So good at nearly scoring

It's a long season, hopefully he has an impact at some point. Not been good enough so far, and he might not get better but I don't like how quickly we are to jump on players.

Just watched the highlights hoping to see a couple of good goals and a convincing performance but didn't appear to be. 2 fortunate goals, massive deflection and horrible goal keeping for the second and then it's just Plymouth chances. However, win is a win, window closed and some decent looking signings so hopefully we can build on this first win.

Didn't think we could loan 3 players from the same club. Never heard of him, and don't even know where he plays but the more options the better.

Not sure on loan rules but do we have space for Page to be loaned back? Would rather agree a fee for the summer but probably too much risk involved in that.

I get the signing, but 4 years? 3 would've been bad enough but at least that is standard for an under 30 player. My colleague says he will get goals at this level, but it was hardly glowing references. For a big guy he doesn't put himself about enough and has poor body language at times. But then pops up with a goal.

Away goals always sound better at Villa Park than any other ground I can think of. Assume its the location but always a great roar.

Preston fan at work thought he was decent but not overly bothered when he went. Decent attributes that we need, bit of physical presence but not sure there is much speed there. Injury concerns though as always. Would rather a loan.

Goes without saying but need a result to ease the pressure and hopefully get us going. Having a full round of fixtures on deadline date is ridiculous and helps noone. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few names on the team sheet as they try a last minute escape.

Stats suggest a typical Martin ball game. That way of playing has been found out without some quality going forward. I'm at the stage that I'm thinking any point gained before the window shuts is a bonus.

Always thought Stokes got off the lightly with the all criticism labelled at Key. And it was glossed over when Broad said he had to 'babysit' Stokes on nights out and tempt him home with McDonalds. I know it's probably difficult with local dickheads getting lairy with them but they don't have a brain cell between them.
