  1. You're running that risk playing Vestergaard in a high line. Under Enzo, we had the same issue but typically there was enough cover behind him, and Mads playing as a sweeper keeper mitigated it as well. So it's a calculated risk, as he gives more than any other player than Winks with line-breaking passes. I wonder whether the pressure of getting points on the board with the potential PSR punishment is leading to the selection of experienced players and quick fixes? Agree over the longer-term it's wrong-headed.
  2. Your bias is clouding your judgement - it's not several mistakes in a few games. You can't say Vestergaard's lack of pace is a mistake, that just doesn't make sense. Stats are the only objective way to judge a player, this isn't the 90s no more. He was superb vs. Birmingham, very good vs Charlton and scored the equaliser vs. Sheff Wed. I've got no love for Vestergaard but he has been our best defender this season so far. However, would much rather Nelson get a chance, if it is even alongside Vestergaard.
  3. He has mate, just look at the stats. Obviously, he was poor for the goal vs Wrexham but he's been our most consistent defender this season. I'm no fan of him after his antics, especially the previous season, but I try to be objective. He's meant to step up re. that goal vs. West Brom, and it could easily have been prevented had Faes not dived in or Soumare been better positioned.
  4. Feel sorry for whoever is nearby @Ric Flairwhen he reads this! But it doesn't make sense. Vestergaard has been mostly excellent this season so can see where he's ahead of Nelson but prioritising some of the players who've got a long record of failure with the club is wild. Hope the manager follows up on what he said in his post-match interview on Tuesday and gives the likes of Aluko and Nelson at least a place on the bench. The fans would get behind him as well. The only legitimate reason for not involving Nelson would be if there is an attitude issue after rejecting the bids for him but he may feel justified if that was the case as he hasn't had a look-in.
  5. Ramsey still suspended for the next game.
  6. Yeah, he's got his own Youtube channel Blue Tinted Glasses - it's one of the biggest, if not the biggest Leicester fan channel. Hope he's right but hit and miss - he got it wrong on the points deduction but correct on RvN would be our manager.
  7. LOL, sorry mate! Think I've got it right this time. @LoxBTG is reporting that he's been informed both loan deals for the two attacking midfielders are sorted.
  8. @Bluetintedspecssays he's been informed that both loan deals are sorted.
  9. Excellent. So we can be sure he had no doubts about this!
  10. Given the club are likely giving this info to Owynn should give confidence, normally they wouldn’t say much.
  11. If Soumare stays, we need backup for him as a physical central midfielder. No surprise we were linked with a couple of Swedish players in that ilk.
  12. Thanks. I wonder if part of this is it's very close to the end of the window, and to get a quality replacement, we want more money. But given that fee can be amoritsed, surely we take £5m?
  13. What is the minimum we need from a PSR perspective?
  14. He will have been briefed by the club to give this info. Can people chill now after the overreaction earlier? 😂
  15. It wasn't, it was nearer £30m according to more well established reports.
  16. Glad the club are standing firm, deal needs to be acceptable on our terms.
  17. Albrighton spoke highly of Soumare as well - looks like he is very good in training but doesn't show the same in matches consistently enough.
  18. This. And remember we missed out on a lot of targets because of their concerns over a points deduction, hence the likes of Skipp who was a Cooper signing (and he pushed for Odouard as well after we won the case). Glover has suffered under the club’s deference to the manager rather than a particular style - only decent manager pre-Marti we had was Enzo since Glover’s arrival and he had a very good window. There was that one with Rodgers as well but he was in complete charge by that point although I think he deserves some criticism for Tete and Kristensen as likely he had a key role in those signings.
  19. I suspect another reason why we're going to move in the final week of the window is the top clubs will have a better idea of what they need, so more loans will become available. That's a factor in why we didn't get Fatawu, Yunus and Casadei until towards the end of that transfer window.
  20. Yeah, Palace held firm to get a better deal for Eze, and they had a release clause for him which was their asking price. We’re simply doing the same - £30m is our minimum, so pay up.
