front of but it doesn't excuse those defensive aberrations - he's become a meme like Ward. His performance vs Millwall is one of the worst I've seen from a defender in a City shirt.
  12. Agree they've been poor but BDCR and Fatawu have made far more positive contribution than Thomas. He's made so many errors that cost us goals. He has been the poorest of that group, perhaps other than Ayew.
  13. The manager called the 'clearance' out - so many bizarre, silly moments with Thomas. He is such a liability defensively. Problem is, who comes in at LB? Aluko seems more suited to RB, while Okoli and Nelson don't look assured either currently. Move Ricardo to LB, and play Aluko at RB seems the best solution if he sticks to playing 4 atb. Maybe he changes formation?
  14. Genuinely think a lot of our issues come from poor fitness - attitude is the major issue but seems like yesterday they didn’t have enough gas in the tank, even if they wanted to work hard like Skipp. 3 games in a was too much for many of them, the manager needs to rotate more. Under Marti, there was too much focus on ball playing and not enough on defensive organisation and fitness that we’re paying the price for. Add that to many players who have a poor attitude and doesn’t take a genius to work out why the team is in the position it’s in.
  15. This tells me the players are actually putting far more effort in, the defensive stats look so much better.
  16. Can’t give a source for confidentiality but know first hand that Man City rate him highly and confident he will sort things here.
  17. Having looked at it again, agree it Mavididi mainly at fault for their equaliser. But that miss showcases Thomas' weakness. All he has to do is head the ball back across the goal and he scores. Lack of footballing brain and handling pressure situations - he has the potential to be a solid FB, offers creativity and have said before he has a cultured left foot but his lack of nous and physicality hold him back.
  18. Didn’t follow the game, what a surprise Thomas screws up again. Back post yet again. He’s a liability that is costing us dearly.
  19. @Ian Ssaid this earlier, cheers for sharing this!
  20. Not sure if it's been posted but Alex Crook from TalkSport tweeted it's close to being confirmed so expect the announcement soon today.
  21. I get that fully and agree, it's these other snide comments about the social posts I'm writing about.
  22. Really don't get the bother on this from a few posters. So what if he is taking training already but it's not been publicised? The official comms are far less important than him being in place and taking training. Who cares? We've had two ITKs - Ian S and Stan SP - along with a journalist say it's either done or pretty much there. They'll want to do photos and videos, so makes sense to do all that after training, or would you prefer them to prioritise the. comms? And attacking the club for doing religious related posts is unnecesary - we have a global fanbase and you'd think people would realise the social team aren't going to post news about the appointment until confirmed? The fact they're posting in no way delays the appointment, so what's the fuss? It's not doing any harm to you. Anyway, just let's hope it works out!
  23. Looks an impressive appointment on paper, far better qualified than Rudkin.
